Didn't realize you had already ordered your's when I posted this. good luck. The links with the juice vendors is still applicable. BTW if you want a good liquid, my wife, who was a menthol smoker loves the juice i mix for her. Its the redhots candy, and the strong menthol from Mrs T's bakery, be careful with the menthol one to two drops at a time till its just right is the best way.

Thank you!

I really love my set up but I gotta admit - sheepishly - i totally over thought the whole buying process. I got my twist last Thursday and I have been using it a lot and havent had to charge it once. I am guessing people smoke a LOT more then I do. I thought a pack a day was a lot. I still find myself vaping ont he way to work - 3 or 4 vapes, they last about 5 seconds long each for the inhale, and at work I do the same then on my drive home then maybe 3xs a night. I havent had to charge it, I am charging it now so I dont run out but I dont think it needs to be charged? I am PRESUMING the light starts to turn red when its dying.

ANyway I am on day 15 of not smoking analogs and I am doing very well with the vaping and the patch now. My lungs feel much MUCH better already. Sadly I am ganing weight since I got my tastebuds and sense of smell back and everything tastes and smells wonderful. But I am increasing my workouts next week so I should be okay. :)

If any newbies are reading this - stop overthinking and just order what I did! But I dont think you will need the 510s for testing and an extra twist battery or extra mini mova, maybe you will, but I am very very happy with one set up I have plenty of time to charge.

I do appreciate everyones input though. I may want to order juice eventually. Right now I am VERY VERY VERY happy with the menthol I have and the insane capor and throathit so so smooth and wonderful.

This is my first post to the forum and I would like to say "Thank you Mellissa for starting this thread!" this has been the best quick start I have read so far and your questions have been spot on to someone like myself as well. Vapoor Eyes, your clear articulation has been a godsend to me and after reading this thread over a week ago I jumped in and ordered the same rig you described. It arrived while I was away on a business trip so at this moment batteries are charging.

While on my most recent business trip I tried out the Blu disposables and found them to be acceptable. Even my co-workers were supportive of my change from analogs to the vaporizors, down to even inviting me to use it during some of our extended work sessions they didn't want to stop due to the progress we were making, ( i wasn't ready to make that step though as odd as it may seem). I also wasn't ready to break one out in the Houston airport during the stupidly long trip home.

This afternoon, I hope to try out the Ego Twist and Viva Nova tank.

HA thats funny I didnt wnat to use in the airport either, just because I dont want to be THE ONE who gets them banned! I did however use them in disney as did a lot of europeans! I really hope you come back and tell me what you think. SInce all I had on my dinsey trip was the disposables I got another brand and was satisfied with them but they DID make me cough a lot, the tank and twist set up doesnt and I get a LOT more vapor action which is so mentally pleasing!

The Very Best of Luck to You Lew. I find threads such as Melissa's also very enlightening and, more importantly, inspiring. To actually be in involved in a thread like this one is most certainly a high point of my membership here at ECF. Whenever I find myself posting in a thread such as this I have always wondered how many lurkers are following along and benefitted from ALL that is posted and I also wonder after the thread has ended how many new Vapers stumble across these threads and also gleam something from them. So glad it worked out for Melissa and also thankful it helped with your choice Lew. Great also see your co-workers are so supportive and understanding....makes a big difference in having those around us supporting our new healthier lifestyle.
Have a GREAT weekend, Dan.

Trust me, there is at least one person reading all these post and learning LOTS. I love threads like this one because these are some of the same thoughts and experiences I am going through. The step by step breakdown REALLY helps. I even read threads that don't have anything to do with the equipment I have, on the off chance that something relevant will pop up. It has a couple of times. :D

So, yes, there are people that have been helped by your tutorials (for lack of a better word).

Edited to add: If people use the search function, that is extremely helpful to people like me, this post may show up even if buried thousands of pages into the forum.

