Well, I've heard that HAS been attempted, but the threads get closed down and the people who start them get points aginst their accounts, because criticizing moderators is against forum rules.

Why doesn't someone sanction this troublemaker for suggesting that forum members blatantly start threads to break forum rules?

Do you really think ECF would do this to class? Do you really think they would consider a petition? She doesnt need anyones support even if shes got it.

I know from running public forums that one thing is certain. You never ever abandon those you put in command. Every call your mods make is or could be controversial from various standpoints. In cases like these you often take the mob stance ... you make a very public banning and look aound asking anyone else. People dont like that but it makes very clear that this domain is NOT a democracy and your rights dont necessarily apply here. Your rights begin and end at ECF staffs will.

Its a tough lesson many think they are capable of handling until they get banned. Then they try everything up to begging and aliases to get back in.

Class isnt going anywhere and that is exactely the way it should be. In case you have been sleeping ECF staff arent ignorant. They are a pretty watchful group. We need that here. People need to remember they are guests at ECF's house, we need to be thankful for our gracious hosts.

When I first saw the petition, I looked for somewhere to post that I disagreed with premise. There wasn't.

I wrote to Jerry because I know he is more up-to-date with forum politics than I am and I wanted to know if he knew what it was about. He didn't and he started this thread as our version of a pro-Classwife petition. (I suppose he could have started his own petition saying that, as Classwife is such a great mod, we, the undersigned, petition ECF to clone her so she can be on the forum 24/7. This thread seemed more practical.)

I've know Classy since before she was a mod. I liked her then and, from what I've seen, her behavior and her treatment of others since she became a mod is the same as it was before.

Are all of the programs on VP outlets for people who are, in my opinion, immature idiots spewing vile and malicious comments about someone who is donating a great deal of time and effort to make ECF as good as it is?

Are some of them adult attempts to provide information to the vaping community? If there is good programming on VP, we shouldn't throw out the proverbial baby just because Kevin has polluted the bathwater.

While I don't shop at many of the suppliers on that list, most of them are well-known and well-established members of the community that are trying to be part of the solution. They may not even have heard the episode in question. If you are considering boycotting them (which they probably wouldn't even know you were doing), I suggest it would be more effective if you write to the sponsors and:

1) supply a link to the episode in question. Tell them to pay special attention to the final portion of the program, after the interview with Smoky Joe ends.

2) tell them that, as financial backers of VP, they are in a position to put pressure on VP to remove Kevin, depriving him of his platform to spew such garbage.

3) if Kevin's show remains on the air and they continue to sponsor VP, you will take that as their tacit approval of his bullying and you will withdraw your sponsorship of their store by boycotting it and telling others to do the same.




A final thought: While KBow's original comment about a vendor was opinion and may not have been libel, the things that were said about Classwife on his show were, in my opinon, slander.

OK, I don't usually do this, but I'm going to have my say here.

Classwife and all the mods have my backing 100% - there is absolutely no issue with favoritism or any of the nonsense that a couple of members are claiming. It's made up by people who cannot take a slap on the wrist, and who are incapable of understanding that we decide how to run the forum, and we do it extremely well. By "we", I mean the admins, mods and the ECF members who have helped craft the rules over the years.

I'm sorry that so many people are clearly envious of the success of ECF, but they should bear in mind that it's a success borne of a common vision and lots of hard work and dedication over a 5 (nearly 6) year period by many people: members as well as mods and admin.

For those people who are genuinely scared of being banned or whatever it is that is being claimed - if you follow our rules, you won't have any trouble. It's really, really simple, and if you do post here like (literally) 99% of people, you will find this is one of (if not the) best run forums on the web.

In fact, it doesn't even really matter if you don't know what the rules are, because if you break one all that will happen is you'll get a rule-reminder!! We just ask you don't do it again.

If you want a forum with no, or next-to-no rules, they do exist and aren't hard to find.

You have my email (moderation@ecf) if you have any real issues with the moderation here. Feel free to drop me a line, but if you send me dumb stuff like pictures of mushrooms, don't expect much in the way of a response.

Wow. I'm surprised by the strong reaction many of you have to Kevin's last show. Calling for a boycott of sponsors…wow, that's some strong stuff.

This is not a first for a program on the VP Live network. It's just that whenever it has happened in the past, it has been a result of something I have done on Click, Bang! - not something done on Kevin's show, VP Live Talk Radio, or any of the other programs on the VP Live Network.

Like I said, I think calling for a boycott is a very strong action…despite the fact that what was said on Kevin's show was, in my opinion, no big deal.

I also believe that viewers and listeners of our programs deserve to get their money's worth.

Towards that end, I intend to do just that. As long as some of you are calling for a boycott, I intend to give you good reason to do so.

Tonight on Click, Bang! I'll give you all a real reason to get upset.

I will unleash hell tonight at 9PM EST.

Well...stupid me, I listened to the show but, mostly only to the interview, less than 5 minutes after I shut it off in complete disgust! There aren't words to express my distaste at what was being said.

However, I was completely impressed at all of SJ's comments. He defended Classy and took full responsibility for everything that happens here on ECF, that, in my book, is a helluva person! Way better than the people who came on afterwards who didn't even have a shred of decency at all. First of all, if you want my attention, begin by being civil, then and only then will I listen to you!!

My grandmother always said that arguing with an idiot is like having a battle of wits with an unarmed person! She was and always will be right!
