And this thread is a perfect example of "Divide and Conquer!"

I for one am both pleased and heartened by the banner Smokey Joe placed regarding the opportunity that is available to thwart a campaign by Liz (no vape) Thompson and at least have the opportunity to hinder a politician that has an agenda to seriously curtail our ability to vape and spread a solution that can save literally millions of lives.

SJ started this forum as a tool to advance vaper's knowledge and provide a robust forum to increase the chances that vaping can become a viable alternative to help folks kick the BT habit in a more healthful way and spread the word that there is hope for a dying (literally) segment of society. This alone deserves my respect. But to see SJ endure the ridicule and vehemence from the very forum he created for the good of vaping upsets me at the deepest levels. And yet my respect for SJ grows, because the obvious business reasons for backing off his original stance has NOT overcome his dedication to the greater good as he sees it. I for one back him fully in this worthy effort and now have absolute proof that the ideals he espoused to originally, and I thought and hoped he was committed to, has been proven in my opinion.

Grassroot efforts have a way of spreading quite rapidly, and even though I am not a resident of New Mexico I have re-assessed my ballot here in California and have just changed a key element of my voting. I had planned to vote for a democratic candidate due to their position on a bond measure that I was in agreement with. But after a bit more research, spawned by this thread have decided that the views of vaping espoused by this candidate overshadowed my concerns for that bond issue. I will see the republican candidate win. So this is not just an issue of New Mexico. And I have a turtle to thank for this. So cheers to the turtle!

ECF has chosen to endorse this candidate and theres not a damn thing you can do about it.

Even your arguments against our chosen candidate have had the opposite effect you intended...
Huh?!?

OUR CHOSEN CANDIDATE?

Who you talkin' bout, son?

Care to share the candidate's name? I'm studying my ballot as we speak. :)

I know that Harris and Brown are for bans/restrictions/regulations--Harris is a signatory to that outrageous letter of several attorneys general to the FDA. I wrote to her on two occasions, with links to good science and my personal story; her office never bothered to respond.

Barbara Boxer is another sworn enemy of e-cigarettes, but she's not up for re-election. I wrote to her many times--each time got the same form letter mentioning that "we don't know what's in them," "toxins'" and "the children."

Anybody else?

Just wanted to address one thing here...

>Only leftists would vandalise something they don't agree with?<

Empress... you and I are of similar faith. And yeah... I've had a number of altercations with members of the "Christian Right" over the years because of it (up to and including responding to offers to be used as firewood)

That said: I have seen more aggression, more illegal or immoral conduct, and even more outright violence done by members of the ideological Left when dealing with their opponents than I have EVER seen from the Right.

Jerks exist in every group. EVERY group has it's share of people who are willing to step over the line of civil conduct. But it seems the fringe of the Left is the more willing to transgress

Except for killing doctors and bombing abortion clinics, of course.

I guess I understand why this discussion somehow turned into right vs left, although that was never my point or intention, because IMO it's irrelevant, but neither side is any worse than the other.

Oh I was in no way implying that some leftists don't debase themselves as well.

I was just replying to the absolutism of zapped that implied ONLY leftists engaged in such deplorable behaviour.