MelissAnnH, so glad to hear you're enjoying your new vaping kit. As I too have finally stopped the analogs, it's so reassuring to read about someone else's success as we go through this. I've been sneaking vapes in taxis, busses, restaurants and shopping centers throughout Bangkok and love the reactions I get from people. So far almost no-one has had a negative reaction, save some fellow teachers in our staff room. One guy, who has asthma, started coughing just after I puffed a couple times on some RY4 juice (FYI, RY4 is a blend of caramel & vanilla tobacco, yummy!) but this guy thought he smelt something like electronic parts burning. (what the heck?) Another guy complained about my Cinnamon Hot Tamale juice, said it gave him a headache. Just goes to show you can't please all the peeps all the time.

On the positive side, my wife and her cousin (both non-smokers) just complimented me on the cappuccino juice I was vaping in the car today. Go figure.

I'd also like to give "Vapoor eyes er" a round of applause for his/her excellent advice. I love the idea he/she had of enhancing voltage markings on the eGo-Twist end cap - brilliant! Why didn't the manufacturer think of that?

I also know how gratifying it feels to help someone out who is just beginning this journey. As a member of MacOSG forum (Mac Owner Support Group) I find it so uplifting to know that someone out there is being helped converting from Windoze to Mac OS X by following our posts and podcasts. In this case, or rather in this forum, it's even more gratifying because the alternative to smoking is, in my opinion, so much more beneficial to people looking to quit. Whereas, the benefits of switching from Windoze to Mac have been arguable and up to personal preference.

Anyway, congrats on being smoke free, and enjoying the world of vaping. The feeling is mutual! Analog free for 4 days now!!!

Cheers, :toast:

You are doing awesome! Wow, you don't vape much at all. I vape mine all the time. You are a very mild vapor
so far, lol! I didn't use the patch at all, just pretty much chain-vaped through the cravings, and now it's smooth
sailing. I gained a bit of weight the first month off of analogs, and now I'm losing. I treat my eGo like it's an analog
and vape on and off all day long.

And it's great you have an extra Vivi, they don't last forever - you either replace them or rebuild, so it's nice to
have extras on hand. Great job!!! :vapor:

You only need to replace the heads on the Vivi Novas not the whole thing. The heads are somewhere around $3-$4. However, one can rebuild the wicks rather than replace the heads which would be much, much less.

Yeah, that's what I've read. I have 2 Vivi Novas coming this week, and it's nice to have the spares, specially if you
don't have the rebuilding heads on hand. I think that's what I was getting at. :D

Day 16 and I am shocked at how much weight it FEELS like I am gaining. Lord knows I am eating a LOT more and with the slow down on my metabolism...I feel wretched, BUT I knew that was the price to pay for quitting analogs and I accepted it, and I know that I can workout harder. I just ordered Insanity, give me something new to get addicted to!

Yeah I guess I dont vape much, I love it but mostly at night on the couch relaxing is my favorite vape time.

WHen I was in the car thhis last weekend with my mom I vaped and she was like the smoke is killing me. ha ha. People react the way they THINK they are supposed to react. My sister yelled at her and said - Mom you cant even smell it. ha ha. :)

As I have mentioned before, I work in a COPD research office. The effects of smoking are real. Its one thing to *know* we could have all winded up on a breathing tank, its another thing for me to see it first hand every day, and SEE how it affects their lives on a daily basis, and know its all from smoking analogs, and they still smoke. Because they *have* to, not even because they want to. Its sad. :(

Hi there again, as I sit here vaping some Frostbite from Mountain Oak Vapors (awesome menthol BTW) I have to say I am down to maybe 2-3 analogs a day and wow they taste nasty. My wife is still smoking analogs and waiting to see how I do on vaping before she makes a jump.

