I'm just wondering what the average vaper thinks of this?

Outsiders may see the average vapers as the cloud chasers, which is not a good thing for upcoming legislation and such. We will have ecig leglislation, the only question is how hard it hits.
The cloud chasers are the ones who stand out vs we quiet vapers who only vape where cigs are allowed, blow moderate vapor emissions and generally are not making a bold statement about our vaping. I have converted 3 to vaping off of cigs so far. 1 per month so far.

btw I have contacted all of my legislators on the state and federal level asking them to take it easy on ecigs as they did help me to quit 35 years of smoking.

The government has basically been doing everything wrong since the very beginning. First they taxed cigs so high that smuggling increased like crazy, and in my state, which has one of the highest cig taxes in the country, a good percentage of cigs now sold are illegal cigs, that have been smuggled in.
Some people in your state wind up dead from selling illegal smokes...

People who don't frequent the Electronic Cigarette News and Campaigning subforum maybe?
:)

In other words, most that have answered should have kept their traps shut?

Everybody should read, or reread that article. It's not just about the murder of a man, it's also cigarette taxes and is quite sobering.

"The ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) figures that solely by purchasing cigarettes in a low tax state and reselling them in a high tax state, a seller can make a profit (report downloads as pdf) up to $23,000 on 10 cases of cigarettes – that’s considered a car load."

Flamingo. I do not hit those forums. I go my own way in most things including contacting ALL of my state and federal legislators expressing my support for vaping, but telling them I support no sales to minors and safe properly labeled ejuice. I also support any high wattage vaping equipment being UL listed same as any other electrical device for safety.
I would really like to know what is in the ejuice I use. Ohh wait I do since I make my own using USP base and all natural no artificial ingredients flavorings :)

No worries, I just recognize a lot of folks responding as people who do go to those sections and was poking fun a DC2. Y'now, that way he knows I'm not an imposter flamingo. ;)

Sorry if this sounds like it's OT, but I really don't think it is. Please bear with me for a bit.

I remember when the US switched to unleaded gasoline. An extremely expensive move. Cars needed to change, pumps needed to be changed, gasoline formulations needed to change.
All of this to reduce the levels of lead in the environment (which IS harmful to children, particularly, but to adults as well). IIRC, catalytic converters also became required at the same time, to reduce airborne pollution from automobiles. Two BM players (the oil industry and the auto industry) both were forced to make major changes, in order for their products to be safer for the environment. This was not an easy fight, but it was the good fight, and we as a nation had the courage and strength to make it happen. Money did not override the health concerns.

(BTW, I emphasize "as a nation". I did absolutely nothing to push for unleaded gasoline; I wasn't even old enough to vote, never mind care!)

I remember (barely; I was quite young, but it was discussed much in my family) about the Civil Rights act. Our leaders took the stand that racism was not acceptable, despite acknowledging that "We just lost the South for a generation". (And whether or not that phrase was actually used, it was clearly the foreseen downside of the decision). Brave, forward-thinking, hard politics. Implemented because it was the right thing to do.

Not to mention the Sherman act, the Clayton act, etc. All these were laws that were passed to protect the public, in the face of extremely wealthy and powerful opponents, with major political clout.

Where has that spirit gone? That courage and conviction? Can anyone possibly imagine any of the above decisions actually happening today? EPA exempts BO from any disclosure or regulation for fracking........

Sorry, I know in the first line of this post I promised to bring this around to something relevant to the topic, but after going down this train of thought, I'm having a hard time getting back there. Perhaps what I'm trying to get to is that our elected officials used to be able to make unpopular decisions because of things they believed in; now government seems just to be a "one dollar one vote" thing. Whether it's BG, BP, BT, BO, it all boils down to the same thing: BM. (Except that it smells a lot worse than a real BM)

Exactly!
The only way I can see to change this is to stop voting for the Dems or Reps (same dog different coat, all spineless). I'm planning to go for the 'throwaway' candidates for the foreseeable future. You know the Libs and Indies on the ballot that get 3 votes. Or maybe revolution.

I'm liking the 'revolution' option more and more...

We already know the issues that are facing us. The trick is getting the rest of the general public this information as well so they can make an informed decision about how their government is operating and just how low they will stoop to keep the money flowing in out of our pockets into theirs. I mean whats next net nuetrality? Oh....thats right its already in the works too. This video is cut and dry and they will not be able to deny it. It really needs to follow every anti vaping commercial that is played from coast to coast IMO. Now what is it going to take to make it happen? Where do I need to donate?

I'm just being entirely uncooperative in every way that I can. I get e-mail every day asking/begging/imploring me to just go along.
Do they think someone painted me with the stupid brush while I was sleeping?

Everyone should retweet that video and share on any social media sites they frequent. I actually tweeted it and said we should make it go viral. Also that it would make an awesome commercial.

I showed that video to my Hubby and I think he shared it on his facebook page too.

I don't do any social media stuff, but I've passed it along to some fence-sitters via e-mail and other message boards. The response has been outstanding. Even people who don't really care one way or the other about vaping are showing concern about the government action. That means a lot.
It's a great video that just nails it.
