Impressions of my first PV experience...

Hey everyone! very new here. I'd started a post a week or so ago asking a bunch of questions and such. All the talk of vaping got me very excited, so i immediately went and ordered my first PV. I got an eGo from goodprophits.com and a few bottles of 24mg juice to try. I kinda wanted to share my first impressions and a bunch of questions, lol

First and foremost, vaping is already WAY different then smoking! Much different then i'd expected. I've been watching all of these videos on youtube of people dripping with eGo and other PVs, and getting tons and tons of smoke. Seems what I've read and heard is true... there is a big learning curve starting out, lol. More details, i got an eGo with the regular atomizers, along with a pack of metal clearomizers, so i had something that i can carry with me to work and use on the go. Both the atomizers and clearomisers are plain jain, no low resistance or dual anything yet... though my new friends at vapetalk tell me dual coils are the way to go. Also, i got all 4 of my new juices 100% VG, goodprophits seems to have a wider variety of VG juice then anything else.

so anyway, got my eGo, charged it up. Wanted to try dripping first, to avoid the hassle of filling things up to start off with. I got a plastic drip tip, and bought a metal one with my starter kit, cuz i think it looks better with the eGo. Take of my empty cartridge from the atomizer, twisting because it seems easier... and probably broke the atomizer. Like i said... learning curve... :p

got the other one apart and dripped a few drops of vanilla. Atomizer popped at me, and no smoke. I'd read about possibly flooding the atomizer, and heard to blow it out from the bottom if i do. Blew it out, and it worked just fine. YAY! I'm vaping! Fill clearomizers while i'm so happy with myself vaping... test one out to see if i did it right. Those clearomizers gave me way more smoke! sweet, lol. still not happy with the flavor... maybe because of VG? I didn't think it was THIS big of a difference. Just the same, I'm buzzing like i did with my first cigarette, lol.

still nothing like i'd seen on youtube, but i suppose it takes practice. Still, if anyone has any pointers for a pure beginner, please share! Will probably try to get a mod, or at least more sample juice and stuff before long. Fell into some money out of nowhere (sweet...). Thanks for all the help everyone!

ps: "throat hit" is nothing like smoking a big drag either, lol

In my experience, 80/20 pg to vg doesn't effect the flavor much and helps with vapor. For the sweeter flavors, vg works really well imo, and I have some 60/40 that tastes great and makes a fog. If you want to try a mod, I recommend the e-power. It's a 3.7v ego type mod (bigger that the ego tho) that performs really well and doesn't break the bank. Congrats on making a start and it's downhill from here. :vapor:

Congratulations! It sounds like you've got some good equipment and you have lots of possibilities to try out (not even counting juice).

One thing I'd suggest (if you aren't already aware of it). Vape *slowly*....draw it into your mouth, much like drinking a milkshake...then inhale (instead of swallowing). Long slow draws give better vapor and flavor than short hard ones like with analogs.

Alright, after vaping all of last night, i have a few questions and a few issues, so lets just jump right in!

I've seen a bunch of people using drip tips and attys. Come to realize, my atty isn't broken, i must have flooded the thing. so my issue, i keep on flooding the atty, blowing it out, having burnt dry hits, putting a few drops in, then flooding it again. beginners luck, the first hour or two i seems to have a decent experience dripping. after a while though, it seemed to become more of a fight with my atty then anything. I've been watching vaportalklive, meeting people and socializing there. everyone's vaping away, and i spend an hour, maybe an hour and 1/2 trying to get things working right. 1 and 1/2 hours fighting this thing without a bit of nicotine... i was mad at the world there for a while.

I switched to the ce2 clearomizers i got, which i was going to save for work. much better, not nearly as frustrating to keep dripping and trying to get it right. And the nicotine was there like i wanted. thank goodness!

meanwhile, does anyone have any tips for dripping this VG juice? i've been only dripping 2 or 3 drops at a time. I'd like to try to get this thing figured out so i can save the hassle of refilling the clearomizers at home. Thanks for the help!

If you want to try dripping, order a 306 atomizer and a delrin drip tip. That'll cost you about $12 and will give you just about the best taste available. Drip three drops into the drip tip, wipe off any juice on the edge, give it a few seconds to soak in and vape.

The 306 has standard 510 threads. The atomizer is only about 3/4" long and the drip tip slides over it. The 306 has a large exposed bridge with wicking in the center. It's perfect for dripping.

Mixes vary from 100% PG to 100% VG and every where in between. 70pg/30vg, 80/20, and 50/50 are all popular. Sample and pick your mix. Generally, the more PG, the more throat hit and taste. Harshness varies with the mix. Some are smooth and some are full of throat hit.

Your experience with dripping sounds a lot like mine. I guess it takes a lot of practice to get it right. For that reason, I generally only drip when I'm trying out new juices. I'm also not a real fan of clearomizers. I find they diminish the flavor of my juices.

What I've found works best for me while using an eGo is the boge 2.0 cartomizers. They are pretty easy to fill, provide good flavor, and seem to give a better throat hit. I might add that I always use a drip tip with the cartomizer to prevent "juice in the mouth syndrome" and any discomfort that may be caused by heat. They also just look cool, imo. I haven't tried the dual cores yet because I'm pretty happy with the boges, but I've heard good things about them.

Since everybody is different, it takes some experimentation to find what works best for you. This is a new industry with new developments coming out on nearly a daily basis which makes it kind of exciting. You will also find that your tastes and needs will change over time.

Welcome to ecf. I'm sure you will find this is an excellent source of information and ideas.
