I remember some people complaining about having to online id verify.

I don't mind age verification (in person or online either.) My identity is insecure enough that I don't worry too much about it, and I never really have.

None of our data is 100% secure, and I really don't feel that proffering my DL is going to make it exponentially more likely to cause identity theft although I do understand how unpleasant it is.

With US vendors at least, I imagine it will eventually be the standard and etc.

I don't either and if asked I would submit a DL with all but the necessary information blacked out. Where I had a problem is when I was required to enter my cell phone number so something could be texted to me. They already had my email addy so an email could have accomplished the same thing. I already get enough telemarketing calls although I don't give my cell number out to just anyone. I decided I didn't need whatever it was I thought about ordering.

As to the OP's reason for this thread. Those of us that have been here on this forum for any length of time know pretty much what is happening. Most of us have followed what is happening and how our choice to live a healthier life is being threatened. Most of us are aware of what is happening and how long it has been happening. Hopefully this thread will open the eyes of those new to vaping and they will join the fight we have waged for so long to try to save this life saving technology.

Follow the money and one will see why vaping has been and will be demonized by those that are not getting as much of it as they once did.

Ah yes, the obligatory text. The only way I could see that being useful if you are using a non USA post office carrier like UPS or DHL. DHL likes to text me alerts, and I enjoy RECIEVING those alerts. LOL.

Otherwise, I just reverse my home and cell number, there's no way the automated "text me" software is just not going to be confused by that. It's actually a very effective strategy if you ask me.

Man, I received SO many text alerts and emails during my (somewhat lengthy) job search I was able to successfully unsubscribe from most of them, even the spam ones.

I will say, I KEEP the Arizona emergency alert list I was somehow auto subscribed to. I mean apart from the super sad "Amber alerts" I now get, it is horrifying in this funny kind of way how many emergencies there are all the time and the EXTENSIVE nature of the product recalls too and it's like, stuff that will Kill ya. I mean every time they send out their newest list, I'm like, "How have I remained alive, and all this time?"

I don't think that any of us know to what extent the FDA/bureaucrats/politicians are willing to take this whole thing, but I think we can all agree that they are definitely taking it somewhere. The best thing we can do is try to be as aware as possible about the facts and take the necessary and appropriate actions in response. People fighting about what might or might not happen on a forum won't really get us too far, ya know?

out of everyone that has committed I'm 100% with you.that's what my post is about and it seems some people will always take things in some crazy direction.im just giving a head up.keeping on my toes you might say.last month a group of old school vapers, people that have been on this forum for a long time was all up in arms about online id verify.I was telling them it is what it is we all have to do it and how I got kids and I wish they would have been doing the id thing this whole time.to them this is an inconvenience and something that's new which it is.alot of places might have been doing it but I've been ordering for about 6 or 7 years online and I've never been id.I think we all got spoiled, alot of people have a real problem with this.I think alot of kids get there mods, juice and rda's online it don't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.but back to my point something is changing and it's all happing really fast i was just making an informative post.what people fail to realize is new people start vaping all the time so "us people that have been vaping for along time know all this" then obviously this post wasn't for you will informed people that have inside information within the fda it was for cool open minded people to have a nice civil talk not to tell me how wrong I am and we have nothing to worry about.that's how we all lose it all, because we sit by and watch as state and federal laws get passed and never "worry about it" o yea when people say I have nothing to worry about because I've stocked diy and im good to go.you have no idea how dumb that makes you sound to some more then just some alot of people was talking about this on Facebook just the other day.#1 this is a "community" as everyone says so that like saying "I only care about myself so pi$$ on other people i frankly don't care about you so let them pass laws I'm ok" #2 some people just don't have the time or the money so they need things to stay legal as long as possible because some of us care about others not just ourselves #3 I got 7 kids a job so I don't have time to stock pile barrels of vg/pg and have a 10 gallon bottle of 100% nic in the fridge and a spice rack of every flavor.some of us obviously have to fight harder then the great ones that have been planning out the great f.d.a war of 2018 or "juicageddon" as we shall call it

A few counter points.

