I think a Reo is my next step

Hello everyone!

Earlier tonight I got really frustrated with my new RSST. It's my first Genesis style rba. Usually I'm a full time dripper (Octopus, Igo-L, Scar), and my frustration is the fact that I'm not at all impressed with stainless steel mesh. It's fickle. I didn't think the taste was better than my old standby... micro coils with organic cotton ball wick. I think I'm a born dripper at heart.

My question is that when I'm on the Reo website, and looking at their rebuildable drippers/cartomizer, etc, are all of those items for sale in that shop already modified to go on a Reo as bottom feeders? If I purchase those, I won't need to do any modding at home, is that correct?

The Rebuildable Atomizer is ready to go. It's really all you'll need besides the REO (I'd recommend a grand) battery and juice. I'm guessing you already have rebuilding supplies like wire and wick?

Hey Carla, I just got myself my first REO as I'm moving away from Genesis attys, which i have been using since last December

the reo is a VERY nice little thing, very hazzle free, thinking of getting another one for modding it

So yeah, just make sure you buy a RM2 as it comes ready for bottom feeding

that said, I'm also a dripper, until recently my fave dripper were the Phoenix V2 RDAs, I just used genesis RBAs when I got tired of dripping

but now I got a fastTech YK1 dripper and it's AMAZING, very well built, small chamber

I'm rocking that on a provari with ekowool right this second

Flavor is a bit better than on the REO with microcoil, but that's due to being able to set the voltage to what I want

Don't get me wrong, the REO is a GREAT device, but it will be PERFECT once I get hold of a kick 2 to put on it or add a DNA20D to a VV REO body

also, if you are into modding, there is a way to make an ERA or YK1 usable for bottom feeder, I just did the same for an IGO-L yesterday for my DIY feeder

I'm actually thinking about skipping the RM2 for a YK1 modded for my next REO

all in all, go for it, very hazzle free, very nice taste

Hey WattWick! They are the same size as a 2.0. The only difference between them is that the catchcup has been widened to accept more RBA's. it will take any RBA that a grand takes and that's pretty much all the bottomfed RBA's

No modding needed.

I bought my first Reo grand 2 years ago, used it for 6 months. Always chasing a better vape, I switched to VV/VW mods with Vivi Nova tanks and then on to Protanks (V1 and V2), then I jumped on the mechanical/low Ω RBA bandwagon.

Just got a Reomizer and have now come full circle back to my Reo's. The Grand with Reomizer is as good or better than anything I have tried.

Dude, check out this little vid I put together on the grand. This should convince ya It's the same as a 2.1 only slightly (slightly) larger. Look how small it looks in my hands. I'd recommend a grand bro.

What really sold me was the size of the thing, it's barely bigger than a Bic! Between the ability to drip, or I guess squonk, on the go along with such a compact size had my jaw hit the floor. Got my fingers crossed to spot one in the classifieds

Yep Dave, there is really something special about a great bottom feed system. It is so close to actually smoking - hit when you want and squonking is like ashing - every few hits, just give it a squonk and you're good. The best smoke ending invention this world has to offer.

And yes, there are several BF mods that can be had and I'm certain that all work in the same principal but I'm just not the type to try to save a few $ when it comes to something so important in my life - that's why I went with and as long as i vape it will be REO. No compromises, not even a thought that its ever gonna leave me stranded or that an unforeseen accident is gonna render it unserviceable at the moment - just fill it, fresh batteries and its game on for a while. With the grand, it's game on all day and night. Worst case in the grand is swap a battery

I gotta agree about the Grand vs Mini, the 18650 battery alone makes the difference for me, it will last all day.

One thing I would like to add to super_x's post, Reos are do it yourself repairable. Just order the repair kit and rebuild. They will last forever.

Definitely see where you guys are coming from with the size and battery life. The first time I saw a Reo Grand in person, I asked if it was the Mini at first haha.

I'm still a little torn between the two though. My thinking is, my regular mechs for at home where dripping or refilling isn't an issue, and the Reo for on the go, class, etc.

Agh, the worst part is I saw a black Reo Grand for like 100 yesterday. Maybe if I see another one for the right price I'll jump on it to dip my feet into the water . I would be saving myself the trouble of having to buy batteries with a Grand haha.

Edit: A little bit of an obscure question, but how hard would refinishing a Reo be? I've got access to an orbital and belt sander along with a sandblaster and automotive paint. Was just thinking that maybe if I find one for a great price that isn't necessarily my color of choice or had some scars, I could make it more 'me'.

Haha I'm having major size issues too. Can't picture walking around with a Grand in my pants pocket on a hot jacket-less day. One pocket for phone and nothing else, one for wallet with little room to spare. A tubular mod fits nicely next to the wallet, but I doubt a Grand would.

Then again, the Mini with a 3ml tank and 18500 battery would probably require carrying resupplies. Which is even less pocket friendly.

Either way, it's just too much money spent to simply find out if either of them would fill the role I'd buy them for. Will have to give this some more thought... Trying hard to convince myself I need one, and don't have any issues with spending that kind of money. But, it would have to be on something that would solve mobile vaping once and for all. Heck, I'd pay twice that for the perfect end-all setup.

IMO, the 14500 Mini is just too limited for carry, except perhaps for a quick trip to the store. The 18490 Mini 2.1 is the same width and depth as the Grand, but a bit shorter, and with only half the juice and battery capacity. I'd have to carry a plastic case with a spare battery and juice bottle, which is the same size as a Grand. The Grand is by far the most practical.

A Grand can last me all day and it's all I carry--no spare juice or battery. I do have coil building materials and tools at work, and have a disposable LR atty to carry for backup with my pocket change once a coil gets some age on it. I have a nice powdercoated Grand, but also got a tumbled raw aluminum Grand I can let get beat up in a pocket with other things... and polish it out if that ever bothers me.

If you can afford a Grand and Remomizer 2.0 RDA, it's worth spending the money for a trial. Based on a large number of data points from this forum, the probability of not liking it is far less than that of selling all your other vaping gear to get more REOs. That may seem like fanboi chat, but reading the archives here, you'll find it true. Why do so many sell Provaris, high-end mechs/RBAs, and hybrids to buy more REOs when they already have one (or what should be "enough")?

If you don't like it, you can sell it in the classifieds for almost what you paid for it. You can save a little by picking up a REO in the classifieds or when Rob makes a blemished one, but both are increasingly rare events.

Thing is, with shipping, taxes and import fees, I'd end up paying maybe up to $350 for a Grand, RM2 and a couple spare bottles and springs. And the classies isn't an option as I'm not in the US. So, it would have to be perfect

Still contemplating it, tho.
