i've been vaping for just over a year, with varying success. my main cig is a riva510, but i've used a few different atomisers along the way. just recently my housemates bought ego ts but that's a different story.

let me begin.

my riva 510 worked well from the start, but atomisers never lasted very long before becoming hard to pull on and providing less and less vapour with less and less flavour.

i purchased an atomiser from liberty flights which lasted a couple of weeks before starting to flag. this is normal in my experience, i'm amazed when people say theirs can last months. £10 for 2 weeks vaping.

i bought a new one from totally wicked which produced little to no vapour. DOA policy only. £10 down the drain.
i bought a new one from cloud9vaping which produced a horrific burnt taste and was offered nothing as recompence, just excuses.
i bought 5 from greenhouseone, some of which worked fine and lasted a couple of weeks, some of which produced little to no vapour and some of which tasted absolutely disgusting no matter how much cleaning i did.
i bought some cartomisers from vapertrails. they taste very weird... you can barely taste the liquid, just the filler. sort of a farmyard flavour, not as unleasant as it sounds but not ideal either. they leak like nobody's business too.
my brother bought an ego t from greenhouseone. one atomiser died within 1 minute, the other tasted burnt from the off. he bought a 3rd party replacement atomiser which works better but the tanks leak when used with it.
my other housemate bought an ego t from greenhouseone and it came with different atomisers (not branded with the ego t mark) and different tanks (not filled, clear instead of blue). they taste lovely but leak like sin.

none of these shops offer any help other than to suggest buying another battery/atomiser/tank combination. i'm currently without an e cig unless i use the weird tasting carts, and tbh i'm close to packing it in and getting some cutters choice :p

i'm willing to give it one last go, i'll spend up to £50 on a decent ecig from a UK store where i can get good quality replacement parts for it. please can anyone help me out here, i'm tired of throwing away my money on bits that don't work like they're supposed to.

cheers for listening to my rant, hope someone can help

thanks, i'll happily try these boge cartomisers. hunting the web now.
i'm also not opposed to ditching my 510 batteries and going for something else, so if you have other suggestions i'll gladly take them on board.

Try the Low Resistance ones too (or instead of "standard resistance"). Keep in mind they don't last "forever", 1-2 weeks per cartomizer seems to be the norm. You "can" try to clean them, but they don't cost all that much to begin with. ~$8(usd) for a 5 pack. I can't stand the atomizer/cartridges that came with my Riva (also from Liberty Flights) but it's nice with the Boges.

Get yourself a decent bottom feeder Box Mod with an Iken 510 Atty and your problems are solved, check out Reo Mods, VV Ali'i at R&R Manufacturing, Monkeybox, Phidias, all of these will blow your vape world away with a good Iken 2ohm or HV-510 a Top of any of these Mods, pluse you can vape at all different voltages and experience the whole gamut with any of these and the different Batt configurations you can run in these, or get the VV option, you will be a happy vapor doing this over that Ego and I'm not saying the Ego is bad it is not, but housing 3-6ml's of juice and running a big batt power mod is a whole different ballgame. Also you may want to check out the hottest new Mod the Eclipse over at Digitalciggz dot com, these are going to be super. As far as a small unit the 1000mAh Ego with a Boge 2ohm Carto or dual coil would fit your bill of what your using now, but it sounds like your ready for a Mod to me.

ordered 5 boge cartomisers from liberty flights. thanks for the tip both of you, it is very much appreciated. eyebrook, please can you point me towards the thread describing how to fill for the first time?

thanks again.

edit// Mudflap - i've had 6 batteries in during the year. Cronus6 - unfortunately 2 of them died within a day when i started using LR atomisers, so i'll be steering clear of them i think.

mwa102464 - information overload man! :) can you point me to a store in the UK selling these things?

Don't blame you for being frustrated Mammoth! Jeezealou!

This should help with filling the cartomizers: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...8-filling-boge-510-blank-cartomizer-help.html Lots of helpful info and other links in that thread.

You'd probably also get some great recommendations and help from members of the forum from your own Country for products, mods, where to buy and who has decent shipping from the US to the UK. ECF has a Forum for UK Vapers. Try posting here: UK Forum There are also other e-cig forums on the web that are UK based that you can check out (but we want you to come back here to ECF to post! LOL).

Finding others that vape in the area that you live can really help too. Try doing a search for your city or surrounding cities using the Google search on the top of the Forum page and it will usually give you vendors, ECF members and other fun info. that you can use for contacts.

I did that shortly after I joined ECF, then started a social group for my State and City. We now have over 200 members that I see and vape with at least once a month (cuz I set up a social group Forum on ECF and stalked potential members on ECF via the Google search LOL) .

Well as I just posted in another thread, I'm a pretty heavy vaper (IMO) and I'm killing 3 Riva batteries a day with LR cartos.
And my batt is less than 1 month old... so yeah, "you'll have that" :)

My only experience with "standard resistance" stuff is the atty that came with the starter kit, I ordered LR Boges right off the bat due to the recommendations here. I have to say, they weren't wrong, for me anyway.

I'm seriously looking at big battery (maybe high voltage) box mods now.
I know I'm just going to crush the Riva eventually, but it's (far) better than smoking, and cheaper too.

+1 on the 2.0 boges. i get anywhere from 3 to 5 days from them, then i toss it ( i dont bother cleaning them, because they only just over $1 a piece).
worse case scenario: i use up 2 of them a week...pretty cheap substitute for analogs if you ask me.
I have never gotten a doa boge to date. Dual coil cartos are a step up from the 2.0 boges (i use both) as far as TH and vapor.

Mammoth,

When the attys get bad, have you tried soaking them in rubbing alcohol for several hours? Try soaking them overnight if you are going to throw them out. I have gotten mine back to great condition doing that.

Just don't use them for a day after soaking. That stuff is dangerous to vape. Smell them to make sure the alcohol is all gone:)

I guess Im a pretty heavy vaper too as I kill at least 3 Riva batts a day too.... on the weekend when its glued to my face I might even double that.

I do believe that the atty's that came with my Riva SE are 2.0 though.
