Hi Snooks ~ nice to see you here! First off, you have found yourself a few thousand "stop smoking buddies" I don't know how to measure how much this forum has factored into my being able to transition completely to vaping, but it's been a strong influence. Since you are on the pc anyway, visit here often.
I am so very sorry about your daughter and I wish you and her all the strength and grace in the world. If you are a reader, I would recommend "The Emperor of all Maladies a biography of cancer" by Siddhartha Mukherjee ISBN 978-1-43941-0795-9 It has had a profound affect on the way I view tobacco and Cancer.
I have no complaint about the price of my ST once I factor in the automatic discount, the free shipping and the forevermore free batteries. Compared to the price of analogs? ST is cheaper. One thing it made me do was look at how much money I spend on tobacco products - that alone was an eye-opener.
Get yourself the USB passthrough, but caution. It is super easy for someone new to all this to take in way too much nicotine at first, and with a passthrough, even easier. It took me a few weeks to adjust to everything and find the mg and usage that were right for me. It's not like analogs really equate to cartridges. I smoked 50 Marlb Reds a day, and yet I can't go above the 12mg without getting ill. I bought 6 (10-packs) to start, and so far I am right on target. But i do have to say that now that I am nearly a month into vaping, I am looking at other options based on personal preferences.
Everyone's journey is different and I am happy that you have found a product that you have confidence in, I think that's important. I have been able to quit tobacco with ST. Using the batteries that come with the kit, it seems like just enough time to have one battery ready when the second one needs a charge (about 3 hours) which is no problem when I am at home.
I like the Almond, Coffee, and Chocolate flavors.
Best of luck to you, and don't be too hard on yourself about the quitting tobacco - it's different for everyone, and you'll know when and if you need to make changes.
BTW, did you ever get the gummy goo off the cartridge?
