How about batteries? Since this is my first mod coming, battery confusion has set in. Any immediate suppliers that can help (US) or am I gonna have a nice lizard paperweight for a while? Timing will overide $$$, within reason.

Also, are the sleeves and new modded cups for larger than Trustfire circumference batteries able to retrofit existing units thread pattern?

Oh most definitely. We're just looking to expand the inside of the tube, the threadings' and exterior will remain the same size.

The only batteries you need are just plain ol' 16340 Trustfire, white or grey, no acronyms such as TR. Or if you don't mind protection (in which it is not really needed anyway when only using one battery cell) any kind IR16340 or spiderfire.

Just learned this the hard way.

I had ordered batteries (from High Tech Dealz) on the same day I ordered my Chameleon. Got the mod and have been staring at it for days. Batteries finally came in today and I can't use them *sigh* They're the TR type and the site said they were the same as the others. They won't fit inside the mod. I am a very unhappy camper :(

I started out with Ultrafire 16340's that I use with a couple of other mods, but they were too big in diameter (actually 4 of the 5 were too big, the fifth one would fit if I pushed hard enough)

Yeah, those Trustfire TR123A's are definitely 'too fat' to fit the Chameleon, even though they say they are the same size as the Trustfire 16340's that are out of stock (and that other people have said DO fit).

I tried getting the Trustfire 16340's from a dealer in China that offered DHL shipping and even though I ordered the 'white' ones shown in the HighTechDealz site, they sent me the 'grey' ones - fortunately those DO fit.

I have some other ones on order from DealXtreme that take forever to get here from China, but they are unprotected 16340 - Spiderfire. Those have a smaller diameter. I didn't have any luck finding unprotected 16340's in the US.

Good luck getting some that fit - I sympathize.

Apparently the specifications on a 16340 battery are loose - both the length and the diameter. In my researching, I found forums where people showed pictures of the 'same' battery with a difference of 2mm in length.

In the same boat, waiting for Trustfires from China. Hope they fit. In the mean time I put in a AA rechargeable. Was kind of a complicated hookup but works. It sticks out the bottom so I looped a wire around the bottom of the battery and up into the sides of the case a little ways, then wrapped electrical tape around the bottom to hold the wire against the bottom of the battery. Bottom screw on part of case not used of course. Hey it works, but a little hassle to change batteries. So if your battery is too long there IS a way. If too wide, hmm.

I use the ultra fire 16340s in my Chameleon that I got from Battery Junction. They are tight and you might have to wiggle a bit to get them in, but they work fine, and with the modular design there is no problem getting them out even though they are tight. I found out about the TR123s today as well. I ordered those as a possible battery but they are too big to fit in the tube. Live and learn. I am still looking for Trustfires too but I have something that gets me through for now.

Sharky, you've lucked out with your Ultrafires, then. Four of the five I have won't fit unless I hammer them in, and one of the four Trustfire 16340's is a little too big, too.

Fortunately I can still use all of them in my Little Chuck or Xhaler! But I'm vaping Pear Lung Juice from a KR088D cartomizer (I refilled it) on the Chameleon now - I like how small it is. I even stealth-vaped a bit at the movies yesterday!

The Brass Rat is the school ring for MIT, featuring a beaver 'cuz the beaver is the engineer of the animal world. It's important to realize 'engineer' is pronounced 'en-gun-eer' - no soft 'g', 'cuz while we are whizzes at math and science, we're not known for being articulate or even literate.

This one isn't mine - it's a pciture of one from the class of '38 and mine's from the class of '74, but it looks ALMOST the same - the beaver's tail is fatter, and '74 is hidden in the twigs he's standing on. The 'thing' on the side is the Great Dome - it's on both sides, actually. I have my Little Chuck designed around a picture of the Great Dome.

Don't be frightened - he's really a very friendly little guy!

Hey guys,
These holidays were a killer and when I finally get a chance to take a good rest, I can't sleep! practical. If any of you guys want me too, I have learned of a safe method to expand the inside of the housing by a few hairs. If anyone would like to send the shells back to me for this adjustment please do so. I really don't want you guys to feel unhappy with your purchases. :(