Is/has vaping been under attack? Yes. Age verification in person and the enforcement methods used are nothing new and THAT is not anything to worry about. Age verification online is also required however there are intrusive and non-intrusive ways to do that. Since you must be 18 or older to get a credit card (not a bank/atm card) using one should automatically count as age verification. I do not use sites that want me to send them a document with my picture or my DL number on it. I will send my DL with DL# and picture blacked out. However that really isn't any more proof of age than using a real credit card, since if a kid can "borrow" dads credit card from his wallet, he can just as easily "borrow" dad's DL and make a copy to send in. So other than increasing my risk of ID theft what did giving them my DL accomplish?

You do not need to stock up on PG, VG, flavorings, batteries, wire, or wick. All of those items have numerous other uses and sales of those items cannot be banned. For instance PG is sold at Tractor Supply Co. for some use with animals. The flavorings we use are food and candy flavorings. If they banned those then candy companies would all be out of business and so many homemade recipes would be impossible to make. The only real thing you should stock up on is the concentrated nic base. It would be wise to have some extra mods and tanks as well.

Vaping is here to stay. Maybe not in it's current form but it's not going anywhere. Now it could wind up that all that is commercially available are Big Tobacco owned pod type systems with only tobacco flavors, so those that are only in it for health reasons still have the option. I do see taxes and regulations potentially driving the costs up as well, so those that got into vaping for cost savings may not be saving anything at some point. Those that stocked up on nic and know how to build/wick coils can not be stopped and will still be saving tons of money.

None of this is to say that we should stop pushing back against draconian legislation and regulation, but in the end you are either prepared for the worst or you are not. Winter is coming, and we ants will not be able to feed the grasshoppers that failed to prepare for winter.

I agree with most of what you say but if the government wants to ban/make it harder to get pg, vg, nic or flavors they can do it and it wouldn't be hard at all.stores would probably have to have a license of some kind to buy along with others.as far as the credit card no it's not proof of age and hasn't been for some time.other then the fact you can go to any store and buy one without any proof of age (which I have a blue bird card it's Wal-Mart's care 0% in fees plus they don't charge you to use it, check it out it's cool) plus i do t have stats but I know personally alot of parent's that give there kids money on pre paid credit cards because it's easy to track their movements and buying habits.using the credit card as age verification is like saying ordering but phone is proof of age because you have to be 18 or older to buy a phone.that's all old school ways of thinking.

There is no way needing a license for buying vg or pg would ever pass, they are in near everything we use day to day. Same with flavors. The credit card point is valid but there are enough companies I trust that aren't asking me for ID or part of my SS# that I can pass on those that do. Everyone has choices here.

I remember a time when you didn't need a id to buy paint or simple duster till junkies started using it.how about simple cold meds you need an id for some.of that too it's simple, they link anything to diy they take it to Congress and it's done.most people wouldn't say a word or complain because making inhalers is controlled.I think it's also in alot of other things but when people say it can't be done with our iron rule at any means to save people government it can and has been done.one guy in here done said government regs killed his bizz because of buying nicotine.flavors are an easy one.people that vape and make diy can't use the stuff with alcohol in it that they sell at Wal-Mart right?or am I wrong?if they that's the case all they'd have to do is make it to where that's all you can buy.trust me I really hope they don't do this but to say that the U.S. Government can't or won't do something is nuts and just being blind to how messed up this system is.I could probably think up 20 more things they've ban or made people change the formula just because it might be used for something else.a whole bed bug epidemic has started just because the government made one thing illegal just to keep dog and cats safe because we all know people aren't capable of watching there own pets.that's big government for ya.if they don't care to start an epidemic what makes anyone think vaping is safe.this is just conversation really.I don't see them completely banning it.but they could.I do believe what you said about tax tho.they need to make up for all that lost tobacco tax revenue and we're it.but if they'd just leave us be I'd be ok with that.just stay out our business.

Like I said PG is used for something with animals. I cannot see them saying Farmer's cannot buy what they need to take care of their cows because of ecigs. Likewise banning the sale of flavors that everyone's grandma uses to make treats at Christmas would be political suicide to even suggest much less get enough votes to pass. Nic is the primary source for concern. However up to this point I haven't heard anything about the banning or really restricting of buying 100mg/ml nic base.

