Yup! Just like it says..I got taken for alot! My bank alerted me, I called, and everything is being taken care of. I have been getting alot of stuff through the classies via PayPal. I don't think that was it. The bank said they couldn't have infiltrated through paypal because they were online debit card purchases that needed the security code to make the purchases. Last time I made purchases through an on line vendor was about a month ago, but I have heard, the criminals wait awhile after they get your info in hopes that you are unaware of their purchases until it's too late.

Be careful everyone!

I offered a car on craiglist today and within a few minutes I got a text with two or three questions and an immediate asking if I had a paypal account. He said he was out of town and could only pay by paypal. I told him cash or a certified cashier check from a major us bank or no deal. He stopped texting me and moved on.

There are scammer and con artist that will use any medium to take advantage of people. It usually goes like this. I will buy item xx from you and send you a fake paypal, western union or whatever something and over pay you. You then sent xxx moneies to a shipping company for me. The deal falls threw. You get no money and pay out of your pocket to a fake shipping company or handling firm

Anything can be hacked, however the only way to hack PayPal is either through your PC or through PayPals servers, with a credit card your details are with every vendor you do business with, so you are far more vulnerable and reliant on others good security practices. I am far more comfortable using a PayPal.

Yep which is why I use prepaid cards or deal with sites that take PayPal. A bit more hassle for me but worth it.

I assume that this is a joke... it's a forum post by some random person claiming that PayPal has been hacked. PayPal has not been hacked according to any credible sources. Far (FAR) more likely that the forum goer simply had his account info stolen.

Yes, and the suggested Google search was You Tube videos, Facebook pages and blogs. Didn't see anything on the first 2 pages from any reliable source of information that indicated PayPal was hacked, only that PayPall accounts were 'hacked'. With the number of people out there on the internet that have no clue how to protect themselves this is no surprise whatsoever.

When my brother in law asked me to look at his computer because it was 'acting up' I found several malware exploits had been kindly added to his system. One of them was preventing anyone to logon as computer administrator and I could not remove programs or update his anti virus. It also wouldn't allow permission to load a new A/V program I brought to his house on a flash drive. When I asked him when the last time he updated his A/V was, he looked at me like I was speaking ancient Mesopotamian....

I find this type of ignorance quite common and this was just one example of many I've been personally privy to lately.

And beware on these the money orders they send on these can look very real. It happened to my nephew about 3 years ago.
