Welcome to the forum, and to vaping. I think you're going to be in for a pleasant surprise; namely, that your desire for cigarettes will fall away naturally, like leaves in the fall. No pain, no suffering, just the pure enjoyment of vaping any flavor you can imagine, at any strength of nicotine you want (or need) from zero to voweeee!

The following is a cut and paste of an answer I gave to someone else just starting out:

"Read this thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...been-vaping-8months-but-had-no-clue-help.html

I think it has all the info that anyone needs to get off to a solid start.

Read the post from mynameisrob, and my reply to it.

Bottom line:

E-power power source - replaceable 3.7V 18650 lithium-ion battery - get a starter kit - $55 or so?
Edit: *** Or a smaller battery/slimmer E-power power source ***
Joyetech eGo-C atomizer assembly - (cone, base, atomizer head) - get at least 2. They're like $7.50 each
Joyetech tanks (made for the Joyetech eGo-T or -C) $1.25 each
Boge 2.0 ohm dual-coil cartomizers just to see what cartos are all about. Maybe $3 each?
Juice

Then start vaping.

You'll be miles ahead of most people were after their first purchase".

***

Don't think that your first purchase has to be the ultimate, perfect device that you're going to use for the rest of your life. I really think that the "big replaceable-battery power unit with 510 threads" is a home run for anyone just starting. You can get any attachments you want for it; "attachments" being the various combinations of ways to supply juice to atomizer coils that are energized by your power source. (What I call a "power source" most others will call a "PV" (personal vaporizer)", "battery", or "mod", but I think "power source" is more to the point.

I could go on, but it's bedtime. Again, welcome to the forum, and welcome to a better, healthier life.

I was going to try to wean off analogs, and then switch entirely to e-cigs when I thought I could handle it. I ended up giving away the last of my analogs because within about a half hour of starting to vape on my joye 510, with regular "tobacco" flavoured (ry4) e-juice at 24mg strength (I cut back to 14mg within a week and a half, voluntarily), I hated the taste of analogs. I also found that 5 or 6 puffs on my e-cig was more satisfying than a cigarette. I will never look back!

Just FYI, you can get the e-Power in a somewhat smaller, less bulkier version than the 18650. I think it's a 16***(?). Last time I looked, they were going between $42-$50.

Thanks, and good point. I'm not sure why I'm going all "Tool Time" with that recommendation, when I'm perfectly happy with the staying power of my 1000mah eGo batteries. Bigger is not always better - (at least that's what I tell the ladies). :)

Sorry before I buy the website I am looking at is selling the Chrome e-power kit and it says it has an unregulated switch. Can someone please explain what this means?

Hmmm, I didn't know they made an unregulated model. Which Website, and which E-Power? I have an E-Power 14650 but it has the older style switch before they introduced the 5-click on/off function. I absolutely love it, BTW. It is regulated to 3.7 volts; what that means is, when the battery comes off the charger at +/- 4.2 volts, it is regulated down to 3.7, and that's about what the atomizer/cartomizer sees until it's time to change batteries.

Welcome to ECF, & Happy Vaping! :toast: :vapor:

Hey I just ordered it off the sweet-vapes website. Hope I didn't make a mistake by ordering the unregulated version

Haha I ordered the 18650 model.

Okay, I just took a look at it... it has an unregulated switch but should work well anyway. If you didn't order some to come with it you'll need some cartomizers & some liquid, and maybe an atomizer or two. I'd suggest getting some Boge LR 2.0 Ohm Cartos and maybe some Smoktech XL single coil 1.7 Ohm cartos. I've found the low resistance stuff works better at 3.7 volts for me, but 1.5 Ohms is a little *too* low. However, YVMV.

I ended up getting:

Boge 510D LR Soft Cap Cartomizers (double coil I think)
18650 EP ( Atomizers; Atomizers: Black_2.0_ohm)
And an ego-T tank
And 50/50 pg/vg liquid

I think I now have everything Needed to start trying out some vaping :)

Would just like to thank everyone who posted in this thread your advice and opinions were very helpful.

Cheers

Looks like you're off to a great start! I don't know where or if there are any nicotine e-liquids easily available down your way but wherever you get them, if possible it's a good idea to try several small sample sizes of different flavors to see what you'll like. Ideally it'd be great to try some from several different vendors but I expect if you had to order them all from foreign suppliers the shipping would eat you alive. I believe there's an Australian Forum here on ECF where folks can probably better advise you about stuff like this. Anyway keep us posted & let us know if we can be of any help.

Best of luck, & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Hello. I'm from Honduras. And it takes at least 15 days to receive orders (mostly Honduras customs fault) . I would recommend a passtrough if you are in your computer a lot. As for attys I actually prefer ego t / c standard atty and dislike cartomizers. It depends on personal preference but I find it easier to switch flavours without having different setups. I've had no problems with mine, been gaping for 10 months now. But my biggest pproblem has been juices. Finding what you like takes up money and a lot of misses. Until u know what u like buy smaller bottles of ejuice even if it seems like your spending more money. Wuss if you don't have people to switch or sell to your stuck with foul tasting juice
Good luck. I've been smoke free from 2nd week on. Had a 12 year old 3 pack a day habit. Cigarettes are so nasty now I. Ge tried to smoke and just can't

Hey moman i started vaping about a month ago. I was a pack a day smoker 25 analog cigs a day. I switched directly from analogs to e cigs right after supper one night. I used an ego c to do this the vape is cool and the flavor is abit muted but for me i needed the illusion of smoking, and the egos give good vapor production and a good battery life. i started with a 16 or 18 mg tobacco flavored juice and vape about 2 1.2ml tanks aday. I feel better sleep better and breathe better thanks to this. Hope this helps it can be alittle overwhelming and there is a learning curve to it but you'll get there. if you have any other quesions feel free to pm me.

I just received an email from one of the suppliers based in brisbane (I ordered a different model from them to play around with till my e-power arrives as well as so that i can have a backup just in case as it was fairly cheap.)

Could you, please, confirm that you ordered correct items in your order ####.
The reason I am asking is because you have ordered Joyetech 510-T starter kit and Joyetech 510 atomizer and eGo-T tanks.
If you ordered the atomizer and the tanks as spares for your starter kit, they would not suit the 510-T starter kit. The spares that would fit your starter kit are Joye 510-T atomizer and Joye 510-T tanks. If you would like, I can replace these items with the correct ones. If you ordered these spares for Joyetech 510 and eGo-T e-cigarettes you already own, please, let me know.
If you need any assistance or help with your order, please, let me know.

The atomizers and tanks were ordered for the e-power. Did i order the wrong ones?
