It's okay buddy most people are struck with a feeling of awe when they see the Seahawks and get all flustered.

Yes, that's it, J.

Being you're first venture in the area, I should warn you that the fall of the a champion is the fall that hurts the most. I'll remember Kenny Stabler's lame-duck, flopping-from-his-knees pass, ending a MARVELOUS two-year run in 1975 until the day they put me into the ground.

The "Hawks are like the young WR that scores his first TD (SB ring) and dances and prances and beats his chest...... as apposed to the '9ers (and Raiders) that have multiple TD's (SB rings). He scores , drops the ball and heads back because it's no big deal.... 'cause he's been there so many times before :D

Ah, yes, Mr. Wharf. I do love football season. Let the testosterone begin.

Well, my work day began at 04:30, and I'm just now heading out to begin my 8 hour shift. I'm glad that I can't count so good today.

Have a great one, one-and-all!

Oh! For Wharf & Stud, mainly, but if any of you have any interest in joining one or two pretty cool pools, I'll post details in the next post. Just email me at dplongo22 at gmail and I can forward you the full sign specs and what not. Both are fully managed on-line and I can vouch for the person in charge. She's a client of mine. I won a couple of weeks last year, which is always fun.

MAIN POOL:

Our pool is easy. You only need to do two things to play. First – Simply pick a winner for every game played that particular week. Final score is all that matters. POINT SPREADS ARE NOT USED. Second – Place a number alongside each game (usually 1 through 16 as most weeks there are 16 games). Results: Your score for the week will be calculated by adding up the individual numbers for every game you win. A loss is not counted. The individual with the most points each week wins.

NOTE: Most players assign the highest values (numbers) to the games they feel the most confident about. This is where point spreads may help you – i.e. without casting any aspersions and as an example only, let’s say the NY Giants are playing the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Giants are favored by 17 points. Here you may feel confident with the Giants and assign this game a high value. Conversely, there may be a game where the point spread is 1 or a push – here you may not feel as confident and hence you may assign a lower value.

Remember the winner is the player with the highest point total regardless of how many wins they have. See tie breaker rules below.

1. Payment - total cost for the entire season is $56.00. This equates to $3 per week for 17 regular season weeks plus a $5 per person fee for the use of the internet service. The actual cost of the internet service is dependent upon the actual number of people who participates. Any remaining money from the internet service should allow me to buy bagels once or twice during the season. Please make all checks payable to: {XXX} ( I promise to deposit all checks into the football pool account)

2. Access Instructions - If you played last year, your login data is still current. If you are new to the pool, go to Office Football Pool Hosting :: Pro and College Football Pools :: College Bowl Pools :: Pickem :: Key Pick Pools :: Confidence Pools :: Survivor Pools :: Office Pool Hosting :: Golf Pools :: Baseball Pools :: Nascar Pools :: Fantasy Nascar :: Soccer . Click on the "Home" tab and select the "Register - Join OFP" option. Once you have successfully registered, you must log into our pool. To do this, click on the "Pools" tab and select the "Join a Pool" option. Our Pool ID is 7811 and our password is Norwalk. To make your weekly picks, you just have to log into the site and go to the "Picks" tab. It's really pretty easy to use.

3. Pot Payout - The weekly winner still will receive $2 for each person who played that week. The remaining one dollar will go towards the season pot to be split as follows:

1st Prize - 60%
2nd Prize - 25%
3rd Prize - 10%
Ordinary Joe/Jane Prize - 5% (The winner of this prize will be that person whose final performance is closest to the average of all the participants for the year). Please note: Anybody that misses 2 or more games will not be counted when computing the average.

4. Deadlines - since all this will be done on the internet, there should be no reason why anyone should miss a deadline. The deadline for submitting your picks to: SUNDAY - 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. You will receive a reminder e-mail 24 hours before the deadline if you have not yet completed your picks.

Please note that the Week 1 game is on Thursday night and there are several Thursday night games. You must have ALL of your picks in by the designated website deadline which is right before the game begins. But after the game ends you can make changes to your picks up until Sunday, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

5. Auto / Default Picks: If you forget to make your picks or miss the pick deadline you can choose the Auto / Default Picks option and your default picks will be entered for you automatically. Last year this was set to none and quite a few people missed deadlines. This year I set the default to random. If you would like to change this, go to "Picks" tab and click on auto picks and then set your default picks:

a) Default Picks, choose: none, all home teams, all road teams, all favorites, all dogs or random.
b) Default Tiebreaker Total: you can enter any number or if you leave blank, then the number will be random.

