Well I have decided to give it up. I quit smoking long before vaping, so I don't "need" to vape anyway. It was just a hobby. Not going back to analogs or anything. Inconsistent, cheaply built parts caused me enough frustration to just give up. Atomizers last a week, or a day. I just had three atomizers that lasted one day. That's just pathetic. Hey man...sounds like you might have had some cheap units! My atty's usually last 1-2 months. What I have learned is that performance is all in the battery. It is well worth it to invest a little extra in something like the Janty stick or even the SD to give you good performance. I would quit vaping too before I ever use another e-cig battery.

You definitely have to want to vape enough to overcome all the obstacles. It would not be a good "hobby" for someone who has quit smoking or never smoked in the first place. There's not enough incentive if you're not a smoker. That could be one of the reasons there are warnings all over the place telling people not to use the product if you're not a smoker. Why would you want to?

Very good points. Since I am a smoker the e-cig helps me cut down. The lack of quality is apalling. The expense is phenomenal. But most of my hobbies are costly. If the e-cig were any other product the manufacturers would be hauled into court for shoddy workmanship. There is alot of evidence on this forum that defective technology is acceptable as the gold standard for willingness to buy.

At some point, after I've been off cigs for enough time, I hope to say the same thing. I like vaping well enough, but its all about not smoking for me. There are days when I feel like its a colossal pain in the .... Its worth it for me now because it has replaced cigarettes and that's worth all the hassle in the world to me.

I agree! Good for you. That's why I wish the FDA would focus on what's in Cigs. But, that's capitalism for you. Government is Business.

I hope after vaping for awhile, I can drop this like I did cigs in the 80's. They aren't the same now.

You said it. Maybe someday they will have an e-cig made with the same quality that other consumer electronics have. Until then, I will just keep stopping by to keep up with the news and the new products.

Good for you! But I do have a question. Since you had already quit and didn't really need to vape then why did you use juice with nicotine in it? It doesn't really sound like "just hobby" to me. I'm not questioning your judgment, I'm just curious if were you missing the "fix" so-to-speak.

Aside from all that I find it intriguing that you say you have no withdrawal symptons after having stopped vaping. Obviously the only the hard addiction with vaping is the nicotine. Your story is good news. Makes me curious if I could just drop the ecig after not having an analog for 5 months. Maybe that will be something I'll try when I feel I'm ready. Right now I think I'm too mentally attached to give it a real go.

Honestly, I started with no nic. I just found that higher nic gave a better throat hit. I just loved the physical act of smoking. Honestly, I think that there are more chemicals at work in analogs that make quitting hell. It was for me anyway. I haven't vaped in a while, no withdrawal symptoms at all. I'm not sure why, but maybe nic by itself just isn't that strong. Not sure.

I would have never quiet analogs with out the help of the Ecig. My goal is to eventually quiet the Ecig too. I vape with 6mg strength and im cutting down from there.
With all its faults, this product got me off cigarettes and i am gratefully for that.

I do have to admit, hearing about all the problems with these expensive lil cigs is a scary thing to a "newbie" like myself. Heck, Im still impatiently waiting for my first starter kit to come in the mail so I can quit my analogs!

Hang on, got one heck of a ride ahead of you. Honestly I think you will enjoy it verses analogs just for the help of kicking the old habit.
