Well, I'm using a brand new atty, my "emergency" reserve before new order gets here, and it still flooded with one cart and thick juice. It's the foam placement with me. So now I'm tailpiping as they call it (puffing without cart or drip tip). :D

oh, and my liquid is not thick... it is all clear (well the halo is pinkish).. don't know halo's ratio of pg/vg, but I do know it is more pg than vg, unflavored is 50/50, joogler is 70/30

I've vaped the last half hour with no cart, atty only. That's how much juice was in there!

In my testing, it doesn't seem to matter the thickness of the juice. If the filler doesn't sit right, it floods or is stuffed. I'm vaping Dekang 50/50 and TastyVapor 70/30 (more watery).

maybe you should let me send you the one with one hole. I've been using one and it's working fine. I will try to get it to you in better shape than poor vitolo's! PM me your address if you want to try it afterall!

hey vitolo...you don't have the issues justa is having?

the dopey one needs more help
I am using an ego batt with a 510 atty
I can tail pipe, get vapor, drip tip- vapor, cartridge- vapor. I put these things on and I get nothing. Not even the vapor from what is left in the atty. I can't possibly imagine why this is not working

this is what I bought- said it will work with 510s
Smart Cart (tank cartridge - 510/EGO/TREX) | Buy E-Cigarette Kits, E-Liquid & Accessories online | KingpincigsKingPin E-Cigarettes | Electronic Cigarette Accessories

and for my humiliating admission of how I tried to fill them? I pulled out the stuffing and tried to get the liquid to go thru the little holes. yeah, does not work too well. I am using a fresh one so thats not why its not working for me

Thank you for the offer. As of now, no need. I'm on my 3rd cart today, switching back and forth, and 2 out of 3 did not leak. I'm telling ya, it's the filler placement. Problem is I lose track of which cart needed fixing until I put it on. 2 out of 3 ain't bad! I'll fix them. :)

Cags, didn't you try those smart carts?

My first guess is the filler is not wicked/wet. Take out the cart, look in the cup, turn cart sideways, use a paperclip and press it a few times. The filler should be wet and spongy.

Nothing humiliating about vaping. The whole thing is experimental. Having an atty fry my Riva, then, trying that same atty on a 510 batt and frying that, that was dumb - and I just did it this week. ;)

With those extensions.. they say you can file the ends .. but I felt better adding the extensions. Yes Justa.. that's what I had meant alright!
cags, I don't have that same issue as Justa...
I am using 2 see throughs on 2 units. Jessy uses cocnut(light pink 50/50) and ego uses pear(50/50 colorless).
I am lucky... I never seem to flood (I did with the caps without the poly...and just the hole)

Patty on the other hand has issues that I can blame partially on the juices coloring.. since it is 50/50 and same viscosity.
She sucks usually a triple draw each time she depresses battery.
This causes the compression of the poly when the color sediment builds up.. she sucks harder, and then on rare occasion she floods.
Her trouble is more often, lack of flow.
We all have different styles of vaping, and inhaling etc.
We switch units to eliminate any variables.. and it is the same.

P.S.
After I posted that my favorite Batteries were back for 9.95.....
I ordered 2 new ones... and an hour later the one was using DIED!..
Karma... gotta love her!

Vitolo, the filing of batt ends, poking @ center contact and need for an extension is why I haven't tried those $10 Smoktechs. Glad you like them, good price. I thought you were using your Jessy alone? Speaking of which, Jessy is advertised as self-cleaning its atty. How's that working?

Since I put that last cart on, it's been working fine. 2 out of 3 are good so far today.

Not a good week for batts. At least yours died of natural causes.

I have a few shorty extensions I use on those batteries.
I use the Ego with a Joye Ego 650maH battery.
I use the Jessy M with the Jessy 650maH battery.
(I split two kits with Patty and we each have one of each.)
I use the Jessy most.. but I use the Ego through the day (they are two different flavors!)
I keep a few of those SmokTech 900maH batteries as my "Nobrand" ecig.. that I make a variety of ecigs from for various uses.
Generally I use a regular 510 atomizer (I like Bauway) and I put on a regular non see through black refill cartridge. This is for my vaping an odd flavor here or there "in between" vapes.
I do use them to mess around also....
I present Frankenvape.
Photoon2011-09-03at13272.jpg

Then, Patty wanted a monster of her own, so I made her a similar unit whose cartomizer (also dual coil)holds 2.5 ml
Please meet "The Bride of Frankenvape".
Photoon2011-09-03at13262.jpg

Although these monsters do not have the features, and smooth flavors that we get with our favorite ecigs, the Jessy, they do produce monster hits, and I have already provided a number of local friends with this Mod! :D

EDIT#1- I never use cartomizers for myself. I do not like them. The above "monsters" were made for a couple of friends with specific "wants".

Edit#2
Self cleaning atty... Yes
This seems to work great. It is actually the battery that holds the chips and memory. After 300 button pushes, the unit 's battery has a circuit that completes a connection and sets an ultrasonic vibration through the atty.
The lights go through a series of blinking when this occurs.. and I do notice a distinclty fresher and thicker vapor afterwards.

i haven't used them, but I did ask about them and they appear to be what you and I are using. sinn88, did wetting the poly help??
humiliating...when I first started I was afraid to fill a cart...took me several weeks before I would attempt it. then I used gloves so I wouldn't poison myself LOL

It is wise to be careful if you mix your own though! That pure nicotine is what is dangerous!
I still have a couple bottles of it. I am afraid to even mess with them.. it is so easy to get it way to strong.
This was a good thing for you.. not only admitting that fear, but overcoming it, and now laughing about it....
Vaping has done a good thing right there alone!
I always wet the poly with a new cart...
I feel lucky , cause I have been on a roll.. have not changed carts in either unit; jessy or ego in a very long time.

