I had 3 ischemic strokes since 2017. I gave up smoking an vaping in 2017. And like a dummy gave away all my juices and equipment. From what I can tell, things have different names now. I also deleted all my old vaping websites. Can anyone give me a brief education in 2022? Thank you.

Welcome back shedevil.

A Four Word Summary of where were are in 2022 is... "Things are Not Good".

fasttech and Most of the other Foreign Suppliers have lost Paypal as a Direct Payment Method. There are some work-arounds by buying a Gift Certificate and then using it as Payment Method. But with COVID/Omicron, there can be substantial delays if items are shipped by Boat and not Air.

The USPS has issued a Rule that effectively Bans most e-Liquids. That comes on the heels of Fed-Ex, DHL, and UPS voluntarily Banning e-Liquids. Shipping Hardware is kinda Catch as Catch can.

The FDA has begun Implementation of the Deeming of e-Cigarettes. And to No One's surprise, the ONLY e-Cigarette to receive a FDA blessing is a BT Product. And even though a few more e-Cigarettes are probable, they will Most Likely be just be circa 2012 Ciga-a-likes. No Open System Hardware. No Standalone Bottled e-Liquids. No flavors besides the generic three. No Joy for those wanting to quit.

There are Numerous Nicotine Tax proposals in the works at the Federal Level. As well as an Increase to the Federal Tax on regular cigarette. But most have be shelved for now due to the Crash n' Burn of Build Back Better in Biden's Budget.

Many Major e-Cigarette Retailers have either Shifted to something more Sellable like CBD. Or have closed. And countless small Companies/B&M's are playing out the string before they have shut their doors for good.

Countless State and Local Laws and Regulation have been Passed or are in the Pipeline. Everything from Borderline Reasonable to in some cases Two Steps into the Absurd.

And aside from all that, Smoking Rates are starting to Rebound. Which is a Big Fat Win for No One. Unless one Doesn't give a Rat's Azz about Smokers. And is beating the "e-Cigarettes are Evil" drum just for Personal or Party Gain.

So yeah... That's kinda where we are.

So I take it you want to get back into vaping? China is your best bet for hardware but for juice your best bet is DIY if you can find a supplier that will ship nic base to you. Up until a few weeks ago nicbase.com (delosi labs) is your best bet for getting nic base.

For older hardware you could also try the classifieds ads here, but they've been almost dead since the USPS mail ban was supposed to take effect (april) and just about dead now that it is in effect. I think most ECFers are scared to ship. Reddit EC classifieds are booming, though (especially mid to high end gear). As with any classifieds, especially reddit, you have to be careful. But it's worked for me for selling some of my stuff and buying a few mods.

I usually don't say things like this but IMHO you would be better off to just stay quit. It's more of a hassle to get into/back into vaping right now than it is to just stay quit.

Reading, @zoiDman this made me think of the joke, "Other than that Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?"

Since you're not looking to get back into vaping heavily, if you have local vape shops, I suggest you buy from them. Vendors don't really sell pen style vapes anymore, pod systems replaced them. A pod system is basically a proprietary system (manufacturer's wet dream). It still contains the "battery" and the "tank", but the tank is called a "pod". Instead of 510 threading, the pod attaches to "battery" with a proprietary connection, usually magnetic. So if you buy a pod system from brand X, the tanks (aka the pods) will not fit/work on brand Y's battery.

Maybe the newest Uwell Caliburn (A2?) would suit you and should be available locally. It's not a round design like a pen, rather a flat design. There's also the Geekvape Weenax K1 which is a similar size.

Pod systems rage from small to large.

As to the "best" tobacco flavor, I won't touch that rabbit hole topic. Maybe others will.

Depending on where you are in Indiana, there are still a number of vape shops that can help you catch up and see your options. Quite a few around Indianapolis. Even under the newer vaping restrictions, shops can still get liquid and equipment. In the past it was much cheaper online but with the high shipping and fewer discounts, it's not that different.

Good luck and welcome back!

These links are to Fasttech, a popular Chinese retailer of vapes and other stuff. You don't have to buy them from there, but I do recommend them if you don't mind waiting. When you buy vape gear these days from China, you can't use paypal directly anymore. WIth Fasttech, you have to purchase a gift certificate (you can buy exact amounts you need) with paypal, then pay for the order with the gift certificate.

Anyhow, I like to link to fasttech because they usually have the best pictures and info.

Uwell Caliburn A2

Uwell Caliburn AK2 (same pods as above, just a box shape device)

Pods for both of the above

Geekvape Wenax K1

Wenax K1 Pods

You can't change the coils with the above devices, you have to change the whole pod. There are pod devices where you can just change the coil though. For instance..

Uwell Caliburn G

Coils for the above

Empty pods if you break any.

Thank you! I do remember Fasttech from the olden days and it took forever to get. Much worse now since the supply shortages I assume?

The problem with Fasttech today is that their fulfillment can take a while as they don't operate like any of the others in terms of warehousing. Transit times should be not much different from others. When buying from china, expect 2-6 weeks for delivery (it decreases anxiety)

I'm not looking to get into the hobby heavily, I've just been having a major craving lately. So, maybe a cartridge and pen unit? Then, what or who has what tastes nearest to real nicotine?
If you just want to easily satisfy cravings without getting into the hobby heavily all your local convenience stores or gas stations carry Vuse or Juul. Tobacco flavor only.

I forgot to mention since I've had the strokes, I no longer drive (sold vehicle) so I'm a shut-in. No husband (Covid), no kids or grandkids. Therefore I have to rely on shopping online if I can.

I sent you a PM (private message) about the above. Just look at the upper right of this page for your Inbox, hover over it, and click on the link to the message I've sent.

Since I was tagged by CMD-KY....
If you want real nicotine flavors, I am guessing you mean tobacco flavors. Stixx Mixx might still be an option, if they haven't shut down. Realizing that politics was about to interfere with vaping, I began extracting my own tobacco flavors. I know several of my old favorite vendors no longer exist now.
Vaping supplies, or what passes for vaping, can be bought at head shops, convenience stores, I have even seen a billboard for a porn shop that also sold vapes.
Something here might hold you over until you can navigate the treachery of Big Gub'ment.
