If I could start over with my e-cig experience I most likely would have gotten the Xhaler and just stuck with it, using 510s and 901 attys. I would not have begun the search for a more attractive PV.
It has been the most reliable of the ones I own.

As for juice I would have ordered a large bottle of Drewbacca2 and a bunch of Mrs T's juices (wish she had 30ml) and left it at that.

I could have saved around 300$ doing this.

My first PV was "The Fifty One" Duo. It reminds me of a KR808, and I've read that you can fit the cartos on a KR808-A. (I belive my adapter is a KR808-d). I absolutely LOVED the Coffee,...then I bought a package of their Chocolate,... Been searching for that flavor ever since. (reminded me of unsweetened chocolate baking powder).
I took it back because I didn't like the battery life. First battery would die before the second one was charged leaving me haning for 10-15 min with no vape.

Then I got my 510, and I love it. Three days after getting it I quit smoking analogs, (thats when I finished the pack I had, and never bought another one.)

Since then I've picked up a 510-901 adapter and a 510-801 adapter, and their respective atty. I instantly understood the posts I read about the 801 and throat hit, and the 901 and flavor.
I won a package of KR808-d cartos in a contest here on ECF and liked them, but not as much as my others.

Along with that I picked up a bunch of Loranns flavors before I knew what I was doing. I ended up with Lemon, Orange, Anise, and Clove that are oil based and not usefull for vaping. I got a great deal on a gal of 99.7% pure VG, and found that I can get PG for arround $5 for 4oz at a compounding pharamacy two blocks from my house.

If I had it all to do over, I'd go right to the 901, then get an adapter to go to 510. (I'd skip the 801 till later) I'd get the PG/VG and order 60ml of 100mg unflavored, a DIY kit from DIY Flavor Shack (my next order), and the RIGHT flavorings.

All in all, I'd probably be just about where I am, with the only real change is waiting on the 801, and the differences between the 510 batt and the 901 bat.

Chuck, Lil Chuck, Batts for the Chucks, more than 1 charger for the batts (chargers are weird), blank Carto's (for use with the Chucks at 3.7v & 6v), juice from Tasty Vapor!

I have tons of 510 stuff all boxed up, my Prodigy v1 boxed up.... everything but the above boxed up and put away for a rainy day.

I would've read more on this forum. Then I would've skipped the 901 (A venerable unit) and auto batteries. Gone straight to my 510 with manual batteries, and skipped out on that $90 order of juice from Heavens Gifts (it's dekang (I think). I don't like it. Your mileage may vary). I will say heavens gifts has good pricing and good shipping for having to skip across the pond. Pretty soon I'll get one of the mods (probably a chuck. They get a lot of good reviews) and wish I'd skipped on the batteries too. Like many though, I'm still buying more units to prove the 510s aren't the last word in vaporizing... It's a hobby!

I'm disillusioned with the 510 attys and considering an 801 Penstyle. My hope is that this will eliminate the bad atty taste and need to constantly refill the cart to keep the atty wet. I didn't realize when I bought my 510 that the attys need to be cleaned often and always kept wet or they would produce a burnt flavor that's nearly impossible to get rid of.

GoodDog, I don't want to talk you out of the 801 but the bigger cart is not all that it is cracked up to be. It does not seem to wick well without some kind of modification. To me the 801 is best for dripping on a high voltage pv.

Thank you! With all the problems I'm having the last thing I need is more. Is there a simple mod that works well or is it pretty much the same as the 510 problems? Would you recommend a different PV?

    Somewhere between here and there
Every person is different and likes different things but I have settled mostly on the 901 and 510. I have 801's but don't use them much unless I want to drip. GG carries something called an AFS which from what I understand holds alot of liquid and then I have heard about a mod called Carlos juice box that holds alot also. As far as the standard models, some people swear by the blue foam cart mod. If you take a look at the cart mod section, you will find them. I think there is a new 801 cart mod too. I assume you are using standard batteries with the 510? I had one 510 atty that always tasted burnt so I pulled the wicking fibers out of the bridge and that seemed to take care of it. I caution you though because you could ruin the atty doing this. Adapters are readily available now and pretty inexpensive. You could order a couple adapters and try some other models without buying batteries for them. I almost forgot, if you want something that holds quite a bit of liquid, I know some people swear by the kr808. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. As I am sure you know, there are great people here always willing to try to help.

A big mod will go through juice much quicker also if you let them run dry they will burn up your atty. The simple mod for you might be to get an adaptor for a kr808 cartomiser which holds about a ml of juice.

If your atty starts tasting burnt soak them in some crest pro for about an hour wash them off and let dry. I will warn you that crest pro reaaaaly cleans then out so it takes a while to get them reprimed but it does work great.

Yeah, I've done all of these things...almost every cart mod, cleaning in Crest, etc. I bought 8 - 510s thinking I would stock up for "the day". I have the PT, PCC, chargers, and the mega battery so I hate to start over. It's been reported here by a moderator that there was a manufacturing problem with 510 attys so I guess I got 8 of the bad ones. Until this is rectified I need to find another PV. I like the 510 and want something similar in size and style. I just don't see myself sucking on a juicebox but hey ya' never know. hehe It would be nice to find something that uses an adapter so I don't have to buy everything new again.

You could get a 510 to 901 adapter. The 901 is only a little bigger than the 510. I think the adapters are only a few dollars. But then you will need some 901 attys.

I just noticed this option on the Good Prophets site. Would I have to use cartomizers? Don't want to do that because of cost effectiveness.

Well I guess I got lucky and got my attys before the screw up. Heavensgifts sells adaptors to any atty you want just about. There are other places that sell these adaptors as well which would make it so you could use your 510 batts. If it was me I would try the 510 to 808 adaptor especially since you dont like refilling. I drip but having cartomisers would be good while driving or out and about.

The problem with the 901 is it doesnt put out as much vapor as a 510 and mine was very finicky and inconsistant with the hits. I use a 901 with a 5v pt and love it.

No, you would not have to use cartomizers. The 901 is just a plain atty to use carts with. The adapters usually allow you to use the 901 and cartomizer as the fittings are pretty much the same. I have been using the 901's on 3.7v and 5v. They do give more vapor on 5v. If you want more vapor at 3.7v then you might want to try the rn4075 which is the same fitting as the 901 but has a lower bridge. To me the 4075 seems to burn a little hotter and give better vapor on 3.7v on my screwdriver.

I don't mind refilling just not having to top off every 3 hits just to keep the atty from tasting bad. Cartomizers are not cost effective. I like all the flavors, mixing and fooling around with my PV...just not ALL the time. Sometimes I have other things to do, ya' know? :p

I want something that has good vapor and a good TH. I find the 510 provides this most of the time, but not consistently. I like that I can stealth vape and no one asks me questions because it looks like a pen.

How do you like that SD Im thinking about a mod but want 5v.