I never said they'll get ban.it'll be easy for people to show proof they're a farmer or they make stuff to get a permit to buy it I say things and people just run with it, it's not hard to implement laws against anything, it's not hard to make something permit buying only.most people that vape would probably find away around it.but the government would be free to see what we did"we stopped vaping by banning all this"plus maybe you didn't see it but they don't have to ban flavors that our grandmas use to use.all the have to do is make them reformulate it to where it don't work with vg/pg it's not hard at all Wal-Mart has lots of flavors people can't use because it don't work with vg/of at all.so many people see in just black and white when there's millions of colors in the middle.I pry all this hype is just that.hype but if it's not when they make favored additives that don't mix with vg/pg don't be mad because "there's no way they could do that" im learning how to make my own natural flavors with stuff added to vg or pg.don't seem to hard.I'm just getting ready for it just in case.but alo t of you guys and woman have some really good thought out points that I do like and have made me think things over.it's cool being able to talk all this out.helps me practice when I talk to the "I heard that's bad for you" people.

Sure they can also make it so you have to have a license and pass an IQ test to reproduce. Honestly, it's not a half bad idea, but it will never happen. It is also possible that a giant asteroid hits the planet in the next year and kills everyone. You can't spend your life being afraid of ULTRA LOW probability events occurring. However, you should probably prepare for higher probability events to occur.

Banning or restricting (other than by age) nicotine base sales is a medium probability risk, taxing it is a much higher probability. Restricting other raw ingredients such as flavors, PG, and VG are ultra low probability. Why? First because so few people DYI, second DIY juice already has a choke point in the nic base, and finally those items have far too many other uses. Really, if you want to stop people from making lemonade you don't have to ban water and sugar, you only need to ban lemons. They can age restrict anything they want, unless they make the age restriction 100 years or older, I think most people here on ECF are going to be just fine with that. The government certainly isn't going to force companies to reformulate patented flavorings for this purpose.

The only real concerns at this point are the mods, the tanks, and the nic base. If you prefer pod type systems over mods and tanks and don't mind tobacco flavored juices, then really you probably have nothing to fear except the taxes. Personally I am planning on buying a few more drippers and tanks, and a case of raw DNA 75C boards. I can always make a mod housing out of nearly anything. Wood, plastic project boxes, etc. And I have some more stocking up to do on 1kmg nic base. Not to mention Mechs are crazy easy to make. Short of the apocalypse there is nothing they can do to stop ME from vaping. I will feel sorry for newcomers but this ant will be prepared.

haha right because when all else fails start talking about "sure the earth could fall out of gravitational alignment within the solar system but I don't think it'll happen" no this is a little more simpler then that.I mean sure someone can compare life altering end of the world disasters that would kill everyone on earth to the fda and the government just making it where people would simply get a license to handle nic/vg or pg but why would anyone do that?I have no clue as to why anyone would even compare the two?kinda lost, I mean if someone really believe those two things coincide with one another that would be crazy.I hate tobacco flavored e juice.I'd probably stop vaping and ether really try and stop or just start smoking again and I hate smoking.makes me sick to even think about it.on another point yes I do believe we should give people iq test to reproduce might make the world a better place and maybe the fda might not be after us.might have some inelegant people running the government that would pay attention to what medical study's are saying to them VAPING IS NOT BAD!!!!!

I wasn't comparing an asteroid/end of the world to the FDA I was comparing the PROBABILITIES of various events actually taking place. Look, at this point we obviously disagree. If you want to be prepared you have to stock up. You can choose to waste money on items that have a very high probability of remaining readily available and thus buy less of the items that have a high probability of being heavily taxed and restricted, or you can choose to focus on the items most at risk. You do what you want. I'll leave it at that.

The new C series of DNA no longer needs to be connected to a computer for most settings like they used to. All I use the computer connection for now is to load new themes or add a custom material and really I do that once per device. I haven't tried a Yihi board I hear they are good though.

i love the fallout game theme for the d.n.a not sure if they have one for the yihi devices.I'd also like to try out replay.I just started messing with temp control and I really like it.I think a lot of people misunderstand temp control.I still get a lot of vaper production but with a lot flavor.most people just assume it's forfor low watts only.
