I personally would rather base my buying decisions on a thread that allows for responses. Quieting those who would ask for more information or disagree with the posters position will allow people to vent but are very one sided.

I read the post 420 is referring to and my honest and unbiased (I do not know him or the supplier he was having issues with) leaves me feeling that the supplier horribly failed to provide proper customer service. I would not buy from this supplier. Though emotional this post WAS helpful and clearly showed what can happen when things go wrong. Customer service is always easy when things go right!

What you are proposing is an interesting social experiment that I will enjoy watching, but seems to show very little purpose than allowing people to vent one side of an issue and leaves a big opening for trolls to bash unfairly. I would love to see 420 do a post with his experiences in the review section, where it is out of control of the supplier he has issues with.

taryn thanks for your input.

i agree with you on the point that it is onesided but everyone is on a side!ive just gotten so many pms in the last few hours of members new and old afraid to speak up because "its not worth it all the stick i get for posting"...members are drowned out so much by an overwhelming amount of posts and threads and responses that the messages dont get across. this is definitely not a perfect response to the issue but its a trial as you say and we will see what happens. it may very well turn sour if we allow it to but this site is full of good people and honest people who have real experiences that are not being dealt with...

we all have a mind of our own and will take what we want from any posts on this thread but it may become apparent over time that the posts are showing a pattern???who knows...we will have to wait and see...

I will read both the things posted in this proposed sticky thread and the threads on the suppliers forums. It's just hard to get past some suppliers cheerleaders to see if there are consistant problems or not, not to mentiin the 'magic disappearing threads' issue on some suppliers forums. I certainly wouldn't avoid a supplier based on a couple of complaints but I do want to know about them.

I agree with Taryn ..... I prefer to see BOTH sides of a story .. before forming any opinions .... the way it's being presented now .. you're only showing (the new people?) the negatives ... and yes .. you can find all kinds of "cheer leading" on any given sub-form, but oft times the new person doesn't even make it that far before deciding what they want ....... just a thought :)

ya know this whole experience is getting a little too much for me . I came to ECF for help and guidance , also to pass that along . It has been an aggravation at times. I am at the point I would rather go back to smoking . I know when i buy a pack of cigs that they are good and do not have to worry about them failing . at this time I do not have a good or bad opinion about e-cigs . I have broke even with it and have learned some things . I will not encourage or discourage others from using e-cigs . good luck to you all with it , I hope it works for you all .

ladycats i agree with your post.as you feel so strongly on this point and i am inclined to agree with you as the forum is for newcomers who want to see both sides of the coin the right thing to do logically would be set up a positive thread. I will set it up now but same rules apply about no replies in keeping with the clear concise info? would that be ok?

My sense of fair play and all that :p It just seems that is more fair to the new person and to the vendors .. if someone has the good and the not so good opinions .. then they can make a more informed decision ;)

as regards the link keyzgirl i dont actually know...its a social group so you have to hunt it down in the social group forus section???

ladycats im glad you mentioned it...my only hesitation is that its straying away from what the sticky forum is for...its to help noobs avoid the mistakes we made so its not quite relvant to that particular forum...but for the greater good and to show a balanced forum it was a wise point and glad to have put it up...if anyone asks why its there im sending them your way...haha only joking!!!

i hope no one feels like they cant post in there now?now thats theres a good to balance the bad its fair game for any takers....c'mon be brave(i mean that for both threads...only if u have a valid point to make in the problem page of course!)

All forums have the same issues as ECF, the help and guidance is there too you just need to find people you can connect with and relate to. Is your frustration about ecig smoking purely based upon forum frustrations?

Ecigs are a fairly new and rapidly growing technology, I consider us similar to Beta testers for when the FDA finally sees how fantastic ecigs are! Just like any other Beta testing there will be problems and issues and evolutions but it's a fun ride!

If I can help you in any way feel free to send a private message and I do hope to see you around in the future.

Maybe this site should get a new section added, called "the crap list" so people can post there about bad encounters they had related to ecigs and everything...? Just an idea.

There is a section for reviewing vendor problems. Discretion Advised - E-Cigarette Forum it would be great to see it used more! Its a fairly recent addition so hopefully given a little time it will fill out.

I wasn't aware that only negatives will be allowed. My impression was that both good and bad experiences could be detailed just only 1 post per supplier per person.
