Laborer, what mod should I then get, should I bite the bullet and order a Chuck and just take the time for a good mod like that, or a silver bullet?

Great, I already told my wife this wasn't for me and that it wasn't fulfilling, I guess I can tell her I wasn't doing it right or something but she too worries that this is bad for me and that since I quit about 2 months ago that why in the world would I do anything like this, Ugh always feels like I am in a no win situation.

I really appreciate everyone's help on this.

it depends on you , and what you want. for me the regular joy 510 is perfectly fine, i have 2 extra batteries and they last me through the day. i dont have any plans on getting a mod except maybe a carto, at work i use about 3 carts and 1 1/2 batteries. i use they joye 510 manual and a case i got from www.strictlyejuice.com to hold it all in

Thanks Brad, I only went with the KR808 as i thought it was the easiest, etc. I knew I should have researched more :(

I am also wondering if I mix up the ration of VG and PG if that will help me out or if I should just stick with 100% VG, but I read that really dries you out as well as it doesn't produce hardly any TH. I guess the place I am at now is that if when I do this all I do is blow out vapor and cannot feel anything, and I mean anything, I might as well as just puff on a straw.

Basically I probably vaped a total of 10 times from Sat afternoon until midnight, then Sunday I did it maybe 6 times. Each of these times was a loooong drag and inhale. Then Sunday night I got a small rash (looked like a mosquito bite) while I was just sittin in the house so that got me paranoid.

Also paranoid that there isn't something hidden in this stuff. Trust me I have scowered the forums and called many different places, ie Nurses, Lung Assoc. While they had to abide by the FDA stuff, they personally told me they were safe especially since I wasn't doing nicotine.

Then of course I have it in my mind that I am still smoking, I know it's vaping, and that is what everyone thinks around me.

I just feel like I am in a no win situation, hope that makes sense.

I really would like to try the higher volts as after listening to the podcast "Vaporcast" they rave about them.

FYI I drip more than anything else - although I stopped using cartos due to the high TH I found on NIC LIQUIDS (in caps cos I wanted to make sure you knew it wasnt zero nic lol).
With dripping though Ive found a few no nic liquids that give me TH - something I personally DON'T want too much of. At 5v the TH on some of those is quite harsh (again, something I like to avoid lol). Some of the doublers from TV seem quite good at giving some TH with 0 nic - I have the butter rum doubler which at 5v does the job. I've heard AC doublers (and menthols) also do it - although I havent had those ones.

Not sure whether Id say keep trying or stop - I'm thinking giving it a serious go to avoid falling off the wagon would be my advice, but dont spend too much if you can help it - I guess its your call but best of luck!

Thanks Capt,

I know what you mean, at this point I have no idea what to do. The little guys on my shoulders say stop go stop go. I kinda feel that if I would have found these products out when I was still smoking analogs it might be different or if that because I have gone 2 months without anything, maybe that is why it is so weird and that my stubborness is what is trying to continue to grasp onto something that I really need to let go.

Man that sux too as I really like all these products as they fit right up my alley. It seems really hard to find something else I can get into that is this intriguing and interesting.

It might be best for everyone as usually when I get involved in something and end up liking it, it either hurts me in the long run or they get rid of it, like really good TV dinners :)

Thanks again everyone else for the advice,

I'm not normal by any stretch of the imagination, but I really don't care about throat hit. . I kind of prefer my throat to be left alone.. That said, I do sometimes enjoy the way this menthol juice makes me "cough like a stoner" as I refer (one "e") to it.

See if you can get menthol or "mint" no nic juice.. That'd be the ticket, I bet!

If you're off, don't ever go back to nicotine, ever.
It's powerfully addicting and you might end up back on smoking.
It doesn't matter if you've been off ten or twenty years.. one or two hits of nicotine can bring the whole addiction right back. Just like that. I've seen it happen, it's almost scary.

Thanks THE, I know what you mean. This time I quit using Allen Carr's method, RIP, and I have no desire to go back to analogs, I am totally done.

Once I researched vaping, I figured I could finally have my cake and eat it too and also this doesn't do any harm but just something in the back of my mind keeps saying if it is too good to be true, well you know.....

Again, I guess it too is because I can relate to what every smoker is or has gone through and that is why I feel like I am so at home here. Oh well maybe I will just go join the quit smoking forums or something....

