Hi all.

I have been reading the forums for about a week now. Found you by a Google search on e-cigs.

I've been wanting to stop cigarette's for a long time, with little luck. Thought about E-cigs a while back, but never tried them.
My girlfriend, saw a disposable one about a week ago and bought it for me.
Well, I could see the advantage to using one, but this kind didn't satisfy my cravings. It said 1.6% by volume of nicotine.
By volume of what and how much. Didn't give me a clue as to how much nicotine.
I figured there must be some other kinds of e-cigs out there. Man is that an understatement after finding this forum.

I have found a lot of good info here. I finally decided on what type I wanted to get, an JOYE eGo Starter kit. But after trying several site I found links for in the new members forum, each one was out of stock. sigh. This is the one I had decided to go with, JOYE eGo, in black and with the bigger Battery. As I said, they and other sites with similar styles are out of stock. So the search goes on for that style at a price close to them, with what all is included.

The other thing I'm still working on is the strength I want. Each site I have found menthol flavor has some what different strengths. one place had 18mg and 6mg. another 24 and 12, I think it was. I've looked at so many not sure now.

So many other concerns to think about also.

So anyway, I wanted to say hi as a new member and give a little background about my search.

Welcome to the forum! 18-24 is a good place to start.

I get my juice from nhaler 24 mg. nuport. Taste is really individual though. I'd order juice from a juice vendor because most juice that comes with kits is pretty bad. Also order a box of boge 2.0 cartomizers.

Joogler has boge cartomizers and you get a free bottle of juice with your order. Use the code ECF5OFF and you get $5 off your first order. Looks like they're out of stock but if you email him he'll let you know if he has any or when they're in. I tried his peach and fruit striped gum juice and both were good. For a menthol he has 'chill' that people like.

The eGo is an excellent starter kit so you're looking in the right direction. Litecigusa.net has them in stock, and they're an excellent vendor. Look here Joye Ego | Joye Ego-T | Joye Ego Kits | Joye Ego Mega | Joytech Ego. I'd suggest a larger battery if it's within your budget, the 650 mah batteries are great, but 900 or 1000 mah batteries don't cost too much more and last considerably longer.

When juice vendors list nicotine in percentage it means per ml. So, 1.6% is the same as 16 mg. If that isn't satisfying your craving I'd suggest giving 24 mg a shot. When I started out I bought 16 mg and was vaping constantly trying to get some satisfaction. I went up to 24 mg and all was good.

I'd start with a strong juice at first. Getting off the cigs can be rough, I began with a mid 20mg strength and probably could have gone higher at first.

It's not just the nicotine strength that will help a person quit, though, getting a satisfying vape takes trial and error with different equipment. With the eGo putting out 3.2v-3.7v, you'll want to try low resistance (LR) atomizers and cartomizers. It makes a world of difference.

You're making a great choice, and I'm glad you found this forum! There is such a ridiculous amount of collective knowledge here, and everyone wants to help newcomers. ECF was a life saver to me.

My advice? Research, ask tons of questions, and keep trying until you find your sweet spot. It'll be undeniably worth it in the end!

If you are after that product then I can only suggest you go to Joyetech and follow the authorised distributor links to find the product you are looking for which is in stock.

I vape 12mg all day but started at 24mg for 1 day just to make sure the cravings were kept at bay.

Welcome to ECF

Did you try the Vapor Pro? I got my ego mega from that site recently and I recommend them. They aren't sold out. That's the site Joyetech links to as authorized distributor so you are getting the real deal.

JOYE eGo | Joye eGo-T | Electronic Cigarette

I wasn't into their juices though.

I started out with 18mg of nicotine and I thought it was perfect. Its considered moderate and- in some cases- high.

Good luck.

Info regarding nic strengths-

Beginner Tutorial - 2

What nicotine strength do I need ?
Beginners who are reasonably heavy smokers probably need the strongest liquid they can get, for two reasons:
E-cigarettes are far less efficient in delivering nicotine to the user than tobacco cigarettes, so to make up for this you may need to go strong at first. It's very easy indeed to reduce the liquid's strength with a little DIY - but hard to increase it.
Beginners have poor technique so the end result is not optimal - they don't get the full benefit of the nicotine content.
For these reasons, it is probable that, if you are a heavy or medium smoker, or prefer high-tar brands, you should order a bottle of 36mg liquid (or 30mg if that is what your vendor offers) in addition to whatever comes as standard. You can easily reduce the strength if you need to, by adding some VG (glycerine), available at every pharmacy and many general stores.

You might want to take a look at liberty-flights as they have a good selection of starter kits. The Riva 510 is a fairly good starter and you can also get juice and cartomizers there as well. Also on their main page, if you click on their logo on the top left, you'll get 20% off your entire order.

About the liquid, 1.6% is about the same as 16mg/ml. If you found that the juice wasn't quite cutting it for ya, you want to opt for some 18 or 24 to start and take it from there. By the way, congrats on deciding to make the switch and welcome to ECF!