I will make a confession now. When I gave patty her first taste of ejuice... I was mixing my own, but I did not use nicotine .. I was "flavor grabbing" ... so I mixed my first nicotine batch and gave one to patty and I took one.. we both got quite a buzz!!!
Patty didn't speak any other words for a good hour other than "you tried to kill me".
as for me.. when I stopped perspiring was when I got off my cheapskate ... and drove to FreedomSmokeUSA to grab my first official certified flavors.

The Frankensteins live!
Also, on a PV with enough extensions, you can see forever!

I've heard both good and bad about Bauway attys. If they work well for you, great. The 10 pack I just bought are supposed to be Joyes. I found they "sturdy".

When I clean my attys manually, the gunk gets washed out. And there'd be dry ash particles when I dry burn. Wouldn't the Jessy sonic clean produce some stuff? How do you get that out?

I thought you had, thought I read a post where you said your smart carts broke but the tank carts from Breezesmokes were fine. Maybe I misread or was hallucinating. :D

Afraid to fill a cart? Oh, that's nothing. I've read some weird and dangerous stuff newbies do when they first started. Better safe than sorry.

Btw, EVERYONE, I might have figured out why the mouth piece end of one of my carts cracked. Sometimes, the fit on an atty is so tight, I have to yank hard to get the cart out. That could have done it. Especially when the cap on the mouthpiece is removed, there's not much support on the open end.

Trick: if the cart is on too tight, heat up the atty to expand it, makes it easier to remove cart.

I have looked and looked and find no residue or by product. I have never cleaned or dry burned it.
I do an alcohol cleaning on other attys but don't dry burn them either.
I hold on VERY firmly.. and I hold the screw end toward the wand of my shop vac..... and I touch my finger tip on and off the "coil end' of the atty to help restrict the suction for perfect dryness.
I am on my original attys all the way around... have cleaned all except the two jessys.
I have fried 2 cartomizers (the only two I ever used)

That sonic clean is a mystery to me.

I use the batts to dry my attys after rinse/soak. The 4 Joye attys I've had 4-5 months are still working. The EM attys that came with the Riva all died within days/weeks, one took 2 batts with it. :grr:

I didn't know you could fry cartomizers! The cheap prefilled cartos I did use with an 808 kit were all charred inside, I found out later.

the black smart carts I used did break. the first place I got the clear tank carts was clouds of vapor, but he discontinued them. then, after we started discussing them I got a few from breezesmokes to try.

I was thinking that may be why mine cracked too...although mine had also been used for 6-12 weeks or more. also I sometimes "drop" them into my salt shaker led end up instead of gently putting them in there. I will be more gentle in the future. and OMG thanks thanks for the tip! some of mine are also tight in the atty. should I put it in the freezer when the cart is too loose <g>

speaking of tight....... today I took off the ming drip tip I've been using on the ego to drip.... it broke my atty! it pulled off the tube and out popped the bridge thing. then I had to unscrew the rest of it from the battery! I've not heard of that happening! at least it was an old atty, although it was working

Justa... the sonic clean is a mystery to me too.
I know that it works....
Perhaps the ultrasonic pulse dislodges, and shatters any material into so fine a particle, it is drawn through in those first couple of draws.. or what may make more sense is that it may run with a tiny bit of moisture out the Atty bottom.
I always swab a qtip in my battery posts before I charge. The Jessy charges from the bottom.. but I still "maintain it' the same.. and when about to charge.. I open and swab the battery post (monitoring for leaks as well). I have come up from the Jessy, with a dirty q tip, from an otherwise sparkling clean unit.. AND YET.. I never get a dirty qtip from the less sophisticated Ego....
The Jessy tastes so pure and clean... so I would believe that maybe that small amount of black dirt that I get is a by product of the ultrasonic cleaning.

Yeah, it was your smart carts, black ones, not the same.

Salt shaker? Anther creative solution. I've dropped my clear cart on tile floors and no damage, but did hear "crack" when I squeezed too hard pulling it out of atty. Freezing would not make it a good vape! :D

Sorry to hear about your atty. :( I've never heard of a cart killing an atty, but then, never seen an atty kill 2 batts either...until this week.

Where does the dirt go from the ultrasonic cleaning?
I take a clean swab from the Ego battery and from a jessy. The jessy was used for less time this go around.. and yet there is dirt from where the atomizer connects to the battery. This is never the case on my Joye units.
I believe I may have located "where it goes".
I did a small test, after the ultrasonic cleaner went off. I swabbed inside of the battery threads that had been cleaned hourly for an entire afternoon in anticipation of the next "cycle".
The swab came up much dirtier than after my normal swab, done at each charging.
This does not prove anything. other than I found more dark matter after the ultrasonic cleaning....
But---> it would explain where the "debris" that you speak of noticing is going!

That's what I mean. The soot has to go somewhere! Where did it go? It's obviously clean since it's working well. I clean the threads too, usually just with damp paper towel.

Here's another creative solution - I use old toothbrushes on the threads! :p

Vitolo, just saw your new ultrasonic cleaning video. So that's where it went? I don't know how it controls where it goes. Oh well.

Nice shirt! :thumb:
