I don't mind refilling just not having to top off every 3 hits just to keep the atty from tasting bad. Cartomizers are not cost effective. I like all the flavors, mixing and fooling around with my PV...just not ALL the time. Sometimes I have other things to do, ya' know? :p

I want something that has good vapor and a good TH. I find the 510 provides this most of the time, but not consistently. I like that I can stealth vape and no one asks me questions because it looks like a pen.

Well if you find that model please let me know cuz yes they can be a pain. In my experience the 901 is totally not that model it was a total pain in my azz and I so dont miss it. 3 hits must be an exaggeration cuz I get about 10 and thats with no cart filling at all. I am kinda wondering if maybe changing your cart filling would help or try taking all the filling out of a cart and direct drip on the atty.

Anyways all I can tell ya is switching to a 901 isnt the answer IMO even though my 510 gives me probs from time to time its way better than a 901 IMHO however if you want a 901 Ive got plenty of stuff for them if you want to trade 501 for 901 stuff pm me.

How do you like that SD Im thinking about a mod but want 5v.

Brewster, I love the SD. It has a very nice size and the button on the back is very natural and effortless to use. I actually use it more than my xhaler. Not on purpose but it just seems to work out that way.

Brewster, I use the rn4075 on my screwdriver instead of the 901. I do keep a moist cart in it but I drip mostly. I like having the fresh flavor each time I use it. I have used the 901 at 3.7 and 5v. It definitely produces more vapor at 5v. It might sound silly but I like the flat mouthpiece of the 901 and that is most likely the reason I have stuck with the 901 and rn4075. I do have to admit that the 510 is still my favorite though.

Thanks for saving me some money. :) Yeah, 3 hits is a bit of an exaggeration but not much. I can't let the atty heat up at all or I start getting the burnt taste. Tried blue foam, fluval, straws and more straws. :nah: I think I'll try the Everclean bath, but I have no idea what that is or where to begin looking for it...grocery store, pharmacy, liquor store???

Here is my take on the subject.

    Hardware:
My very first purchase was the best kit that Premium E-Cigarette sold (PR-111). It was OK but it wasn't what I needed it to be, as a full replacement for analogs. I needed something stronger that would more closely duplicate the smoking process and cheaper to replenish when I needed to resupply.

I then bought my first 510 kit (@1/2 the cost of the Premium unit) and found it to be exactly what I needed to totally quit analogs. Nice throat hit. Lots of vapor. Easy and cheap to maintain. I have since added to my collection of extra parts to insure that I would always have back-ups and never run out of anything.

    E-Juice:
I tried experimenting with flavors but have found that I always go back to my menthol tobacco mixture. I had smoked menthol analogs for over 35 years and I was quite satisfied with that flavor, so why switch now. Besides if I want something that tastes like a Jolly Rancher Watermelon Candy, Cotton candy or a cup of coffee, I'll just go buy the real thing.

I could probably spend hundreds on hardware and juice to see if there is something out there that is better for me than what I already have, but I don't see any sense in doing that because what I have works great for me. Yes, something that never runs out of battery power or E-juice would be great but how portable or convenient would it really be.

I guess that the choices that each of us make in flavors and hardware are based on our individual needs and the reason that we started to vape in the first place. I personally started vaping to quit analogs and I found the perfect alternative with what I have.

You're not going to find that cuz it is illegal here I noticed your in Cal as well as I am. Well at least I think I am right as I think youre referring to an everclear bath but with so many different things people are doing I may be wrong. Are all your attys doing this? Im almost tempted to send you one of my attys and test one of yours but then again why do I want a bad atty? So did you try direct dripping on these attys? Direct dripping is removing all of the stuff in the cart and dripping directly on the atty that should at least tell you if the atty is bad.

That's why I've never heard of Everclear! LOL When I direct drip the taste is muted some by the juice flavor but it's still there. I have 8 attys all doing the same thing all bought in January, all Joye's. There are other threads that mention a problem with the nickle used in the wick. I'm not the only one having this problem, but I'm afraid to say too much more.

Well you shouldnt be afraid to say anything thats what these forums are for if people are selling crap then we need to get the word out to keep our fellow vapers from getting ripped off. I see you are in the North Bay which I am im Rohnert Park and if that is close to you I would be more than happy to let you try a 901 and check out your attys. I buy my attys at www.ecigsupply.com and have been very happy with both the prices and quality.

If I could do it all over again, I would have not purchased the SE or any of the 510's that I got when I started. I did enjoy my SE and 510's, but I probably spent a lot more than I should have.

If I were to start today knowing what I now know. I would have a whole box full of 510 atty's and I would have a DSE 905 for a 3.7v pv and maybe something like The Chuck for a 6v pv. I would only buy tobacco flavored juice since all of the candy, soda and fruit juices I have purchased just don't seem to taste very good to me. They do taste a little better in my SE or 901 than they do in my 510, but most of them still make me want to wretch.

The bottom line is that at the rate I vape, a big battery is a must.

If I could start again I would have never bought the RN4081 that I started with, What a waste of money. I would have gotten just a plain DSE 901 and go from there. I would then just buy Janty E-liquid and some hookah e-liquid instead of wasting all the money I did trying to find a brand that I liked.

Straight to Johnson Creek and the 510 with a big bat mod. Started with the BLU ordered a sample kit from Arno at awesome vapor. The battery on a mini(BLU or whatever) is just not enough for me. I was worried about battery everywhere I went, especially at the bar. I made a nico stick and now thats all I need to last all day. Now that I have taste buds I can really appreciate the flavor of JC juice, but I still have some tweeking to go(PG vs PV). I've only been vaping for just under than a month, but I have read and watched you tube vids soooooooooooo much about it since that time.