SUICIDE / SURVIVOR POOL:
For those hardcore football fans - we are running a suicide pool again this year. It is $20 up front and you pick the winner of only one game each week. If your chosen team loses, you are out. The last person standing wins the entire pot. The catch - once you have picked a team, you can't use that team again. If you are interested, follow the same access instructions above with the exception that the Pool ID is 7814. The password is Norwalk. You can enter this pool as many times as you would like. Note: If all of the remaining players lose in the same week, the pot is to be split among those players who were still alive at the beginning of the weekend.

Click here to Log In and Rejoin My Pool.

You can write one check to {XXX} if you are playing in both the pools ($76.00). Payment is due no later than September 12th. If you have to mail me a check, my mailing address is at the bottom of this email.

Additional Information:

Manager Picks - The pool manager can enter or change picks for anyone at anytime. A flag in the poolwide picks and standings pages plainly identifies picks that are entered by the manager. This way, everything remains above board. The only time this is used is if someone is unable to get into the site due to travelling and sends me an email, telephones or faxes the information to me. As long as my email, voice mail or fax confirmation shows that you are sending in your picks before the deadline, I have no problem with entering your picks in a crisis.

Tiebreakers (Standings based on Points)

Tiebreaker #1: MNF (Monday Night Football) - The cumulative absolute difference in your total point predictions and the actual total points scored in the Monday night football game. If there is no Monday game, the last game of the week is designated as the tiebreaker game.

Tiebreaker #2: Win % (Win Percentage) - Wins / (Win + Losses). During a week when there is an early game, some people are likely to miss entering their picks in time for the early game. In this case, they might be 10-5 when someone else is 10-6. If you use this tiebreaker, 10-5 beats 10-6.

PASSWORDS: Everyone who was a member of our pool last year should still be a member now. All they need to do is log in to the website with the same username and password as before. If they have forgotten their password, they can retrieve it by email by going to HELP>Retrieve Password. If their email address changed too, then they can contact me directly for help.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO OTHERS THAT YOU MAY WANT TO INVITE!!!!

So sad to hear about Drew on Vapor Joes this morning. Sorry for all who knew him AND the vaping industry. Including us!

Bov, I'm way back where you said you've been off the stinkies for 7 weeks!!! Hope you're doing well!! The point that they stink to you is one of the first good signs!! One thing that helped me. Even though think you said you need to stay away from tobacco flavors. David (I think his name is. freedomsmokeusa) told me to get 36mg Paul Mall <insert any strong cig taste> and just have it available. When you have a craving, hit that and the craving will go away. THAT was the end of me smoking.

oh yeah guys and gals

Go SKINS!!!!

Thanks Pizza! I'm doing good, very few cravings and they have been mild. Having dealt with addictions up close and personal (my own as well as my ex's) it's been very helpful for me to call my cravings a LIAR, and stop that nagging little "just one" voice in my head.

Ha Oz! Those things stick to my dog too

The 9ers and Raiders are like two old guys in a rest home trying to relive old memories of how it used to be. All they have to look forward to are long forgotten by anybody under 80.
Oh and these guys agree who is best. :) http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings

Is this the Betts with Malibu BOB? Boy she's got a big head.

What ARE they wiggling??

Her head is always large but for you we'll make er smaller.

They are wiggling whatever the old duffers have left to wiggle. Probably old worn out banners from long ago when they were good. It's amazing they can still think back that far.

Yes it is a good price J5! Levis is the only jeans I can stand to wear.

Levis is all I wear. I don't care if it's black tie and jacket on the lower half you'll see Levis. If it's formal I iron a crease in them.

I only do Carhartts, myself. Regular jeans wear out too fast. I usually spend the extra $15 & get the welders/loggers Carhartts with the reinforced section that kinda looks like a pair of chaps. The only time I've completely worn out a pair was when I was working in steel. I got a good 9 months out of them, but regular jeans wouldn't have lasted more than maybe 6 weeks at best in those conditions. They're a little more pricey, but in my experience, completely worth it. Every fall the ranch supply store runs a sale & I can get a new pair for $50-60.
