When I first came to ecf i saw no other reason to vape anything but menthol but I got open minded and saw how others loved the flavors. I got so tongue tied ordering a PV and the nicotine strength that flavors were the least of my problems, my baby step into vaping was a pv and a strong menthol juice but now that I am adjusting well and my baby steps are steady enough, I am ready for the flavors. I gotta admit that one ad on here that shows a picture of a cinnabon and says something like - all the flavor none of the calories - yeah that ad does it for me!!!!!

Hi Robino1, fancy meeting you here! I just came back to see how MelissA was doing. We quit at about the same time. Looks like she hasn't been here in a while. Hope she's doing ok. I was also surprised you didn't put a plug in for HHV. LOL

Oh wow, Boxster's here too. Cool

I had to search back for the date that I posted last in this thread.... I hadn't discovered HHV yet  I think I started with HHV juices about mid October. Wow, just reading back on some of my posts shows my newbie-ness.

A good idea would be to spend a day searching for vendors online and make a bookmark for each one. You should end up with quite a long list. Once you've done that then the searching part is over. You could window shop to find the best priced items.
When it comes to actually buying something then the Ego+clearomizer kit is ideal.
Liquids can be found in most e cig sites and the choices are endless. You will find yourself buying lots of different flavours over the coming months but so do most people anyway.
What the liquids are made from isn't important for now.
Try not to get bogged down with all the different hardware available or you'll just confuse yourself. Anyone that has vaped has had an ego at one time or another !, and to be honest skipping over the cigarette type e cigs would save you months and months of unsatisfying vaping not to mention constant charging.
Clearomizers hold plenty of liquid and are simple to fill. Ego batteries last for hours and if you are busy throughout the day working or what not then an ego battery will last the day.
Most vendors place their own brand names on batteries but one ego battery is the same as the next. So don't get confused with all that. You will find an inexpensive kit that will do the job you expect it to.

And s14sher.... ive secretly felt reatrded reading it but whats the EASIEST way you can explain a tank and a catomizer? Ive read and read but when I think I get it, I dont. What I do seem to understand is you fill a tank and it keeps you a long time, maybe tanks are what keeps appealing to me when I see the "fatter ones" ?

I've been vaping for 3 weeks now and I've read tons and tons about ecigs: cartos, tanks, clearos, vg, pg...and I'm still also baffled by some of these concepts. I got a starter kit from V2 and wanting to expand to a longer life battery and possibly a tank unit. And it seems the more I read, the more I get confused. I never realized there was so much to ecigs nowadays. I'd seen them in the stores and my father bought a cheapo kit some years back and I didn't think much of them until I decided to quit analogs. The many cessation methods out there didn't work for me; Chantix didn't help because you can still smoke while taking it. The patch didn't do a thing; I even put on four once and still wanted a smoke. The only thing that even came close was the lozenges. They helped curb the craving until I got off work and got in my car and chain-smoked 3 analogs on the way home.

I was lucky with vaping. I quit analogs the day I started vaping (3 weeks ago today). Find a starter kit and some flavors and hang with it. You'll get there!!!

Good idea, synthsiggy, but back on post #46 of this thread, Vapoor eyes er got MelissAnnH all set up with eGo Twists and ViVi Novas and I believe she has them already. Doesn't look like she's been back to this thread in a while.

Hey there! I'm a newbie here as well!! I've only recently started but felt the same way you did after weeks of researching. I finally settled on a ego-t starter kit with CE4's from highdesertvapes.com my kit cost under 40 bucks and has so far worked pretty well. I ordered the kit with the 1100 mah batteries & they last me all day. I know you want something smaller so they do offer a cheaper kit with a 650 battery. I was a pack a day or more smoker. Also, the staff at high desert were really great about answering my questions either via email or by phone. I'd send a email & sometimes within a matter of minutes i had an answer! I'm sure ill be ordering some twist batteries soon...because everyone on here has been helpful & suggests always having a backup but for the money this kit has been awesome & I love the clearo's. they're easy to fill & don't need a syringe.

I was also a menthol smoker & so far my all day vape has been Newpark Menthol ordered from Vapesales.com.
Hope this helps!

I am fairly new at all of this as well, I am a diabetic too. I am waiting for some e-juice and hope that I too will be satisfied with the vape of sweets. Does it ever make you want to eat what you are vaping? I worried about that. I chose 3 bakery flavors and 2 tobacco mixed flavors all sweet. I miss my sweets. Anyway thank you and everyone for all the help you provide!

LOL Jeff I know what you mean for some people thats the way it works for them. Me too I would rather vape there is way more flavors then you could possibly ever imagine and never get with an analog. Its also really helped me curb my cravings for sweets which like I mentioned before I was a diabetic I never really had many cravings but its that thing of being told I can't that makes me want them even more now. But the vaping some of the Bakery/Sweets flavors really help that as well. I have a bottle of Halo Belgian Cocoa which tastes just like eating a fine chocolate bar I can't vape it all the time but thats the first thing I go for when that chocolate craving hits and then I no longer feel the need for scarfing down a real candy bar. LOL

Hi Karen. Just going out but there are many diabetic vapers getting along fine. As for flavors it's hit and miss and that seems to be the norm for all of us in the beginning...once you find the right flavors you'll be in heaven.

Hello Vapoor eyes er, and Karen, Yes there are many diabetic vapers out there doing fine without eating what they know is not going to help them. I'm sure you'll find flavors that will help alleviate the cravings for sweets just as any ex-smokers found vapes that kick the craving to smoke. I'm one of them - 3 months without a cig. You can do it, too! If I can make a suggestion - try some of the fruit or desert flavors from Heather's Heavenly Vapes. They are outrageously delicious! When you vape them, it feels almost as if you are eating them and your carvings are satisfied.

Good luck on kicking the cravings for both cigs and sweets. :toast:

Hehehehe..... Well isn't that typical !. And how many times does that happen At ECF ....Huh !........You can imagine how confused people can get though seeing all those differently branded ego's and thinkng they're all different in some way. Hmmmm. I need a vivi nova myself... Excellent value those things.

When I read through (almost) all of this I kept wondering whether you had any "Vaper meetings" in the US...or not...
Back last year when I started vaping I registered in on of the bigger German forums and found out that there is a monthly Vaper meeting in my town. Where vapers meet and talk about anything and vaping.
So I decided to join them. Anybody is welcome at those meetings. We come together once a month in a bar or restaurant where the owner allows us to vape and exchange news about vaping, show off our new mods, help newbies and so forth.
We also invite newbies to join us, as it is really a great opportunity for them to try out mods and atomizers and different flavours of juice.
Do you actually have meetings like this in your cities or areas?

You only need to replace the heads on the Vivi Novas not the whole thing. The heads are somewhere around $3-$4. However, one can rebuild the wicks rather than replace the heads which would be much, much less.

Yeah, I know. They do come with extra heads in the package, at least mine did. But I'm going over the 2 month mark with my
original head, and it's still running strong. I think it's well worth it.
