hey,

first, somebody called me dude recently so I thought I should mention that I'm a girl....well, ok, an old woman :). anyway, today 2 of my clear tank carts are flooding my attys. what would you do first? change the poly? I'm still using the original poly (for 2-3 weeks now) tomorrow they might work perfectly...my ecig stuff seems to have bad days then they recover on their own. thanks!

Hi cags,

I don't think I called you "dude", but I called a man a girl once on ECF! I did call you two "guys" though.

Have those clear carts flooded before? If they are flooding, the poly may be squished and need to be cleaned/fluffed a little. They may also not be sitting right. Make sure they are spread out to cover the entire cup. Have you changed juice? If you need blue foam, let me know. I sent some to Vitolo.

The bridge of the atty inserts into the cup when you plug the cart into atty. I suspect sometimes when that bridge isn't sitting right, or if you twist the cart while in atty, it could push the filling aside and cause a leak, thus flooding.

I sometimes get flooding and usually a little adjusting with a paperclip will fix it, but today 2 are doing it and so far messing with it hasn't helped. I know that with the regular black carts you are supposed to put them on the atty a certain way , I never really understood it exactly. the whistle tip on these clear carts made me feel free from that but I'll play around and see if that helps. I try to not twist them. same attys, same liquid :) they might work perfectly tomorrow! thanks for the suggestions. I have some of the blue stuff, but I dont see how that would "hold" the liquid, so I haven't tried it. it looks more like a spider web than foam!

Ok, rule out juice.

That "blue stuff" bounces back a little better when compressed and does not squish into a ball, which is when the polyfill does not cover the entire cup. Juice slips out. Also, did you switch cups in carts by any chance? I posted earlier that cups fit different carts differently. juice could leak around loose cup.

Hmm, spider web? The foam "grabs" the juice a little differently, surface tension etc. But foam is not leak proof either. :)

If you use that blue foam, make sure it's not too small, need to be twice was wide as cup to sit securely in there. The expansion force holds it in place.

edit: knocking off for today, be back tomorrow. :)

hey,
I may have found out why they seem to be flooding the atty. last night all three were doing it, so this AM I took them apart intending to clean them and change the poly. I found that all three had cracks at the mouthpiece...not by the poly cup, but where it goes in your mouth. (I don't bite or chew the mouth piece fyi) why would that make them seem to flood the atty? anyway, I filled new tank carts - one I used completely new, the other 2 I used the old poly cup (keeping in mind what you said about the cup sizes justa). I will try them shortly...right now I am vaping with a drip tip to clear out the attys.(I hate to waste any liquid, especially the expensive halo <g>) I am not upset because I have been using 2 of these tank carts for about 8 weeks and one I've been using for at least 10 weeks, if not longer....so I really feel like I have gotten my money's worth out of them! will report again later after I have finished clearing the attys and used the new ones - I hope that solves the issue. :vapor:

cags....
cags. I got your letter.
Unfortunately they must have rolled it through a thin slot, so even though you rolled it in a paper immaculately, it managed to crack, and the contents were unclear as to how it went together! (the 3 pieces were apart)
It came like this;

Now I can figure out that the poly goes on top…..
I figured that the plastic "cup" replacement piece goes in… as seen here

not hooks out as seen here:

Do you go in with a syringe to fill from through the polyfill? or does the cap pop out with it's poly sitting on top.
Sorry for the added questions.. but USPS kinda messed up here!

stupid post office! the plastic cup goes in the opposite as how it is in the pic. the little arm things point toward the mouthpiece like the first pic...at least that was the way it came. so I pulled it out by one of the arms with tweezers and fill from the bottle. sorry it cracked :(

Vitolo, Cags, you two are having a better day than I. I think one faulty atty from the Riva kit killed/shorted two of my batts! :grr:

One, the Riva batt, blinks 3 times and LED goes on. When I put a good atty on it, nothing. I think it's dead.
I tried the guilty atty on a 510 batt, zap, heat, 510 is dead. I'm hoping not.

Bad day!

p.s Vit, I PMed you about "return to sender"...

p.p.s For details of my day, see this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/227291-field-trip-meets-serial-batt-killer.html#post4223729

Cracks at the mouthpiece should not cause any leak. The other chamber holds the juice. I just got my carts and one already has a crack, could be the hot water I cleaned it with. Now, that pic Vitolo showed, that's a goner I'm afraid. :(

I'm still fine tuning (minus 2 batts you might have heard) and still get leaks once in a while, with foam. It has to do with that tiny cup. When the atty bridge comes down in it, it leaves very little room for the white or blue stuff. One step forward, two steps back... :)

Vit, the foam goes out again today...

Hi sln, my friend! :)

My guess is yes because I saw Madvapes selling carts for BOTH 510/901 here 510/901 Flat-Tip Refill Cartridges Empty. If the typical cart they sell can fit both, why not these, but I can't be sure. Sorry. :(

:toast:

its hard to get hubs ecig away from him long enough to try anything on it. and he does not know I vape so I can't just hand him these and say "try these they are great!" If I buy him something that does not fit he will just think I am a knucklehead! I claim innocence tho! the directions that came with his kit were for a 510!
If he ever saw all the vaping sh-t I have he would flip:laugh:

as soon as I find a juice I truly like I will try these on my t-rex

I don't know how you keep it from your husband, maybe when you're away from each other at work? And you'd also have to hide all that stuff at home. If he has a 510 type, you're all set.

Did you see my other post, #116 above? Maybe start a post in General forum to make sure so I don't feel like a knucklehead for giving wrong advice? :D

Vit, Flavor Art flavoring + some PG/VG and you're DIYing! Work though.