I haven't experienced the increase in eating really but perhaps that is just me, I do vape more than you Melissa but again that is better than the alternative :)

LOLLLL when I began vaping I also gained about 10 lbs but since regaining my lung capacity I've begun exercising and am, once again, active in sports. Went to my Dr this a.m. and he was SHOCKED at my state of health. I told him that vaping not only helped me quit analogs but also gave me a different and new outlook on my health and exercise. I come from an athletic background and have always stressed exercise should be a "happy" time...I only do those exercises and sports that I truly enjoy and have fun doing so it's much easier to get motivated. Previously my GP was supportive of vaping but after this checkup he is just amazed and astounded by the Ecig and what is has done for me. Went to my Dentist the other day and cleaning of my teeth took all of 6 minutes- used to take 1/2+ hr...Dental Hygienist is also amazed at what vaping has done for my oral heath and for the first time my teeth needed no polishing  My Dentist's brother has unsuccessfully tried to quit using everything under the Sun 12 times...recently converted him from 1 1/2 PAD and he's now smoking 1-2 analogs per day.

I seem to vape instead of eat. Hubby says this thing is attatched to me and acts really surprised when I actually put it down LOL. I get to vape great flavors instead of eating them :D

When I first came to ecf i saw no other reason to vape anything but menthol but I got open minded and saw how others loved the flavors. I got so tongue tied ordering a PV and the nicotine strength that flavors were the least of my problems, my baby step into vaping was a pv and a strong menthol juice but now that I am adjusting well and my baby steps are steady enough, I am ready for the flavors. I gotta admit that one ad on here that shows a picture of a cinnabon and says something like - all the flavor none of the calories - yeah that ad does it for me!!!!!

I was the same when I started. All I wanted was menthol menthol menthol. Granted I still love my favorite menthol (Pro-Thol from VaporCastStore) I've ventured out into some other flavors. I discovered I really like banana and the 'sweet tobacco' style flavors from various places. I treat them almost like a snack, sticking them in from time to time when I get munchy!

Congratulations on your progress!

I have four twist & six Mini Vivi Novas. One for each of my favorite flavors that I rotate throughout the day.
May I suggest Heather's Heavenly Vapes. They give you the option to add menthol in different strengths to
many of their juices. I don't use menthol myself, but I have loved every HHV that I have tried.

Hahaha, you're probably going to be flooded with dozens of suggestions of different vapors now. However, something to think about before you run in and buy tons of flavors:

Go for the smaller bottles of 10ml or smaller if avail. There's nothing worse than getting a 30ml/50ml bottle of some exotic flavor and find out you don't like it. :grr: Many juice venders even have assorted sample packs of popular flavors in small bottles.

Take note of the flavors you like best and on your next order you can get larger bottles.

What are you looking for in a vapor flavor? Do you think you'd like fruit flavors, candy, pastries or :pop: something more robust, like a Cherry Tobacco, Hot Cinnamon, or Spicy Ginger? You can also mix it up here, too. Experiment, have fun.

The main thing that's keeping me off cigarettes, aside from the nic fix and satisfying the oral fixation, is how much I'm enjoying the flavors of vapor over the flavor of smoke!!!

PG VG & PEG What are they? This link describes the three base liquids used in making e-juice. Many sites will give you an option of what ratio of each you want in your juice as well as the nicotine level. Pre-filled cartos are mainly PG based, but may contain anywhere from 10% - 30% VG. Presently, I'm using a blend of 80%PG : 20%VG and I find the throat hit (TH) rather harsh. So my next order (coming any moment, now... jitter, jitter, check the mailbox, jitter, jitter) is a 50/50 blend.

OK, that said, here's my recommendation of a reliable and delicious juice vender: Mt. Baker Vapor Outstanding flavors, great customer service and fast delivery at exceptional prices! Also, a couple other bennies for large orders, see their home page for details.

Have fun experimenting,

MelissAnnH...Don't let anyone tell you what to do regarding quitting smoking. You do what's best for YOU. If a person that has hardly smoked OR never smoked in their life gives you advice why the hell would you want to listen to them-what do they know? Quitting the analogs is one of the hardest things anyone can give up on. It's daunting..depressing and you get lots of moments when you think you can't quit-BUT there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.
Trust me it will be one of the best decision you have/will ever make.
BUT i know i couldn't have done it if it wasn't for all the 'e-cig/vaping' alternatives out there. Now i get excited about trying out new flavours, whereas before i was smoking BORING old Marlboro Menthols :D
