Greetings,

Y'Know.... I actually thought that maybe (just maybe).... I wasn't the only one who thought or felt this way.

I guess I was wrong.

Thank You for calling this thread TROLLISH (Borescoped). That's all I'm looking for.....
Honesty..... in however raw form it may come.

So............along the lines of Honesty........Can you share with us what happened to upset you so? There really are a lot of good people here, not only willing to advise, but willing to listen.:)

Again, you are mistaken. I'm absolutely no clearer to understanding why you posted in the first place. We cannot help someone that doesn't want to be helped, as you've cleared up for us. We already know how to help others, so you've shown us nothing. You've left nowhere to go. So, whatever you were after, I guess we all missed. I won't be revisiting.

I don't think a blanket statement about vaping can be made... either pro or con. It can be about specific hardware or juice and person-specific desires/temperament/needs but not generally because these three things will affect one's experience. The only blanket (con) I can think of is: If you're not prepared to totally commit, it may not work for you so... advice... know yourself well, do some pretty deep research and then start with the lowest investment you think is reasonable for your budget... and, if it doesn't work for you, don't blame it on vaping per se since it does, obviously, work for so many. Acknowledge possible bad choices in equipment/juice and your own temperament.

Personally, I wouldn't consider this a troll thread at all, I think it's probably a good idea, if taken a little too seriously in some of these replies. Not calling anybody out on it, after all, everyone has their opinions, but please remember text does not convey tone of voice.

As far as the topic goes, I'll reiterate what everyone else has said pretty much:

Expect not to save money in the beginning, you're going to be trying twenty or thirty juices looking for 'the one' most likely. I got lucky as I smoked kreteks and immediately found a few good clove flavors I enjoyed, now I just experiment with others when I have the cash.

Expect to have to fiddle with your nicotine level. There's no science, regardless of what you might have heard, about X packs a day equals this strength nicotine in your vape. I smoked one or two cigarettes per day and I had to use 24-36mg to quit. Most start at 12 or even 6 if they smoked as lightly as I did. It all comes down to the individual.

Don't buy cheap, it'll bite you in the backside. If you're a 2PAD smoker, cigalikes are going to be high maintenance, get an eGo or an even higher-end VV/VW like a Vamo with a tank on it.

Greetings Borescoped,

Information.....
This thread is INTENDED for POTENTIAL vapers. People who "might" think that vaping will solve their problems.
This thread is NOT about my own experience. It's about warning POTENTIAL vapers of what MIGHT be in store for them. That's All ....
I'm NOT looking for attention. I'm NOT looking for pity. Because I feel like I was lied to....this is my (own) reason for starting this thread. To be honest.... these devices should've NEVER been called "E-Cigarettes" .... they should've been called "Flavor-Inhalers"

....based on almost EVERY opinion stated here..... it could "never" replicate or come close to a real cigarette.... so WHY compare it to one !?!?! I'm not angry.... I just want people to be aware and make intelligent choices.... maybe better choices.....

Some of us do not call them e cigs because they are nothing like a cig. We call them pv's or Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhaler Systems you can put those caps together yourself :) believe me there are a lot of vapers who wish the word ecig wasnt used.

+1 on this. I bought 2 juices from the B&M with my starter kit. One I loved and one I hated. If I had only gotten the one I hated, I would have probably thrown everything in the trash that day, without a prior warning about how hard it is to find a juice you like.

Well, many of us here feel that this is a good thing. Many of us did state what we thought newbies should be warned about. Apparently, that wasn't good enough, and you wanted more?

Honestly, aside from PO'ing my wife with the money I've been spending... I've got no downside/cons/negatives. I feel better. I smell better (to others, and what I can smell). I can taste foods better. I run faster over longer distances. I can enjoy not killing myself anymore. I don't waste time at work taking smoke breaks (unless I get called out.. even then, I don't like going out there. I quit smoking, why would I want to be around second hand?)

Just seemed like you kept digging for dirt, and if my comment bothered you about this thread feeling trollish, sorry, but it does come across that way to some of us.

Greetings,

Started Vaping : July 1st, 2013

My first and only purchase (so far) :

Joyetech eGo-C Twist 1000mAh "Kit" (no e-Juice) = $43.75 (to the door price)

So you got an eGo Twist and some mtb flavors, you didn't like them and feel the need to make all your posts about how you haven't quit smoking, yes I read them all, I appreciate the idea that there are certain things that smokers should know before starting vaping its not a cure all, especially not for everyone, but your consistently negative attitude towards vaping is easily picked up, this is a pro-vaping forum you may be in the wrong place.

I'm sorry that you feel lied to, and vaping didn't work out for you, I would hope that you would be able to try some more delivery methods and flavors, I know you found the PIF threads and maybe someone there will be able to help you out. I know it can be hard when you see your self spending 2months or more worth of tobacco money on this vaping thing and its just not cutting it. I jumped in head first and spent 300$ on gear shortly after I bought my starter kit. Not everyone can afford to do that and their first purchases need to last them.

When I started vaping there was a ton of B&M shops in my area and they allowed me to sample juices till I found something that I could work with. I have since found better things, but the person to person interaction really helped especially with finding a juice since its really hard to just throw money away on something that ends up being a waste.

Maybe you could try doing something similar? Or not, its up to you. I hope you find something that works for you, or if not don't come into the forums and be all negative about how it didn't work for you. It has helped a lot of people quit, myself included.

That's All ..... seriously . . . . . . that's all. Please DO NOT make this about me..... frankly, that's too late.
What would I WARN you about?

As a new vaper myself, I would warn you to remember "Let the buyer beware." Try to find a brick-and-mortar outlet so you can actually SEE what you are buying. I know I bought a cig-a-like this way, and although it certainly as helped me cut down on the analogs (from 1 large pack a day to 3 small packs a week), it is not quite enough to get me completely off the analogs.

I would also warn you that this is a journey, not a race. There are no truly right or wrong ways to walk on your journey, as it will be your own. Expect to make mistakes, expect to have failures, and, above all, DO NOT expect a perfect trade-off, because there isn't one.

I have followed this forum for a while now, and am forever grateful for all the wonderful people here, and their wisdom and knowledge of vaping, which they freely share here. I've learned a lot from everyone, from the successes and failures that each one has made to get to where they are. I now am making my own mistakes, and hope to find an e-cig right for me, and learn to make my own juices, in time, to save a buck or two.

My final warning to you is not to patronize, belittle or insult these good people. They are here to help through their own experience, and share their knowledge freely.

Two warnings:

1. If you're not ready to quit, no device on earth will make you quit. E-cigs can help with the physical addiction to nicotine and the psychological attachment to having something in your hand, but if you don't want to quit, you simply won't. End of story.

2. The insomnia part sucks. Don't chain vape after sunset and try to use a lower nicotine strength at night. Nicotine is a powerful stimulant.

I'll warn you that after about 5 days you will experience a sense of euiphoria. One that says "holy ...., I feel so good". Mine occurred 2 weeks ago in the swimming pool after quitting dipping for good.

Second warning, don't work up to your "end mod". Just buy it first, I always knew I'd get provari but still managed to waste money on about 4 devices before giving in and buying it. Your wallet will thank you.

#1 it isn't as easy as buying a pack of cigarettes. You actually have to use your brain cells as well as 'trial and error' to find the right fit.
#2(a) you might find yourself forgetting to smoke your cigarettes within the 1st week
(b) when you do remember, your cigarettes will taste and smell disgusting
#3 you will soon become immersed in politics revolving around ecigs because they have saved your life and there are stupid people out there trying to stop others from being saved for stupid idiotic reasons.
