As stated I am shopping for a tube type device. There are so many and everyone says they have the best. I have been using the basics New Nature, Blu, V2 and started with an original Ego ecig (hated it). I would like to upgrade to a tube to get even more vapor and "throat hit" but, I just don't know what to buy. I would prefer a kit that I do not really need to modify. I am not opposed to dripping but, would like to avoid it if possible. I have read 100's of post and watched hours of videos and i still feel like I'm on page one. Shipping is another factor and the main reason I want to get away from Blu cigs, for I live in Alaska. Also, the expense is killing my budget. I am looking for a device that is not too big but, still packs a punch. I would also like to purchase the juice from the same proprietor if possible. I have also learned that menthol means different things to different suppliers. I am looking for a fresh, strong yet smooth menthol flavor. I am a former Newport smoker. I have been vaping since 15SEPT11 and smoke free since. I still have a lot to learn though. The devices I have been looking at are Lava Tube, Ego W, Ego T, KGO, Alpha, VMOD and many others. Please help.

If you are looking at a 3.7 v tube joytech makes a tube that takes a 18650 batt and is a true 3.7. I love mine. Don't use it as much as the provari of course but a nice fixed volt tube. Switch head is also replaceable. You can get in to the whole kit for around 40 bucks. If you get the lava tube get the big one not the mini. The mini runs 18350's that die pretty quick and the highest 18350's Ive seen were 800 mah. GL!

Are you interested in something that has Variable Voltage? That would give you more versatility regarding cartos you can use.
You mentioned not wanted to break the budget,... that pretty much rules out ProVari ($200)
As you step down in price consider: Buzz Pro ($130), VMAX ($95), Lavatube/VTube ($60), The EGo-Twist ($30)

Or if you are interested in something more simple. A fixed voltage tube mod which will give you excellent hits using Low Res cartos/attys:
Then consider : The Silver Bullet ($85) , The Bolt ($35), EGo - 18650 "Preggo" ($25), KGO ($17)

I am soaking all of this in and adding to my research. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate all this help so far. I also wanted to answer a few questions i was asked. The ProVari does seem a little large but, i am just used to regular e cigs. What I really would like in price is to buy something that I am satisfied with and have a better vaping experience rather than jumping around looking for a product that makes me happy. I would also like to have a smaller over all price on e juice in the pre-filled carts from certain companies that don't always deliver in their quality. So, in short the initial price may over come the total in the future I feel. o take my questions further- what direction is best for carts? as far as quality and price? Are the wick type refills superior to pre-fills or what are my options? I'm not being as clear as i want to be for everyone to help me but, I hope I am getting across what I'm wanting to know. Also, wow! What a great help you all have been so far. Thank you all!

Keeping it simple is key for your situation.
So buy the KGo from EliteVaporWorks. I just recommended this to my cousin. He loves it. I started with this kit too and enjoy it alot.
Elite Vaporworks KGO Starter Kit with Boge LR Cartomizers - KGO
The cartos it comes with will work great. The juice is plenty to get you started til you get more juice. It has 2 'cigs', a charger, enough empty cartos. Buy it and don't look back.
