The old server has been ignoring his multiple requests to provide the new server with the appropriate authentication code to unlock the DB for the move to the new server. I told Isaac time to take some legal action here, which he plans on doing. The site is ready to go, it just needs to be moved, and can't be moved until the key is available to unlock the box or open the door so to speak.
In plain English, Isaac's site is being held hostage
The old server has been ignoring his multiple requests to provide the new server with the appropriate authentication code to unlock the DB for the move to the new server. I told Isaac time to take some legal action here, which he plans on doing. The site is ready to go, it just needs to be moved, and can't be moved until the key is available to unlock the box or open the door so to speak.

Well why don't he make the new site Ikenvapes.com until he gets it working? Sometimes just adding a little s in the mix will get us going. I realize he'd have to redo the whole site. Or it seems like he could get a judge to do a temporary release until it's sorted out. The company he was using needs a little bad press so no future vendors get stuck.

As a "host" to many websites, I can tell you that the old host cannot legally "hold the auth code" hostage from Isaac. The site and everything related to Isaac's business is Isaac's intellectual property and keeping it from him is a BIG NO NO. I don't care who registered it, it IS Isaac's property and he is being deprived of it. The hostage taker can be liable for damages, including lost sales revenue. Take legal action now Isaac!

This just still sounds weird to me. Doesn't he have backups of the DB? Just create a new database. If not, at this point, just put the site up and start over.
