How is that possible?

I assume, if there are no wicking issues, that you only take a drag or two every few minutes.
Those of us that use these things like cigarettes ALWAYS have wicking issues.

If you use them like a cigarette, and don't have wicking issues, then you seriously need to take that thing apart and tell us all what cartridge filler material they are using, because many of us have been searching for something that will answer our prayers.

Seriously, I'm not kidding or trying to be an ....

I would like to know as well. Even if there is in fact no wicking issues, then there has to be a heat issue. I guess if you throw away your carts then avoiding burning yourself is fairly straight forward.

I like the idea of the cartomizer, but I don't like the idea of trading paper/(cotton|fiberglass) filters for plastic and metal as something that gets thrown in the trash or on the ground.

To the original post.

I have read several posts about Vapor King. I can not personally recommend them, but I can tell you I have heard a lot of good things about them. For a 'turn key' e-cig experience they are probably the best.

Fair questions and thought processes. There is a post a few down at the moment, where there are pictures of a disassembled cartomizer. Here is the link for that. It appears to be design rather than filler that makes the difference. Since the atomizer is embedded within the material rather than above it, the wicking issues are minimized.

I don't use my VK like a cigarette - I actually use it more. I chain vape like you would not believe. What stops me, is not a wicking problem, but an overheating one. Like most atty's even the cartomizer on a VK can be vaped too much and has to be laid down on occasion to cool off. I don't have to toss them out if I overheat, I just have to get around this by keeping an extra cartomizer on hand and just rotating when one I am using gets too hot.:D

That said, it takes me 10 or more solid back to back pulls before I overheat a cartomizer - which still beats my atty's on my other devices. I can get it warm in about 6, but bear in mind, I am a serious chain vaper. So 10 pulls for me are real pulls. I can out-drag an 8 second cutoff. I am not saying this to brag, I just want folks to be clear that I am not doing wimpy pulls. For the average vaper, I can't see the overheating issue even coming in to play.

I can also vouch for the VaporKing. It is amazing! The only way the 510 even came close was when I was dripping on the atty - seriously! I got so fed up with the maintanence on the 510 and the pen style I had that when I heard about the VK, I was willing to let hundreds of dollars worth of vaping devices gather dust and order the VK. I have never regretted that decision and it is my all day, take everywhere, and sit in front of the computer vape. I would put the manual passthrough up against any of the mods, dripping or no! This things rocks!

Oddly enough, I thought I would lend out my 510 to people who might want to give vaping a try but in the end I ended up buying extra carts and batteries so I could lend out the VK. I couldn't see them even giving vaping a chance with the 510. Fortunately, Steve at Vapor4Life provides such wonderful customer service and always throws in extras which makes sharing with others less painful on my wallet lol!

There aren't enough words to express how grateful I am to the people at V4L - they are awesome and provide, in my opinion, the best ecig out there! If you don't mind fussing with the cleaning, dripping, topping off carts, buying expensive Mods to make it work better etc... etc... then I guess the 510 is fine. If you want an easy, take everywhere ecig - VaporKing is it! And the carts are easily refilled up to 10 times. I am a dedicated fan! Could you tell? ;)

Yeah, I saw that, but I didn't understand what I was looking at.
:(

It looks like there is some kind of long tube that goes through the filler.
But where exactly is the atomizer on that thing?

Bristow, Ok.
I think everyone when they start vaping looks for something that looks like a cigarette. It doesn't take long for that urge to go away. Pretty soon you will just be concerned with battery life and easy to maintain. The options are endless. What works for one might not work for everyone. Once you find the best for you it is wonderful.

It is a cartomizer. The atty is built right into the cart, or the cart is built right into the atty lol! Whichever you prefer to look at it! It is a two piece, not a 3 piece. The cartomizers can be refilled up to 10 times before you toss them. I can't even begin to tell you how much happier I am with the VaporKing over my 510 and penstyle - there is really no comparision unless you don't mind dripping or topping off carts all day long. ;)

I understand all that, I just can't figure out from looking at those pictures where the actual atomizer is.

Just pick one you can get the quickest and start. I got the SmokeingEverywhere brand because it was the only one available right in my town. It defiantly is not a favored one on this forum but I am loving it and have not smoked a full cig sense the day I bought it. There is a learning curve and this second week of use is better than the first. The tips from the forum solved my problems. JUMP IN YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Glad it is working for you! Anything that gets you off cigs is a good thing in my book! ;)

Great info! thanks everyone. Still trying to decide. Here's a bit more on my smoking habit. I tend to chain smoke when I'm home. It doesn't bother me to have to smoke outside (even in the snow or rain) while I'm at work. I smoke merit ultra lights 100s at a cost of $98.50 per carton, so I don't mind an intial expense. Looks like any brand of e-cig will save me quite a bit of $$. I would like to eventually quit altogether but I don't foresee that in the near future. I am tired of my home and car smelling like smoke, and I am really furious that the cost of analogs keeps going up - mostly state tax.

You will LOVE vaping! Before making your decision, be sure to check out the V4L board Vapor4Life - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat - we are all pretty happy there! ;) I am smitten with my VK manuals! The manual passthrough is the bomb!

Whatever you end up going with, good luck to you and happy vaping!

Thanks! I Did get so much info here! What a Great forum!! Everyone is so helpful!! I look forward to being a part of such a great community! I know that if I have trouble with my choice then help will be instant. I don't mind changing brands if I'm not happy (geez at $98 per carton x 2 smokers) switching brands doesn't seem like a high price.

3 days is excellent!

I am leaning towards the VaporKing. I just e-mailed them asking for a bit of guidance. How long does it take to receive your orders from them?

I usually get my stuff in about 3 business days as well. With all the VK evangelism Jen and I have been doing, I would not be surprised if we have slowed them down a bit!:D

With your questions, if you have not done so already, head on over to the Vapor4Life sub-forum. There are several folks over there that will try to help you with anything you might need to know.

Yeah, guilty as charged! lol ;) If my orders start taking a day longer I will have only myself to blame! Well, unless I choose to blame YOU instead! Yeah, that's it! It's YOUR fault! lol

Can't help it, I just wish I had heard about this first! And remember chica - you were the one who brought this to my attention so, in fact, it really IS your fault! But as I sit here vaping away happily, I will forgive you! Unless my package is late! :p

When I first started vaping my wife and I were really interested in getting something that most closely resembled a cigarette too, once I had received it (m401) I found that the battery life or lack thereof made me search for something else. .................

............P.S. I know many others are happy with the 510 and from what I understand it is a decent product.
In my experience the battery life on a M401 (well certainly with the EVO & EM4) is superior to that of my 510s
