Looking at the center post of that atty,.... did you, by any chance,... make this one a hybrid???

There's really no need to hybridize this mod. It already delivers current better than any other mod I've vaped (@ two months in w/ no appreciable maintenance). However, to the point: no sir, that was actually an atty that I had modified for BF, and then I needed a dripper atty for my dual battery mod, and so I had to make a new centerpost for it. I just threw it on there to capture the switch, and to arrange the internals and get a connection for testing the button.
Well then, the trail of clues has not led you to the answer......behold,
Ok, so here's what the button switches will look like on this first batch. Well, they won't look like this in that they won't be this Rosewood Burl. Also, too, tho, this one has some quirks that won't be SOP. I did mine first, as the guinea pig button. I established some good techniques and discovered a handful of hoopdies. Took me all day, but I think, not only did I get 'er done; but I'm pretty sure I've ironed out all the kinks for the rest of them. Speaking of kinks, this one has a little lump in the "flat" part running along the cap. That was a snootcher-method for shortening it's footprint and getting on with the rest of the steps. The other switches should not be kinky. Also, I didn't finish my button properly. Again, won't be the case with yer-allses.
Given that this took me all day, I'm only getting to the other 9 switches tomorrow, and those will likely take more than a full day . .. .

That looks really, really good. I'm curious to see a richlite or ivory/bone button helmet as contrast on someone's pinch. Just like with Peter's previous peccadillos, there are some woods that call out for matching and some that work better with contrasting accents. It will be interesting to see what you come up with Mr. Bee. Jade? Fossilized dingo doo-doo? The possibilities are endless....

I'm with you Rob. I love the white woods - my first Dibi was copper and cream. So beautiful.
I remember this one well. I wanted my next one to be just like it. The really light maple Burl like that one is hard to find. I'd been on the look-out for it but haven't seen it again. Like pdib mentioned, there's the box elder which is almost as light but the figures in the grains are not the same.
Your's and Mundy's - those are especially stunning, very light creame color. Very beautiful mod's!

I was going to go "nekid" until I saw this latest button. It just looks too good to pass up. It just gives it a more finished look.
How hard is it to disassemble that switch and clean the contacts? It seems it is held on the mod by the atty?
