Wow... a lot of new Vapers in here...

Here's my best advice...
I started out with the "cig like" e-cig. I used the pre-filled cartomizers. KEEP IT SIMPLE!. Don't go for the big guns right outta the gate.. give yourself time to get used to vaping and an array of juice flavors before you move on to CE's or Tanks or Mods.

I had 2 packs of analogs left when I got my e-cig. I traded every other analog for the e-cig... then I moved up to 2 e-cig for every 1 analog and so on. Within 3 days I completely quit analogs and never looked back.

After about 3-4 months.. I stepped up to e-liquid and ce2's. When I made that switch I moved to NON tobacco flavored juices. Give me a tobacco flavored juice today and I GAG! It wasn't until about 6 months ago that I finally stepped up again to Ego batteries and tanks. I'm not a Modder... I like to keep it fairly simple. You'll find there are some pretty complicated mechanisms out there in Vapeland.

This is what worked for me... I can't say it'll work for everyone... But I am proud to say that I am now at 600 days ANALOG FREE.

Be sure to check out the ECF InfoZone - The is the E-cigarette Forum Information Zone, for all your ecig needs. Tons of great info and tips in there.

Just remember that when you first start vaping... it's a lot of trial and error. You'll need to try different things to find what you like and what works best for you.

As far as the "banner" or signature goes... You have to have 15 posts before it gives you that option in your settings. You'll find the ECF banner here... ECF Signature Banner Generators
I hope this was helpful.. See ya on the boards!!

This thread is pretty inspiring! I too share your journey. Everytime my little one catches me sneaking outside for an analog she goes "WHY AREN'T YOU USING YOUR E-CIG?!" lol! I really enjoy vaping. Right now I'm in the battle of finding the right juice. Hope I get the hang of it soon and you do too! Good luck! :)

Wow!!! Thanks to everyone for the votes of confidence and the words of inspiration! I am interested in hearing more about the vape meet in Minneapolis. That is only a little over an hour from where I live. With so many people here that have gone the vaping route and never looked back, I do feel like I am "home" or at least in a home where I want to belong. My family has no idea I plan on quitting this week. I figure why get them all worked up if it becomes a huge failure... which I really, really don't want to have happen!! And WHEN I do quit, won't everyone be surprised!! :)

Any words of advice on what type of equipment I should go with first time 'round? Something easy to fill, less likely to leak, small enough to take with me everywhere... you all know what I mean. I will undoubtedly be relying on it quite heavily in the beginning. I had planned on going today, but thought I would ask some of you what you recommend.

Anyway, A HUGE thank you to all who inspire me to fulfill my quest for my very own "I QUIT Banner!!!"

Ameera - are you on Facebook? There are a couple of Minnesota vaper groups on there - they're a tad more active than the MN board here on ECF.

https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/MNVapersAdvocacy/

https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/MLoDV/

The first link, MN Vapers Advocacy, is focused mainly on the political aspect of vaping, and sharing news locally and nationally about issues that affect the right to vape. The second one is the MN League of Distinguished Vapers, which is more of a social group. :)

THANKS so much for this info!! I am getting ready to head to the local vape shop that just opened up to get a feel for what is available. I know a lot of people advise not to go the b and m route, but I need to see and feel these devices before I buy one. AND there is a tasting bar.. soooo no guess work by descriptions given online.

I am so inspired by everyone that has responded to my post that I can't WAIT to get to the store and start vaping! Thank you soooo much for all the words of encouragement. I CAN DO THIS! And I am still keeping it a surprise to my little ones and hubby, my fingers and toes are crossed that this actually pays off. Smoking has really ...... me off for a long time, so hopefully with that in mind I can turn a new page.

Ya'll mean, there really is a Lake Wobegon?

LOL!! NO there isn't but I live in the real town where Garrison sat in the local cafe many many moons ago and was inspired to create "Lake Wobegon" and the stories that he tells were inspired by the the local chatter in the early morns at said cafe. I am not from here, but from what I hear, Garrison would sit at a certain spot every morning and gather in the local color.. and tales from the farmers and the church basement ladies.. (which is all you can find here anyway, at any given time of the day...) ROFL!

Hi Ameera

good luck on your quest...!

what ya need is something that kicks your ....
BIG Vapor and some Strong Nicotine to get you thru the initial conversion...

something simple and durable so it just 'works' while you learn the ropes of vaping...

best I can think of is an EVOD Style set up (evod tank & ego battery)

like this : http://www.vaporbeast.com/Kanger-Evod-Full-Kit-p/35-0212-000.htm

it's what worked for me after 40+ yrs of heavy smoking...
get some 24mg nicotine and some spare atomizer coils (for inside evod tank) and just vape your old habit away...

good luck ; YOU CAN DO IT ... ! :thumb:

Good thing I didn't make it to the store today.. that looks like exactly what I need! I know one girl I talked to the other day went in to the local B and M and she and her boyfriend both walked out of there with ego CE5's I think they were. I have read that the CE5's tend to be quite leaky. I asked her about how the refilling went and she hadn't tried it as of then... But the evod looks nice, simple and a perfect starter route. Must wait until Friday to go shopping though, so hopefully they have plenty of options for us noobs! :) Thank you for the tip and for the vote of confidence. I am sure I will be back after shopping with all sorts of.. "What the HELL do I do now" questions..

sounds good...

I'll tell ya there is a lot of great devices out there which most work pretty darn good
but I just think the EVOD system works great, easy to figure out, simple to keep running, clean and cheap...

it just works--then if it stumbles it's just 3 basic things that could be wrong
is there juice in it / is the battery dead / is the coil fouled (add juice-charge batt-change out coil)

it has simplicity that keeps you vaping while you learn the 'knack of vaping' and with some good juice (24mg?)
takes your mind off "the other" until you if/want to step up to the big $$ stuff haha

you and the evod together can do it

http://www.vaporbeast.com/Kanger-Protank-Replacement-Head-5-Pack-p/64-0149-005.htm

went to a normal Doctor app the other day, and he worked me over as usual
" are you eating good? are you exercising? what about your smoking?" told him, I QUIT ! -- he said,
that felt REAL GOOD...

So what is needed in order to earn the banner? quit smoking since December of last year!

Click on any persons banner and it will/might send you to the site where you can down load them to your places. You need like 25 post in this site or so before you can have a lower signature thing. be it what ever. I am not sure about that number, but all you need to earn it is not smoking!
