just a hypothetical situation ... they just announced millions of cars have air bags that could explode and injure.

Your daughter/son/mother/father is looking to buy a used car ... do you recommend one with the potential air bag issues?

All these cars are not going to have the air bag explode in your face ... do you take the chance for your daughter's first car?

If you answer yes ... maybe a 50w istick makes a nice gift for Gramma to quit smoking with

This airbag recall didn't start with a few random defective airbags and some sporadic injuries ... it took people dying to gain attention.

maybe that is what some are waiting for, before they stop recommending them.
Actually, from what I understand, the Takata airbag recall is not because of the airbags randomly going off. The issue is that if and when the airbag does goes off, the metal housing the airbag is in can shatter and the airbag will essentially drive this shrapnel into your body, much like getting shot by a shotgun.

Heck how about the ipv 4 issue. In busardos video you lick your thumb and the mod stay on when you touch the button.

This latest wave of products from China are junk.
And it only started once they lost competition from other mod makers

You know what a Big part of the Problem is don't you?

How fast is something popular like an iStick (or anything) Cloned?

Does an OEM have the Ability to do thorough Beta Testing? Or Roll Revisions before the Final Release is done on a New Product?

Or does an OEM have to Crank out Units as Fast as Possible and Capture as much of the Market as they can before the See their product turn up on sites like Fasttech 2 weeks after Initial Release?

Not defending an OEM who releases something with Problems. Just say'n that I can Understand what happens in a Design/Manufacturing Loop when the Threat of Cloned products is Guaranteed.

I would recommend the 30w instead...too many issues. My 20w has been going strong since black Friday, but I wouldn't recommend it over the 30w because of the threads alone. Autofiring?! Heck no, because there was no recall on old stock, no lot-numbers to check, no dates of purchase. Call me old-fashioned.

My subaru outback is a 2013, but I called a friend with a 2004 and had her check her vin. These safety measures that companies implement are very important. Shrapnel or a housefire, doesn't matter.

Just think of all the people that are new to vaping and looking for their first 'ecig'.

Most people will just google 'best ecig, popular ecig, cheap ecig,' etc etc etc. The istick will always come up.Most of them don't care to read about things or educate themselves on vaping. 40 bucks? Good enough. It has a little screen on it? Awesome. I can turn it up and down? Cool! That's their mindset. Not saying everyone's like that, but the majority, is. Shoot first, ask questions later.

I know when I first started, I did very little research. I just wanted somthing. Anything. I just wish I could of bypassed all the junk that I went through to get where I am today.

The last thing any uneducated person should be using, is a ticking time bomb. You shouldn't recommend somthing to someone, newbie or not, just cause it's only x amount of dollars. If a person is serious about vaping, they'll thank you later.

Not smoking is priceless. Vaping should be, too.

The thing is, the 30w costs less than the 50w -- and doesn't have the constantly recurring issues.

I really don't think it matters. These are designed as disposable devices, you toss them when they wear out. 90 day warranty implies to me that anything beyond that is a bonus. It's not like you spend 200 bucks on the device. Toss it if you're afraid of it. If mine ever starts giving me problems, that's what I'll do, and consider the time I used it to be good value for money. "ticking time bomb' is a tad over the top, don't you think?

Some of you are also looking past the bigger picture.... and you know it. That issue is that the anti-vaping Nazi's (formerly anti-smoking Nazi's) will use this issue with the 50W to further their argument that vaping is unsafe, particularly if another iStick catches fire.... worse yet, if someone's house burns down.

Hypothetical? Yeah, but also possible. Not everyone visits and reads here at this forum.

But go ahead and shrug it off just like some of you are shrugging off the issue of the 50W problems.

Like I said before I have a Mini Istick with a Nautilas Mini said a stealth Vape and I love it. I also know lots of people love the 30 watt and that's cool. Those don't need recalling. That said I won't buy anything else Eleaf unless they replace the paper weight I currently have from them. That's not hate but why would I continue to give a company that doesn't stand by their products more of my money. That would be the definition of insanity. I don't see anything wrong with recommending the 30 because it's been a solid product. I'm not hating on the company at all. I just don't know why they put a warranty card in my box if they weren't intending to stand by it

So a mod that's prone to bad things happening, is no big deal? Wouldn't buying somthing that will last more than 90 days be a better investment? Why would you want some cheap throw away mod, just to replace it in the near future? I don't get it.
