Hi Iszabella and welcome....I've been following your thread and had to say welcome......
I too washed everything I owed and replaced what I could not clean......as to the ceiling(yes, took me 3 times before I was happy) I used the swifter with the clorox wipes on the end.....great for those hard to reach areas.......
Sounds like you will do fine with vaping.....Since I discovered the 'flavors' ----I have been having so much fun.....I too relate with many of the posters here as my sil once told me that life was passing me by because I was missing out on much of it by always taking smoke breaks......
Glad you found ecf...

That is one of the things that I had to force myself to face and to admit. Your sil is right - smoking has become an isolating thing for me.

as to the ceiling(yes, took me 3 times before I was happy) I used the swifter with the clorox wipes on the end.....great for those hard to reach areas.......

Clorox wipes! Of course! Those can be used for just about everything...moldings and baseboards and the inside of the recessed lights, doorknobs...and apparently, ceilings. They have been added to the shopping list!

Some people come here for advices on flavors; me, I'm here for the cleaning products, lol.

First off, congrats on switching....sounds like it's working out well for you....secondly, if you're getting pre filled cartos from v4l, don't toss them when they are spent....you can easily refill them with e liquid, and save some cash....one nice thing about v4l, is they sell the juices that they use in the pre filled...
Good luck to you, and welcome to vapeville...

Making my own! Ha! I'd be afraid I'd poison myself somehow. Which is ironic considering how many cigarettes I've smoked in my life!

But....the flavors! That has been such an unexpected bonus of all this. I figured that something that mimicked smoking well enough and gave me the nicotine would be a major step up from gum and patches and blowing through straws.

I wasn't expecting flavors! It's causing me to reframe what ecigs are in my head. And what they can be to me.

You know how it is with smoking: you light a cigarette, smoke it, and smoke your way through the pack, and then open a new one. You don't switch in the middle of a pack to another brand to get a different flavor of smoke.

But you can (and I'd even argue should) do that with e-cigs. Mochachococcinohazelnuttynutnut goes great with coffee! Vanilla tastes really nice after eating some raspberries or any fruit, really. So I've been switching to different flavors depending on what I'm drinking or have been eating. And that's been fun! I have more flavors coming this week, so am starting the mailman stalking thing.

Someone quick, please tell me what flavors are better when drinking alcohol! I tend to favor chardonnay and pinot grigio, as well as margaritas, mojitos, and good vodka with soda or vodka tonics (with limes). Not all at the same time, of course.

I'm happy to report that my house smells cleaner than it has in years, and no longer must I do the frantic air freshening when expecting visitors!

Even better, I'm feeling good, too, and am enjoying vaping rather than hatin' life because I'm not smoking. I traveled on business last week, and had the easiest time in the airports, on the flights, the hotel, everywhere.

I've read many posts thanking ECF and all the members here who are so willing and happy to help a new vaper get started...or to help an expert vaper with their box mod/burnt cartos/cracked clearomizers/TSA advice... I really want to add my thanks as well, because I have felt so welcomed and supported here, and have learned so much from everyone!

Thank YOU!

It was such a freeeeee feeling while traveling! No need to suck down cigarettes before going into the airport, no need to rush out after landing to smoke, no problem with the non-smoking hotel.

When I returned home, there was a huge line for taxis at the airport, and I just happily vaped while in line. I was kinda hoping someone would ask me about it, but I don't think anyone even noticed.

I think that's one of the great feelings about vaping: Freedom. I'm not shackled to my pack of smokes -- or perhaps more accurately, I'm not shackled to places where it's still acceptable to smoke them. I vape at home without the bother of the smell or the smoke. I vape outside when it's warm, but I can stay inside when it's cold. I can even vape at work -- my co-workers and bosses think it's a great idea and are completely behind it, so no more going outside and freezing my how-ya-doin's off when I need a puff.

Congrats on making it this far -- and keeping it going. :)

Hello Izabella,

It's been a couple weeks since you started this thread. Have you dropped the smoking habit completely yet? I've been at it for less than a week and this is the first day I haven't had an analog smoke.

Last week, my business trip was a turning point for me. I had still been smoking a few each day, not for any real "need" but just because. I didn't want to tell myself I couldn't smoke at all, otherwise I felt I'd turn the vaping thing into a chore rather than an adventure.