Hey Ed, sorry vaping's not working out for you!

I think you probably are allergic to the PG juices - a rash is not a normal symptom of the switch. It's an allergic reaction.

Which is a shame, because VG doesn't give as good of throat hit. You could also try PEG juices. Not sure what the throat hit is like on that though. I've only tried PG and VG.

I have a Kr808, and I got lots of throat hit from it, but I'm using 12-18mg nic. I don't know if you'd get any throat hit from any of the standard batteries with no nic and regular juice. None of them run higher than 3.7v, which is what the Kr808 and the eGo are.

I think the cheapest thing you could try was the earlier suggestion of adding a few drops of vodka to you juice. Alternately, you could try strong flavors. Or, you could go with a big battery mod. I don't have one, but I hear a lot of good things about the Big Chuck, which can up to 6v. And it's fully custom made and $80. Sounds like a good deal. If I ever upgrade, that may be the route I go.

But, I also understand if you're far enough along in quitting that maybe vaping just isn't a good solution for you. Still, some stuff to try.

Thanks so much Mistress,

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong I feel great and couldn't be more grateful that I am off the analogs but when I read about vaping, I was like WOW, finally something that is safe, etc. but looks like I was reaching for something that wasn't there due to my situation.

I guess I'll have to find something else to occupy my time, which is a shame because I could have really got crazy with collecting PV's, it was perfect, it was similar to smoking and it involved gadgets as well as would have given me stuff to do, you know like preparing the juice, cleaning, etc. I think I have a little OCD in me as well as an addicting type of personality, when I start something I usually go above and beyond.

I would try either a 510 or a high volt mod but I think I am one of the lucky few that have an allergy to PG and I have been told numerous times that 100% VG doesn't really produce any throat hit unless I drip some alcohol in with the mix.

I think the other issue is, is that I thought this was going to feel very similar to my old smoking habit but the truth of the matter is, it is totally different, which is great but not what I was thinking.

Unfortunately, I think all signs are telling me to stay away, even though I really really wanted this to work for me. Oh well.....:(

I really appreciate all the feedback and advice from you wonderful vaporers :)

To the OP: I'm sorry vaping wasn't for you. It certainly isn't for everyone. I have found that these juices have the most throat hit of all that I've tried: Tastyfinger from TastyVapor, RY4 from Myfreedomsmokes. I have tried a lot of juices, but haven't come anywhere close to trying all of them, but out of all that I've tried I've found the selection of juices that have a nice throat hit is very limited. Which sucks. But I've got to say that one of the juices I listed is by far my favorite. Good luck with everything.

If your allergic to PG you could always try all VG...I just ordered juice from Velvet Vapor and they have ALL VG and even a section with PG FREE flavored nic juice. I'm loving mine and got them in 36mg strength and they produce great vapor, flavor and throat hit and are very reasonable on price. They have sample packs too. I would give them a shot, I know I'm glad I did...I got the PG FREE stuff in the 10ml sampler pack :)

Thanks Bella,

I know I can probably get the TH from nic juice but since I have been off the nicotine for 2 months I really didn't want to open that can of worms again and was hoping that there was some no nic juice that would produce the TH I was used to.

However, I just think my issue is that I was thinking vaping was going to be like smoking which it isn't and that is a good thing. It is probably also that I quit analogs 2 months ago as to why this probably isn't doing anything for me.

I'll continue to try to find something, a hobby, game or something I can get into to transfer my old addictive smoking behavior to. I just think I was getting my hopes up way too much since this seemed perfect for me, being an ex-smoker and a gadget guy.

Thanks again everyone for all the advice\feedback...

I like just the barest touch of throat hit and prefer big clouds of vapor. I got my Chuck yesterday and it produces a lot of TH, even with no nic VG only juice. I was planning to go to 6V with it, but even at 3.7V it's almost more than I really desire. Some juices I can't see myself using with my Chuck.

If you're willing to give vaping with a Chuck a chance, I'd suggest ordering one without custom graphics. If it still doesn't do it for you, you'll have no trouble selling it in the classifieds.

Allan Carr was THE MAN.
You can apply alot of what he says to every facet of your life.

One man I was happy to see driving a Rolls.. he earned it, for sure.
