Bovi - hope your paperwork wrestle is going OK. I don't know if there's anything I can do, but the offer stands.

And J5, just watch what they do to the next victim (Ben Carson). Right now everyone's leaving him alone. Soon he will be eviscerated by the Left (remember what they did to Allen West in FL?) and annihilated by the Right, most likely for being "out of touch".

The saddest part of that is that he's probably the candidate the country would benefit the most from by electing. But it will never happen. I hate to sound like a defeatist but I fully expect that our path to self-destruction will continue unimpeded.

And I believe I know who the next Prez will be, and it's probably not who you're thinking. Pray that I'm wrong.

The PE will never allow this person to enter politics. Too bad :(:(:( even if he got in, he would wind up ion a slab :( Minute 19 says it all wrt taxes

Bravo, Switched - and thank you. I've used the Rome analogy many times in life. If they fell, so can we. I truly don't think people understand that very basic premise, and it's the thing that may end up killing us.

Kat: That extended conversation we had last night? Watch the portion Switched recommends and see if it sounds familiar. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but it makes me feel special when people agree with me. ;-)

The Republicans are tolerating Carson right now, because they don't think he's truly capable of upsetting their apple cart. I hope that he'll run regardless of the primary results, and go Independent if need be. Do I agree with everything he says? No, I do not. But if we don't start thinking about the bigger picture, and applying some basic common sense, we're doomed.

And I'm not kidding, watch what the Left does to this man. It never ceases to amaze me how dumb & gullible we are (in a collective sense). They feed us the rhetoric, then we wear it like a flag and repeat it, unimpeded and endlessly.

So we were broke for awhile this AM.

I give up telling folk to smarten up. I think if I were running I would start by having all the most famous actors and singers say they were voting for me. They seem to carry more weight than anyone else.

Switcher he'd get my vote if he ran.

We voted a few of them into office. The Gipper, The Terminator, Jessie The Body, Al Franken (etc)...

Jesse The Bod??? Yeah, "we" really did.

That's what I'm saying. Favorite actors , our best friend, or the best bs speel from a good promoter means more than a couple hrs. of investigation into the candidates. I think people just don't trust their own decisions.

You forgot Ronald Reagan on that list...and that's all I'ma say on this topic, because you know I disagree on how to achieve what's best for this country. I did enjoy hearing Dr. Carson's speech tho :)

I wish I could say I woke up energized for battle, but I didn't. What little energy I did have was spent on snow removal, and it's still coming down hard.

Cat, I don't envy your task at hand. Sounds about as exciting as my studying tax code (yes I DO agree that taxes should be simplified)

You are welcome my fine Sir. I took the blue pill a long time ago. What Ben says in his video can be applied across the world and is not necessarily a US thing :)

I put a new Mega Fusion in one of my tanks and it kept going dry. I thought I saw a juice port on it but after the problem persisted I pulled it back out of the tank and no juice ports. What a dummy. So I took my trusty hammer and awl, put a couple ports in and waa-laa it is working perfectly as usual. I have a more profound feeling for the blind since going through this bs. Missed ports, misspelled words, thank goodness for spell check.

There's spell check here?? How do I find it? I've done that with a carto before J and both my eyes are fine.

Nutrition?? Where do vanilla wafers & graham crackers fall in the food plan? It seems that I always have something in my mouth. If it's not a vape, it's a drink or a snack - I can sympathize with your daughter, Cat. For me it's that oral fixation more than anything else. I vape a lot of 0 mg now, and some 3, but so glad that I don't smoke anymore. I know of several peeps that lost weight after they started vaping

Background: This has been going on with her for 5 years now. I love her just the way she is. For 5 years, she has been begging me to teach her about how to keep her weight down. I have gotten certain books for her, offered to go over them with her, have spent countless hours and a lot of money getting the right kinds of foods and even more countless hours cooking them, preparing them, trying to get her to learn to cook them herself, going grocery shopping with her to teach her how to make good choices to meet HER goals...not mine FOR her.....because she asked me to. I have one day a week off. I have devoted it to her for a very long time now. It is time she take responsibility for herself and learn to discipline herself for whatever goals she is trying to achieve.I can't do it for her anymore. Now she is hoping it's a hand to mouth thing for her and asked me to set her up with vaping. I have done that. But again, this has to be about her wanting to make her own behavioral changes to meet her goals. I CAN"T make them for her. Only she can do that for herself. Coming home and crying about it to me just isn't fair to me anymore. end of rant... Am I way off base? Thoughts? Constructive feedback?..anyone?

Sorry about the day off "work" being such a pain in the
Pain_zpsnr3qevnz.png
.
The best way to lose weight is no sugar or products that have sugar in them and EXERCISE. My daughter sits in front of the TV all day eating diet food and can't understand why she isn't losing weight. Duh, If she would get up and quit watching tv all day and night it would probably work.

Spell check is on here. Everytime I misspell a word it underlines it.
word_zpsok5fxggx.png
Then right click and pick the correct spelling. Sometimes you have to right click 2 or 3 times to get it to come up. I don't know if it's called spell check but it checks them.

Cat - J5 speaks the truth. And HER problem is NOT your problem. I know it's easier said than done when it's one of your own though. I feel for you.

Bovi & Switched: Review my list again. Name #1 is "The Gipper." If you don't understand that, than it explains why you don't understand the impact he had on the economy, after finding it in worse shape than anyone ever, before or since (contrary to popular belief).

His system, which was basically JFK's with steroids, created an economic boom that lasted through five Presidential terms, interrupted only slightly in Bill Clinton's first two years in office. Billy boy though, slick as he was, was smart enough to re-engage it after Year 2, carrying HIM through re-election and another four years (of FUN!!!). Funnest President ever, that one. Have a cigar... :vapor:

It's all verifiable, so please have fun. :)

And just think. I'll bet you $100.00 Hillary is our next president and not because she's good. She's just more of Silly Willy but she's a female and the voters have to prove to who I don't know because the only one that cares is them. But they have to prove that the US has grown enough to have a woman in the White House. Like I said they elect people for every idiotic reason but the one that counts.

Yep DP, I did notice the Gipper...but not before I posted. Sorry, I still disagree, possibly we differ in what we perceive as success. In my world, the only think that trickled down was the bullsheet ;)

So then, you pine nostalgicly for The Carter Years? And the math disagrees with you too, but we didn't have Common Core back then, so... . :)

J5 - I'd kill to have Hillary right now. And she's not my fear. We'd do OK with her. It's "The Other" who scares me. The one who will surely dismantle & destroy the last of the few freedoms we have remaining.