But I decided not to take any cigarettes with me on my trip, and didn't miss them at all. Granted, it was only 3 days, but a huge, huge victory for me! I voluntarily chose not to smoke, and chose to vape instead - it wasn't one of those, "&@#$!, I can't smoke" feelings, but a "nope, not interested in smoking" feeling. I don't know when that's ever happened before, if ever.

When I got back, I didn't immediately rush to have a cigarette again. It wasn't until Saturday night after being out with friends drinking that I decided to have another smoke. The cigarette made me feel a little queasy, and I realized I just didn't want them anymore.

So, at this point, I'm not smoking at all. But I haven't forbidden myself from having another one. It could happen, but I'm not concerned about it. I look at my banner and see how many I haven't smoked since I started vaping and woohooo!

And then I ordered more flavors over the weekend.

It's funny you mention that because for me, that was one of the biggest advantages of vaping. I knew it worked of me. I knew I didn't need a cigarette either, but I knew that vaping worked for me so well that I could have a cigarette if I wanted to and not get hooked again. Vaping removed their hold on me, and the ability to think in terms of "Sure, I could, but I just don't want to" made it that much easier to just not have any at all than wanting them more because I'd forbidden myself from having them. I really didn't need to forbid myself. It just felt completely natural and stress-free. But the thing about going full-time with vaping is that your tastebuds and sense of smell bounce back really quickly. Three days away is enough time for them to have bounced back enough that smoking starts to taste bad. Give it a full week without a cigarette and then try one and I think you'll find you can't even stomach them anymore. I did my own smoke test after my first week and hated it. It was absolutely terrible and just reinforced my love of vaping.

That's exactly how it is for me. If I forbid myself, then I feel like I'm depriving myself. And that never, ever works.

It is, of course, a HUGE help that vaping is an excellent substitute, and is even better than smoking because it gives me the parts of smoking I enjoy without the stuff I don't want at all. None of the other methods such as patches and gum even came close to working, and certainly weren't as remotely EASY on me as vaping has been. I'm at the point I just don't think about smoking because vaping fills my needs just right.

I have to give V4L a shout-out, because their products have all worked properly and fit my vaping style so well that I am HAPPY about not smoking. Yes, HAPPY! Who knew that would ever be true??

Congratulations to you, Mindfield! Happy vaping! :vapor:

That's exactly how it was with me as well. I didn't try the patch (I knew it wouldn't work anyway; passive solutions are no solutions at all) but I did try the gums and the inhalers and neither of them worked worth a damn. The gum just tasted like gum and my body didn't register any difference; the inhalers were like clapping chalkboard brushes together and inhaling the resulting dust cloud. Vaping is the closest thing to smoking on all fronts that matter, far healthier, and much, much tastier.

I have to give V4L a shout-out, because their products have all worked properly and fit my vaping style so well that I am HAPPY about not smoking. Yes, HAPPY! Who knew that would ever be true??

I haven't tried them yet but they're on my list of vendors to try (which is about as long as my arm at this point). I just ordered 15 flavours from Juicy Vapor (a 10-bottle 18ml sampler and a 5-bottle 3ml sampler of stuff I'm not as sure I'll like) which I think should be here this week sometime, so I'm looking forward to trying them.

Congratulations to you, Mindfield! Happy vaping! :vapor:

Thank you, and to you! It's been an excellent, if slightly expensive ride for me -- but even with all my spending I'm still spending less than I did on smokes, so I'm still coming out ahead. Can't beat that with a stick.

i am new to this myself, kinda had the same journey that you have had, my sister bought a kit and i tried hers one day and thought well yea maybe, ... someday. then as i was laying in bed and heard what sounded like a calliope at the carnival, it was me gasping for air. i though "hell why not, what can it hurt" so i was the intrepid soul and researched the e-cig phenomena and tried the Blu. not a bad start but then i found the rest of the vaping world.
my sister and i both took the approach of not putting the restrictions on ourselves of "quitting" to big a thing to do. we started with today. We did the analogs and the e-cig at the same time for a couple of days. now we are just on the vapor train.
My boss and me jumped in and discovered the vaping community and this forum. man this is a great place lost of support, and i can breath again...glad you are here and me too.
