I'm sad, cigarettes don't taste as good as before...

Grinch I totally understand what you're saying. If you get the e-cigs working properly though, you can get that same satisfaction! In fact I find it a bit more pleasurable, it doesn't burn the throat and cause the junk to be caughing up in the morning. I tried a puff of american spirit a few days ago and it just didn't seem worth it anymore!

This is coming from someone that smoked pure tobacco in a PIPE (no filter!) and I TOTALLY inhaled and held that stuff in. I really liked the "High" it gives you (I hear a lot of pipe smokers just hold it in their mouths). I smoked that giant pipe like it was a cigarette! If I can find vaping just as satisfactory or better, than ANYONE can. :toast:

My biggest reality check now is when I walk up to someone else who smokes..even if they aren't smoking at the time! MY GOD IT'S A WALKING ASHTRAY! I had people tell me for years that they could tell I'd just had a smoke or that I was a smoker. I honestly didn't believe them..that they could tell. I'd say to myself..I just had a shower and all clean clothes and only smoked like 2 cigs on the way over here..there's no way they can tell! WOW! That's all I can say!

I still won't reject someone or even tell them they can't smoke in my house, car or whatever..but it is a BIG reminder when I'm around smokers.

Those chemicals in the "normal" cigarettes cause a much more powerful and lingering odor. Anyone that smokes American Spirits will tell you that people don't notice it. The smell does not linger in your clothes and hair or house (unless you JUST smoked and it is still kind of in your lungs).

That just goes to show you how bad all those chemicals are. If you're having trouble going from cigarettes to vaporizing, I would recommend using pure non-additive tobacco as a crutch.

I found out I am quite the opposite. Like you, I wanted to quit. I was tired of coughing all that junk up, I was tired of my lungs hurting, blah blah blah.

I was able to stay off analogues for almost a month until I had a big shut-down come up. I tried to go without the nicotine for two reasons. The main reason was I didn't want to break or lose one or both of my batteries, especially when they're not the cheapest thing to have to replace often... also, the 3+ day shipping was a factor... Anyway, about midway through the first day I was bumming smokes from people. The beginning of the 2nd day I had a pack. Moral of the story: I found out I DO love the taste of burning tobacco. I've been able to find flavors that resemble a cigarette, but nothing that tastes like a cigarette.

So a warning, don't fall off the wagon. It's easy to get on the first time, but each time afterwards.....
