I have already mentioned this to Rob and I would also like to mention it here. This is not intended to upset or "T" off anyone...especially you Rob! This is just my observation and 8 months experience with the S.B...I'm not a P.V. expert.
I don't know about some of you but I have recently tried to purchase some of these new mods with "juice wells" coming out with no luck at all. There always sold out! and the only time I could ever catch one would be if I quit my job and stalked the web...ain't happening. The only reason I'm looking is this.... (by the way, I drip, period. I guess you could say this post is meant for drippers)

No matter what I do (and I don't do cartomizers anymore) any atty I try on the S.B., no matter how careful I am not to overfill...eventually..it leaks and runs down the side onto my fingers and I have a mess. I do realize that this is not the fault of the S.B...it's the atty, plain and simple. Here is what I would like to see happen with evolution and the S.B...I'm also curious if any of you would like to see the same.

I would like to see a new "TOP" made for the S.B. so I will never have to hunt around for another P.V. I want a top with a juice well for the S.B. and I want it now!! (and yes I enjoy blueberry too)...

If anyone else would like to see this happen, please voice it here and let Robert know that this would be a good evolution thing.
If for some reason it just wouldn't work or if you would like to tell me to take a hike...please, feel free.

and of course...Merry Christmas ya filthy animals.:) oh, and you too Rob.
p.s. If you decide against this I will still NEVER sell my s.b...it's mine forever!!

So far 31 views and no one would like to see a recessed atty connection in the top with a small well so the juice will be sucked back in with no mess? OK then, I guess I'm in left field.

While I understand your quest and I feel your pain I just don't see a significant movement of wellers materializing any time soon :)

As a dripper you're part of a small minority.
Most drippers are dripping while stationary and those with holes in their attys usually have napkins within their grasp.

The down side of a well at the connector is that ... it would collect juice around/in the connector. While SB/BB/Omega connectors are quite well sealed it still makes a mess down in the connector which is harder to clean up than wiping it off your fingers and the PV top.

If it was just a small groove around the top then it's not going to hold much and would require immediate attention in the event of a spill anyway.

Extensive marketing studies have found that the overwhelming majority of SB users thought a well at the top would be asthetically unappealing. :)

Two nights ago I was driving down the highway by myself after sunset. I was dripping away on my silver bullet running at 6 volts with a HV306 atty. At some point I think "is my hand wet, or am I just sweating." I flick on the map light only to see that I have about an entire ML of juice that has coated my bullet and is all over my fingers. :(

This is not the first time this has happened. But in the big picture:

The Omega has obviously become the flagship model offered from altsmoke. And although the Omega does have those two little rings around the atty connection, they are not deep enough, especially if the Omega has been powder coated or anodized.

I agree that this needs to be implemented into future models. For instance look at the juice wells on some of the newer bottom feeding mods. Now, I'm not asking for a feeding system, but those deep wells can also make the over-dripped juice be sucked up into an atty, instead of running down the side of the mod.

Admittedly, I have been somewhat spoiled by the cone on my Riva (ego clone).

Drippers a small minority? I would bet that 75% of e-cig users are drippers.

Furthermore I ( and I would assume many others) would prefer to clean up a small well around the atty connection that have juice running down the unit and having to carrry 50 napkins everywhere they go.

Deep subject here  Quick, did Rob put you up to that answer?. As far as the clean up goes...I already have to take off the atty and stick a towel inside the threaded opening to clean out the juice so a little bit wider or deeper opening wouldn't bother me a bit. It's the part when the juice comes out the holes it has only one place to go...on top and down the side. The precise top is appealing to me but the price for an 18650 is not. One of those reo things look nice and mess free but I'll never be able to get one. I already have a bottom for the s.b. so a recessed top would be perfect for me...I'd probably buy two of them. The whole point of the design would be so when the juice leaked out it could be sucked back in on the next drag.
I guess with me it's more like this...I'm not a mod ...... In 8 months of vaping all I have is the s.b, ego and riva. The ego and riva are great because of the cone and the only time I need to clean that mess is when the battery needs charged.(and that is sometimes very messy, all over the atty, in the atty connector and inside the cone).
I just figured if I could stay with what I already have and make it more satisfying with a bit of a tweak....rocks.:) I didn't realize drippers were minorities. :?:

I don't have enough PV experience to vote on whether or not juice wells are effective. A YouTuber said the extra juice that pooled in the rings of his Omega got sucked back up but I haven't found that to be the case. A pool becomes a trickle down the side for me, especially if I have to blow into a pawn style drip tip. I have few leaking or dripping problems with the SB, which is surprising because I don't know what the hell I'm doing half the time.

