it was the drip tip that broke the atty!

AH! I thought the fillings were entangled with the bridge and yanked it off.

Btw, the sun's setting on the West Coast and I've had a GOOD clear cart vaping day, a little slippages of juice in one cart, but that's it.

Where does the dirt go from the ultrasonic cleaning?
I take a clean swab from the Ego battery and from a jessy. The jessy was used for less time this go around.. and yet there is dirt from where the atomizer connects to the battery. This is never the case on my Joye units.
I believe I may have located "where it goes".

Forgive the sound quality.. I forgot to take the cover off my mike... and once the unit was clean.. I could not redo an "impromptu" test! :vapor:

Vit, I thought of something else as I was cleaning my atty. That black stuff you cleaned out of your Jessy could be metal off the threads, not soot! I get the same black stuff when I wipe down my atty/batt threads.

Meanwhile, white or blue filling, the best results (no leaking, best wicking) comes with adjusting the filling every time a full cart is used.

Then it would appear that the mystery continues...
I guess my attempts to analyze are mere curiosity!
I am not sure if I actually ever get soot then... since I have never once dry burned any atty.
I clean and vac them out, but have never let an atty even in the bag sit dry.
I have never lost use of any atty yet.
Other than that dark matter around the threads, I have never seen anything I could call soot.
Am I missing something?

My rudimentary understanding of ultrasonic cleaning is it shakes particles loose from something, if that's what the Jessy does. If that's the case, you shouldn't get soot.

I dry burn and I've definitely seen soot rinsed out after, micro black flakes. What I get off the threads is that black stuff from metal scraping metal. I'm guessing that's what you got in the video, but could be wrong.

Still a mystery.

That's what I mean. The soot has to go somewhere! Where did it go? It's obviously clean since it's working well. I clean the threads too, usually just with damp paper towel.

Here's another creative solution - I use old toothbrushes on the threads! :p

Vitolo, just saw your new ultrasonic cleaning video. So that's where it went? I don't know how it controls where it goes. Oh well.

Nice shirt! :thumb:
I don't think it "controls " where it goes so much, as it runs out those holes on the sides of the threads in a trickle of fluid.
(a thought anyway)
I got the sponge pieces, and sent some polyfill, BTW, thx much!

One way to tell what that black stuff is - if it came out with juice, it'd be a little wet/grimy. If it's pretty dry/powdery stuff, probably metal/coloring. I've cleaned both kinds off the threads.

Aww, no need to send anything. I'm doing fine. Got some new attys, will try them with carts.

Remember to cut the foam a little bigger than the cup, width anyway. I'm still playing with the exact proportions. I think cutting the foam in half may be too big, a little less than that is probably perfect. Cut too much and it starts leaking. Good luck!

Well... Patty seems to have more issues than I with cartridges. She vapes more heavily upon the units also, so I (as ecig maintenance guy) remove her cart more often... and inquire about satisfactory delivery more often, as she is trying to stop smoking all together, and still fights with it.(so her satisfaction is more important.....
BUT-
this gives me a perfect person to initiate testing with!

Patty smokes 5 cigs a day approx.
She is not willing to throw away her last order from the Ukrain (6 cartons for 100 bucks).
She is almost out, and we will see where it goes from there!
FOAM...
I went ahead and began experimenting with the foam....
1- I notice theat the approximate size is 1/4 of each 'plug".. but not quite.
I can see that it will take a knack, to get good at adding the sponge.
I experienced my 1st "flooding" ever using the foam... and will likely again until I get it right.
I am using a generic battery and a few spare attys to experiment with the foam to work on getting it just right.

I gotta hand it to you. It takes some practice. I can see though that once t=right.. the material will be long lasting...
I have been working, and still not too good at it..
I have never had any issue at all with my jessey carts...(polyfill).. but I would like to master this technique, and give it a go on Patty's units!
