I am on a tight vape budget, but want to buy an rba. I am thinking the IGO-L. I am pretty good with my hands and have watched enough youtube videos to where I believe I can be successful, but you guys are the experts. Let me know what you think and offer other low-cost alternatives, if you think I am setting myself up for failure.

Igo l is a good choice. However be ready to possibly having to drill out the stock air hole since the stock airhole is around 1mm. As the previous poster said a igo w might be a better choice due to the post holes. However with the w I would get 1 cap with a single airhole and a second cap with 2 airholes if I were buy a w. This way you get the flexibility of single or dual coil. Again be prepared to possibly having to drill out the stock airholes, depending on how you like your draw.

Great point about the air holes. I skipped the igo-w and went for a trident clone from FT. This way, I can have multiple air hole configurations without drilling or extra caps.

are you guys happy with using silicon or cotton wicks in the igo -w, or is jumping right into using ss mesh the better way to go?

I just built one with 28g kanthal 6/7 wraps using cotton wick and loving it.
1 ohm exactly and firing at 3.4 on my provari

Edit- igo-L btw

I was going to recommend this as well. Except for the 510 threading issue on this and the real trident, for those unaware based on reviews i've seen of both of these they have issues threading into some mods.

If I purchase the IGO-L, I was planning on getting it from OKC Vapes. They offer a choice of the 1mm or 1.6mm air holes. I assume they are making the alteration before they ship. They offer the same with the IGO-W, as well. Is there a method of covering the second air hole if I decide on a single coil?

This is why I recommend getting 2 caps. You could use clear tape or something along those lines or even your finger. But if you want a clean look your options are 2 caps or a different rda.

Igo-L is one of the best RBAs available right now. Even the clones are considered some of the best RBA on the market. The design is just too good to pass up. Its easy for beginners and it allows for expansion into dual coil set ups in the future. Its a great atomizer. Its big enough to hold a ton of juice too, which means time invested in dripping is miniscuuule!

Can't go wrong with an L or W.
I personally prefer the L for a couple reasons.

1: I don't mess with dual coils yet, so I don't need that extra post taking up valuable space where juice could be sitting, and making it harder to find a place for the end of my wick to lay

And

2: I like the look and finish of the L better.
It also seems a hair lighter in weight too.

Cons for the L are that it is a bit harder to wrap the ends of the coils around the screws, whereas the W has those nice little holes to put the ends through.
But, after wrapping a few coils I got used to how to wrap the ends pretty easily.
I have a micro set of needle nose pliers that help that process along.

If u plan on doing dual coils in the future, get the W.
If not, get the L.

Btw, I have 2 Ls and 2 Ws.
I have 3 more Ls on the way if that means anything.

To plug an extra air hole I have shoved a toothpick into the hole, jammed it in real hard and broke off the ends inside and out.
Dripped some juice on it which made it swell up and you can't really even tell its there.
The juice darkened up the wood a bit and it really just looks like a hole.

It's been in there that way for weeks without budging.
