I got an Xhaler about a week ago and I loved it...BUT...I HATED the sticker graphics on it. so....I peeled off the sticker and painted it :D . I used a "hammered" black finish paint, its kinda like the "krinkle" finish and it looks great!! I love it even more now :)
this is an awesome PV .

some quick pics.....

Nice work T, that really looks awesome. I have often thought about a similar makeover for my Xhaler. How long did the whole project take to complete? Thanks for the pics and keep on vaping!

the whole project took less than 24 hours.... the paint was "fast drying" so I was able to put 2 coats on in an hour and I let it dry overnight(10 hrs ?) and re-assembled it the next day :)

T beautifully done. really looks nice. I have had my Xhaler for a while and i had the chrome vinyl on and after a while it started to look worn. what i did was use 1500 grit wet dry and sanded it over and over til it got nice and shiny. It looks great with the aluminum really shiny. so then i got some 2000 grit wet dry and wet sanded it a lot more. now it shines more than before. still working on it but other nite i used the 2000 grit again and this sanded it in the sink filled with water. so i sanded it under water. now it shines so much and i like it like this. so now i have to either give it some clear coats and buff them out between coats or Drew gave me an idea to use clear contact paper. Or i might measure the Xhaler specs and buy a skinomi. Its a clear, thermoplastic urethane film – the toughest of its class. It has the ability to resist the highest level of abrasion, making it the ultimate protection for gadgets and devices. I will have to see if i can measure the Xhaler right.
anyway enough of this Great job on your Xhaler Enjoy

I may have to sand mine itz dinked up cus i drop my xhaler into my death trap lazyboy... i have alot of extra sand paper from a custom computer paintjob all the way to 4000 grit maybe higher? I would have to check... it sounds like that aluminium looks pretty sweet

Rood i didnt know wet dry sandpaper goes up that high. man i will have to look around. i went to auto zone and the highest they had was 2000 grit. where did ya get it? yeh start off with a quick sand to get it smooth with like 400 to 600 grit. then start buffing with 1500 then 2000 then higher if ya can. good luck. yeh the aluminum is really shiny but i may want to dull it down some. just a hair. to me aluminum looks better a bit dull than too shiny. Too shiny makes it cheap looking imopinion. but thats my opinion. some may love it shiny.
after you sand and buff it out what will you use for protection? If i do clearcoat i will give it about 3 coats and buff after each coat. i have to see when i do it. you know how it goes we change things as we do it lol. Good luckj with yours Happy Vaping