Rob has nothing to do with the way the SB is designed, I do. I have had some requests for the drip well. I can assure you that %75 of vapers are NOT drippers.
If you have juice running down your hand, you did something wrong. Some atties will leak like hell, replace them. When an atty leaks that bad it is poorly manufactured and most likely does not produce the proper amount of vapor or is a bit harsh. The 306 atties are a big PITA, they are gonna leak if your drip tip is not perfect. Even if it is perfect it will expand from the heat and still leak later on.
As far as drip wells, I have said this before, they are places for juice and other things to sit. They corrode the connectors and the finish. Even though they are supposed to be cleaned there are many that will not. It would be a breeding ground for bacteria.
If you have to wipe the drip well clean as well, what is the issue wiping the top of the unit? Without the drip well being able to hold 1ml of juice(gross) when you tip it to vape it, is gonna go all over your hand in the first place.

Oh and the EGO, I have used one. The juice is all over the atty connector... getting inside the unit. Sealed connector or not, if there is no presssure on the seal it ain't sealed :)

Another note, atomizers were designed to be used with carts(fail) they were not meant to be drowned in liquid. The connectors are pressed into a thin stainless shell, all of these parts have a tolerance of .001in off one way could mean leak city. LOL I don't think the chinese fill them with liquid as part of thier QC. Although I wonder if they piss in some of them... that primer is naaaassty

I always advertise for Rob. The epotime of a straight up vendor. AND he sells Chad's stuff which is where I've spent the majority of my business with him :)

That would depend on a lot of things. One being the atty you're using. A Joye 510 for example draws air up through the atty from the threads. There are little holes drilled in the side of the male thread just above the threaded part. It's conceivable it could suck in juice that's collected at the connector. 901 attys (which I used almost exclusively when I was doing 6v) do not draw air throught the threads and have a small hole in the side of the barrel above the coil. Those would definitely not draw juice collected around the connector.

Rob has nothing to do with the way the SB is designed,
oh man, we know that...thow Rob under the bus. At least he could let people think that and feel more important :)

I can assure you that %75 of vapers are NOT drippers.

I'm going with 5% drippers or less (I'd lay even money on 3%). Not people who have dripped sometime, or drip on rare occassion, but people who drip most of the time.

I guess I'm going to take those last few posts as a resounding ......NO
It was worth a shot. I am curious though as to why I don't see any complaints about the precise or some of the box mods with juice wells when it comes to the bacteria. The bacteria can grow in the atty or a cart also. Not many people clean their attys every day either. Honestly the bacteria part is the least of my worries....still though thanks for the s.b. cddz, it got me off the analogs for good-kudos.

FWIW, I've come to see juice wells as required standard equipment. But for the SB--at least for the black persuasion--that would have to involve a coating in the bowl more resistant to corrosion than the paint provides.

The paint on my BSB began to recede from the connector within a couple of weeks, and I was very conscientious about wiping spills immediately.

I thought it was just me with those problematic 306's!

A fellow vaper appily got ahold of a popular mod with a drip well/pool but doesn't like the way the juice just sits there exposed or that, because of it, the mod can't be tossed into a purse on the fly. Purse tossing on the fly is as necessary as breathing so that and the bacteria thing (ewww) are reason enough for me.

I've almost completely given up on dripping because it's a pain in the .... I can never figure out how many drags I've got left before I'm vaping naked atty and anything requiring that much concentration should have a pay check attached to it. But I would like to know if a Joye 510 is the same as 510 when I'm looking at more attys with which to waste minutes of my life.

My vote is CDDZ build us all a stainless Steel all mechanical Box Mod in the same or better quality that you make your tube mods, this Box Mod will have room for at least a 6ml preferably 15-20ml juice bottle that is squeezable to deliver our juice threw a 1/8 wall tube that goes into a stainless steel tube then into the Atty so we don't need no dam well. It would have the coolest switch that any box mod has ever seen before for our on off switch and then this discussion ends because CDDZ's box mod would be the ultimate mechanical Box Mod machined with precision as usual and not only be beautiful to look at but it would vape like a monster like all the rest of his mods do.! nough said.!

Hey Sew, if you are not cleaning your atty and cart (and juice well)every day via alcohol bath or what have you, then the bacteria will start happening. Dripping has nothing to do with it.

That sounds great to me also. Please tell him to make sure he builds at least 10,000 units so I could actually purchase one:p

While I am not necessarily advocating a drip/juice well ( I am quite happy with my Omega as it is ), I do think that, even though as a proportion of all PV users, drippers probably are a small minority, of those purchasing an SB, Omega, or other high end device, they are likely a majority. I have no real data to back this up, though, so this is just speculation.
