How is that possible?
I assume, if there are no wicking issues, that you only take a drag or two every few minutes.
Those of us that use these things like cigarettes ALWAYS have wicking issues.
If you use them like a cigarette, and don't have wicking issues, then you seriously need to take that thing apart and tell us all what cartridge filler material they are using, because many of us have been searching for something that will answer our prayers.
Seriously, I'm not kidding or trying to be an ....
I would like to know as well. Even if there is in fact no wicking issues, then there has to be a heat issue. I guess if you throw away your carts then avoiding burning yourself is fairly straight forward.
I like the idea of the cartomizer, but I don't like the idea of trading paper/(cotton|fiberglass) filters for plastic and metal as something that gets thrown in the trash or on the ground.
To the original post.
I have read several posts about Vapor King. I can not personally recommend them, but I can tell you I have heard a lot of good things about them. For a 'turn key' e-cig experience they are probably the best.
Fair questions and thought processes. There is a post a few down at the moment, where there are pictures of a disassembled cartomizer. Here is the link for that. It appears to be design rather than filler that makes the difference. Since the atomizer is embedded within the material rather than above it, the wicking issues are minimized.
I don't use my VK like a cigarette - I actually use it more. I chain vape like you would not believe. What stops me, is not a wicking problem, but an overheating one. Like most atty's even the cartomizer on a VK can be vaped too much and has to be laid down on occasion to cool off. I don't have to toss them out if I overheat, I just have to get around this by keeping an extra cartomizer on hand and just rotating when one I am using gets too hot.
That said, it takes me 10 or more solid back to back pulls before I overheat a cartomizer - which still beats my atty's on my other devices. I can get it warm in about 6, but bear in mind, I am a serious chain vaper. So 10 pulls for me are real pulls. I can out-drag an 8 second cutoff. I am not saying this to brag, I just want folks to be clear that I am not doing wimpy pulls. For the average vaper, I can't see the overheating issue even coming in to play.
