I received my first IBTank yesterday. I filled it the way the sintructions said and also primed it in the "thingy". This is my first carto so I am still knew to it all. Every time I take a hit, it is a very loud airy sound. Did I do something wrong or is it suppose to be like this? Vap production is so so.
Any time you ask a question about why something does or doesn't do something, or about quality of vapor - it's a good idea to include technical information - in this case, like... brand/type of carto, the carto resistance, voltage or wattage being applied and with what brand/model APV. Include battery version if applicable.
In the case of "Vap (sic) production being so so"... it may be that your voltage or wattage is set too low, or you are using a high PG content juice, or several other factors that all contribute. Lastly, what is your reference point for adequate, or better than "so so"?

By "take a hit" do you mean draw in vapor, or hit the fire button? Carto tanks (or rather the carto coil/wick design itself) will make a sort of low "sizzling" sound when power is applied. This is normal... as would be a "popping" sound when the power button is initially hit.
In the context of a "loud airy sound", any sort of sound like sucking air through is small orifice is just that... sucking air through a small orifice.

Cartos can be quite loud - kind of a whoosh when you inhale, sometimes with crackles and sizzles. If you aren't getting a burnt taste, the sound alone doesn't indicate anything is wrong. Some cartos are louder than others, even if they are the same brand. If you got the carto from IBTanked, it's a Smok(Tech). You might try IKenVape or Boge in the future, each one is a bit different.

As far as the vapor production being "so-so," do you mean it's not what you expected or compared to another device you have used the same juice in? What is the pg/vg ratio? The resistance of the carto? The power level? All of these elements affect vapor production.

I have the 19mm XL using 2.0 ohm cartos at 4.1 V. The liquid is 50/50. I have no burnt taste at all. Everything seems fine I just did not know how loud they were. I currently use iClear30s.

Yep, they can be loud. :) As I said above, you might try other brands to see if you prefer them.

Oh yeah, EVERYTHING is loud after using an iClear 30s...lol! i have an IBTanked and I love it. It sizzles and fizzles but that's fine as long as you aren't tasting burnt ick, and getting dry hits.

Dang I guess I should stop throwing those away after I take them off. That's handy.

I was going to clarify that, but I figure we also fiddle our thingies around here so...why bother

(yay 200th post!)

My attention span isn't long enough to fiddle with a thingy. I tried, I really did, but I got bored, and my wrist started to hurt. I also tend to prime more than one carto at a time, and while I have more than one thingy it's easier for me to be shaking one while another sits (as in my method). Like I said, everyone has a different way of doing it. Every time I read of a new method, I give it a try.

I over-fiddled my thingy once it wasn't pretty. definitely going to try the condom idea next.

If you follow my tutorial, you'll see it doesn't matter if you flood it, no matter what method you use. I often semi-flood them on purpose if I'm in a hurry (read that as I'm getting bored).
