This place is great don't get me wrong. Just rough on the wallet with all the juice and equipment suggestions. I think I have finally found my juice and set up I like after spending close to 300$ bucks. Is it just me or does everyone go a bit overboard when they first start vaping. I am 25 days in and have zero cravings for an analog. To be honest I would spend whatever it took to help me finally kick that nasty habit. I just hope I can curb my vape spending soon.

Presently, I'm close to having spent $1,500.

I've also saved $3,400 from not smoking, so that first number doesn't look so bad.

Then consider that I probably have about 2 years of devices, cleartos, tanks, and DIY liquids on-hand and it looks even rosier!

Expenses will go down if you aren't a hobbyist and don't have to have every new, shiny toy. We should point out that my latest shiny toy arrived Saturday, the VAMO. But I don't have to have every single new toy, just the few that appeal to me.

If you go the hobbyist route your expenses may stay high. If it keeps you from smoking, you'll have to decide if that's OK. I'd be fine with spending the same as I did on cigarettes, others really do want to save money.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, you're not alone on this boat ride. I have been spending for 2 of us new to vaping and going a little overboard making sure we have back-ups to back-ups, not taking any chances for a relapse to analogs. I've now discovered the world of DIY so again more equipment and supplies :?: The silver-lining is at this point I probably could go a few months without buying anything, but what's the fun in that :)

300 bucks !?!?! lol i spend that every month if i let myself. heck thats just 2 atomizers.

its only as bad as you want to let it get, things like gear envy and not realizing there isnt greener grass on the other side is what gets most people. what i mean is once you have a killer set up there really isnt a "need" to try and better it. just maybe improve the equipment a little but the vaping doesnt increase 10fold just because i went from a 40 dollar vamo to a 200 dollar provari. i just dont need to worry about buying another provari if some how beyond reason this one breaks.

most of the time the best way to do it is lay low, enjoy what you got and put a little money aside and once a month buy a few small things to try. after a while you realize there are just different versions of clearos. some work a bit better then others but not much.

I'm probably $400-$500 into it, and I started back in December. There is a learning curve, and I have made some bad purchases. But I've finally found a setup I like, and a few juices that I consider all day vapes. So I'm done spending for the time being. I was a pack a day smoker, and I just like to think of it this way. I used to spend $180-$200 a month on cigarettes. I will recover the money I've spent very quickly. After that, the only money I will be spending is on juice (which is cheap), and maybe some occasional equipment.

I do want to get a provari mini in the future, but it's not something that I feel I need immediately. Maybe in 6 months or so. Even if do turn this into a hobbyist activity, you could probably spend $100 a month, and still come out ahead compared to buying cigarettes. Depends on how much you smoked.

Can you really put a price on your health and getting away from analogs, in my book whatever it takes to get it done.
This last few days was expensive for my SO and I, we spent close to 400.00 but! that is what we would have spent in 1 month on analogs.
And we are set for a while and we ment some really nice people at a vape store. So really I think there is no price you can put on keeping off analogs. Finding that perfect juice is such a quest!

I bought a lot of stuff recently but it'll last me a good while. I buy things for fun too, I have no reason for the last mechanical mod I bought, it just makes me happy so I bought it.

I think it depends on what you can afford vs your interest level as a hobby.

The important thing to me is not smoking, not the money.

The light bulb in a certain dim part of my brain just clicked on when I read this post. Duh. Ive been figuring my spending and my break even date without even taking in to consideration how much I saved not buy in boxes and boxes of Nicorette! The 10 year Nicorette habit I quit almost 7 months ago. I get to subtract about $120.00 a month from my total. That almost chops a year off my break even date. Sooooo I have a little more than a year to break even if I keep my spending about $60.00 a month and that's generous considering I don't need a thing for over two years except maybe Atties. This makes my day

I started to quit smoking. It turned into a hobby. I don't need every new shiny toy but, I want to try so many things. The options are there it's just a matter of finding the right supplier to get what I want from at the best price. I'm also not one to buy knock offs. If there is something from a supplier for $80 but another supplier has a knock off that looks and works the same for $10 I will still buy the original.

As others have said; for some it goes beyond giving up analogs and evolves into more of a hobby. I think the driving factor for the initial investment is finding something that works for you. I went through 4 setups before finding one that worked for me. Once I had the one that actually got me off cigarettes I knew what I needed and bought a more expensive mod. Although, I have recently ordered another cheaper mod, but it was more for backup than actual experimenting. Still looking for the right atomizer though. Once you get the right equipment that satisfies your need you are only left with the recurring charges for replaceable items like atomizers, wicks, juice, tanks, etc. That is, unless you get the itch to start experimenting.

That happens to me occasionally, but then I see all the dust in there and turn the light back off. It's that or clean up.

Congratulations! I was unnerved by my initial break-even date, almost 20 days in. My, how that changed. At this point, my break even date was in early November.

Not needing anything, that doesn't bother me. But you know I'm going to pull the trigger on more T3 cleartos once they clear up the QC problems they're having!
