You may want to try a manual battery if you are not already. I have seen noticed some problems with suck activated batteries causing mild symptoms of pleurisy and/or accessory respiratory muscle fatigue especially if you are vaping often. A good e-cig that requires very little effort may alleviate the lung and chest discomfort. The manual batts require essentially no effort and you may find yourself making fewer "false" inhalation attempts. With that said, sounds like you are off the analogs. That's what is important. Congrats!

I've been reading about the chest pains on a few different threads. No one has mentioned my old favorite, the hiatal hernia.

Hiatal hernia - MayoClinic.com

If you have one, gas gets into your chest and by God you will swear you are having a heart attack. It can be your whole chest, one side or the other, upper, lower, your back even, but you will swear it's a heart attack. Some of the worst pain I have ever felt and trust me, I have felt some bad pain before.

I noticed that when I first started vaping I seemed to have this more often until I realized I was sucking in more air than usual which was getting into my chest cavity.

Of course, the only way to know if this is the case is to see your doctor, which you need to do anyway if you are having any type of chest pain to rule out a heart attack or pneumonia.

On the right side only. I'm 54. Mostly when I deeply breath in. I'm an old smoker, 40 years worth so this is not the first time. I have had similar pain in the past and attributed it to smoking analogs, but I have only had 5 analogs in the last 3 weeks and 3 were today. Thought they would help in my own warped mind.
I have been to the doc last week but this wasn't an issue then. Gonna go play golf this afternoon, if it is muscle pain it should show up then. Thanks for the concern, if this does not get better soon I will insist the doc look into it.

The weird thing is, we have almost exactly the same stats- I'm just a year older and started 40 years ago. We're in that territory where stroke and lung embolus can really knock us over; so I hope doc gets you on the daily aspirin or plavix, etc... and knocks down your cholesterol. Funny also, I run for hours at a time and don't get tired, if I hadn't smoked so freaking long I could probably run for days at a time.

Chest pain is so tough to diagnose- Hiatal hernia is a possibility; so is gall bladder (go figure) It's the pain on deep inspiration that reminds me so much of pulmonary embolus. I see it in the ER all the time.

latrat, that doesn't sound good. Did you have x-ray done on your lungs? Go back to your doctor and have it checked throughly. I smoked analogs for 35 years and stopped more than 2 months ago, my lungs have improved and I feel so much better. So in your case I think you need to have it checked again. I hope you feel better already by now.

Do let us know how you are doing.

I'm no doctor, But I would put my money on it being either....
a) To much Nicotine
or
b) Simply your lungs clearing out all the nasty crap you have built up over the years
It does hurt a little, (Are you coughing anything up?)

or even try switching to a non-pg juice?
Just throwing out ideas, lol

Make sure to bring a spare atty,
I went golfing yesterday, and my atty died on the first hole 8-o
and I didn't think to bring a spare along with me....
Had my first smoke in over a week (Tasted Horrible, Couldn't finish it)

Morning all, just wanted you to know I am still kickin. Woke up this morn and the pain was the same as yesterday, but seemed to subside a little quicker. Hurt too much yesterday so didn't make it golfing. (we're still in first place but gave up our first loss of the season)
The doc has been working on my BP so I am seeing him all the time. I have a blood draw this Saturday so will need to see him after the results come back.
I was thinking that my body is probably paying me back for all the abuse over the years. Kinda defeats the purpose of quitting analogs if you feel worse. I really haven't coughed up all that much so far, maybe I'm still clogged up.
I do appreciate all the comments and recommendations. Will post if and when I feel better and will let you all know what the doc says. BTW, vaping does not seem to hurt today, woot.

You are so right. An embolus is very painful. I had one in AUgust 2007 after a pelvic ORIF and I had more pain from that then I did my pelvis.

I didn't know a gall bladder could hurt in the chest! Learn something new every day!

You are having BP problems? You really shouldn't wait until Saturday to go see the doc. If there is a problem with your BP then you don't need to mess around and delay treatment just in case it is something serious. I speak from experience on this one. Right now I'm having heart problems that they are trying to figure out too and the doc has specificaly told me ANY chest pains and I'm to call him. I know men really hate to go to the doc but you really should give then a call.
