I'm coming out.

Well, sort of. That ship sailed about 7 years ago, but especially with the new legislation in NYS (I'm at home in Jersey at the moment but sadly missed Pride), I'm all aflame (GET IT!) with pride and feel like gushing with my community. This post isn't about that, though, because one of those already exists and I did my part in there. I am a gay vaper. A gayper, if you will.

I know we have a group, I've seen it, I've been there. I am waiting to become a member and am not making any point against the group (I am of course THRILLED it exists!), but it's a small amount of people compared to the forum as a whole and I think there are a ton more GLBTetc folk out there. So... I say hello, darlings. Besides, online groups are always tricky because people easily forget to keep up with them and sometimes circumstances just prevent members from participating for stretches at a time (much like people have hiatuses from the forum as a whole) and yadda yadda yadda. So I am posting here to find out where my gays at. As I become more and more a member of this community, I long to find the GLBTQIAA (etc.) friends that I am lucky to have in every community I'm a part of. So I am Zac, and I'm a gayper. Who are you?

A disclaimer: most everyone on this forum is a wonderful person and accepting of others regardless of gender [identity], race, creed, sexual orientation, etc. If you are not one of those people, I ask you to move on in advance rather than fuel the flames of hatred. Yes, I have seen it here before. No, ECF does not tolerate it, and more importantly, neither do I.

(OK that's a lie, I hate stupid people, pedofiles and serial killers) I just wanted to say congrat's to NY for joining the club of states allowing everyone to be happy (or misserable, depending) Hopefully all the other states will soon join us, it's been way to long of a wait as it is.

Is the gay and lesbian group not active right now? Just wondering, not trying to start anything, I don't usually go in there.

Nope, my love and respect is all inclusive. Besides, you are indeed part of our ever-growing acronym... which of course, doesn't matter, but we officially include you! I think the current, full acronym for the community is GLBTQIAA-- gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans*, questioning, intersex, and allies (that's you!). Don't quote me on that but I know I got the first six right. Also, I don't know what's going on with the gay group. I'm not actually a member (requested today) but I do know I've seen there's only 2 discussions and that could either mean a lot of activity or very little. This post is mostly geared towards GLBTQIAA who want to say hi to each other but don't want to join the group or would never have thought to. Also to newbies who have way more reading to do on here before they even have the time to find the group like that! It's wonderful, wonderful that we have the gay group on here to be around when people want it, need it, and know about it... but none of those things are necessarily the case.

And Surf... thanks, I try...

EDIT: Safira, I realized the wording in my OP made it seem like I am a member of the gay group and could say conclusively activity is low. I don't know that for sure by any stretch of the imagination and tried to edit my wording to reflect that. This is just my shoutout to my community!

A word about your use of "gayper". No offense intended, but somehow it brings back recurring memories of goatse. Maybe because "gaper" has already been abused by the adult film industry.

I'm sure if we put our heads together, we can come up with a better term.

Oh, goatse. Well CLEARLY some of our minds aren't wired that way Now that you said it, I'll never be able to use it again though... sad. I thought it was cute. I don't think there's a more apt term, but there might be one that doesn't make anyone's mind revert back to goatse. o_o

Hopefully some day threads like this won't be any more necessary then a thread that says "Hey I have blonde hair."

For now though it's still an uphill battle to get society to accept people for being who they are instead of who some facist thinks they should be.

Well, I had a friend who had to come out as straight when he went to Pride with me and we kept meeting new people... so it all depends on how you look at it I'm just gonna go on being me. Which apparently includes threads like this!
