been thinking same thing lol. running around 1.6 with twisted 32 right now. my other rba is 1.2 like the heat better.

I also took out my mesh. went with a larger coil and bunch of cheesecloth. its wicking better this time with the larger coil. i can also just squirt a bunch of juice in it and not worry about counting drips LOL

Got my Igo-L and Smok RDA's in the mail a couple days ago...

First coil I put on the Igo-L was real good, (1.3ohm), but the wick I had was too short and didn't wick very well. Got a lot of dry hits. Was able to pick up some more wick yesterday and recoiled it, (1.0ohm), and wicked very well, but a little too low ohm for my liking. Was very impressed by the flavor on both builds. I vape a 50/50 DeKang menthol blend, but I think on the lower ohm build it needs to be closer to 100% VG to work best. It is a very cool vape to say the least. I will try that later and see if it is better. The only negative I have so far is I think the draw on it is too airy for my liking. It looks like the standard size hole on it but I will check it out today to see what it is. I like the draw to be somewhat tight on my atty's....

On the other hand, I put the Smok RDA on my Natural and I can say right out of the box, (1.7ohm), it was good and then it got better after about 30 minutes or so. I started out with 20 drops and vaped for about 3 hours straight without having to add more. Very impressive. Not one dry or burnt hit. Picked it back up this morning and took 3-5 vapes and noticed it was a little dry so added another 10 drops and been going now for an hour+.... The draw on it was tight to my liking as well. The only thing i'm not crazy about is the height and the finish of the atty... Judging by all the pics I have seen, it looked to be a lot smaller that it actually is. It is still somewhat stealthy on the Natural 18350 setup with a shorty SS drip tip though.

Got my IGO yesterday and this is my first RBA. Just a quick question if anyone can answer for me. Should the coils glow bright red right after hitting the button using only Silica wicks? I got 3mm Silica using 32g kanthol and I noticed some are glowing red right after the button is depressed but mine isnt. Though most of the video showing that were people using hybrid set ups. I think mine is running fine but i think I can get more vapor. I think my coils might be a little loose on the silica and I make sure the air hole is aligned with the coil. Im sure its because im so new at doing this but just wanted to get an opinion. Thanks in advance!

With juice? no. Dry burn? yes.

Thanks for the clarification I just wanted to make sure I covered all my bases. Can I clean the silicon wick like I do wit my kangers? Give them a rinse in hot water and dry burn to remove the crud? I did see a video on how to restore a silicon wick using a torch to get a flame then let it snuff itself out. Then moderatly take the torch over the wick some. I really do appreciate everyones information. There just so much info its hard to find the direct answers through all the other stuff.

Didnt like how low the hole was on mine. So i welded it up. Had welder up a bit high and blew a big hole LOL. After some work, sanding, regrooving, and redrilling the hole alot higher. I can drip alot more in it. and its not as apt to leak if you lay it down the wrong way (hole down). I also went back to cheese cloth. And dropped a coil, now at 1.2-1.3. Twisted 32g around a 9/64 drill bit. Think I wanna try some 3m silica, so I can dry burn.

EDIT: Next thing is to get some better orings. My juice makes these swell so bad its getting real hard to get cap off and on. Think I might try some Viton.

I just received two new Igo-L's yesterday. After reading about air-hole placement issues, I took a close look at mine. Neither of the air-holes totally clear the base. I'd say about 85% of the holes clear the base. I also checked two brand new Igo-S's I received last week, and the placement is similar. These holes are small enough as they are, so I don't anticipate they'll provide adequate air flow for me. Logic tells me that if I open them up to 1/16", I'll be exposing even more of the base. I really don't want to have to seal these holes up and re-drill them higher. Should I send these back or should I just deal with it?

Also, I'd like to remove the center pins, so I can give them a proper bath before using. Will the center pin will drop out once I unscrew the center post?

Great thread! Even though its March and I'm a lil late in the game. I got 2 Igo-l's in the mail today. Well, yesterday but didn't ck my mailbox until today. I'm using cotton roll boiled twice with fresh water for 20 mins.each time. I'm also using 34 kanthal but need to go lower. I doubled my kanthal to lower the ohms and looped a cotton wick to make 2 strands in the coil. The first one I think the coil was too tight and I wasn't getting a lot of vapor. Tore that one off and made a 2nd one. It's reading 2.2 ohms and now I'm getting much better vapor. I think I'm going to like messing with this. I'm fairly new to all this and have only used the drunker tank before. I read somewhere in this thread someone said a tight coil would lower the vapor, so that helped a lot in me figuring out what to do on loosening the coil on my second try. Here are pics. It looks pretty decent on my Provari also, but I need to get a stainless steel drip tip. Lol. Thanks for everyone's ideas!
