So, unless newbs have a ton of money, and have good eyes, technically savvy, and they don't have movement disorders like myself, they shouldn't be vaping? You're that superior to the human race? That model has its problems too, but I can't cut little bits of wire, sting wicks ,etc. rba's not in near future, and I don't plan to vape forever (not even a year if I an help it). I don't expect everyone to agree with that, as I expect everyone is not living on disability like myself, or do you wish your tax dollars spent on kayfuns, Russians, and provaris? When I get my needs met elsewhere? You must be young, because wisdom is tolerance.

So much hypocrisy in this post.

I'll make sure to know every detail about a posters disabilities, technical limitations and finances before I respond from now on.

I order my 30s coils from FT for $8.94 for 5. Have had no troubles with them. It is definitely a step up from a Protank 1. I have an Aerotank and I would agree that it is a very good tank. Vaping with it now. Problem with tanks is that they are very subjective. Depends on the draw, how easy it is to fill, the drip tip they come with, etc. And we all have different takes on that. I am currently trying to get off all tanks that you need to buy coils for. Switching to RBAs. Better vaping and you can set it up any way that you want.

That's the thing, $9 for 5 coils might not seem like a lot but by the end of the year it adds up. When you make the switch to rebuildables you'll probably spend $9 a year on coil and wick supplies, probably less. A roll of wire and a pleat of cotton could last years.

As for the vape quality improvement...

Personally, I'd recommend the Innokin Iclear 16. It's never given me any problems and many have. The capacity is about 1.6 mls, but they make an iclear 30 with a 3 ml capacity. I also have a Vivi Nova with 3 ml capacity that I really like. The coil heads are fairly inexpensive (about a buck or so apiece, maybe less ) especially when you buy multiple 5 packs. You don't have to Sam's shopper on .... buying bulk to get a good deal, but you will save substantially when you buy more that 1 at a time. The giant auction website has deals on coils frequently, so shop around... enjoy!

My wife is using the Aspire ET-S Bottom Dual Coil (BDC) Glassomizer and I use the Aspire BDC Maxi tank. I prefer the Maxi because it has a removable drip tip. Both are great tanks and fill from the bottom. Easy to use and to fill if you have dexterity issues. They are also an inexpensive alternative since both can be found for under $10. I think I paid around $6 for my Maxi's on my last purchase. The ET-S is a glass tank and the Maxi is plastic.
Here's a few links if you want to take a look:
Aspire ET-S Bottom Dual Coil (BDC) Clearomizer
Volt Aspire Maxi BDC

Keep in mind if your battery only has a 51o thread then a 510-ego adapter will be needed. They can be found on many sights and are usually $2.50 or less.

And how does that help the OP?

If dripping were my only option in vaping, I would still be smoking. I spend too much time in rent a cars and running to catch planes to put up the hassle and mess of dripping. The BC's have been a godsend to someone like me: easy head swap and just load them up and go. My device has to be something I can take out of my pocket and vape when I can.

This type of negativity either makes the people who can't get good results with the BC Kanger's very stupid or the ones who do get good results very smart.

I own and have tried almost every topper out there: Russian's, Genesis, and even carto tanks. Why I even use RDA's for testing DIY juices stiff micro coil with cotton; just pull the wick, rinse, and rewick. I also own just about every BC out there both clones and original Kanger's. I will use different toppers for different juices. Sometimes it takes a while to figure things out. Lord knows how many attempts and hours I spent on trying to figure out the genesis.

These are the things the OP can try:

1) Swap out your head every second tank. Don't toss it, just clean it in a solution of denture cleaner or something similar. Do remove the chimney. Rinse, dry burn, and re-assemble. The coils in the BC's are not big, and some juices will clog them quickly. Also, the BC's are really not a universal topper. It's a fact of life. I have never had any issues with a 70/30 mix of PG/VG. The Boba's I ran through mine gave me grief.
2) Take the chimney grommet off of another head. Flip it, slide it down the chimney. It might give you the seal you need.
3) Try removing one of the flavor wicks
4) Try rewicking with cotton.

There is no such thing as plug and play in the vape world, or one size fits all. If there were, you would not find so many different types of atty's or mods.

Some stuff is crap like the original Gotvapes Fluxomizers which cracked with just about every juice out there. But if so many people are using a product successfully, then there can only be three reasons: user error, wrong product for your vaping style, and I have already mentioned the third.

I was not being negative. I was offering my experience with tanks and my solution to the problem. If I had stayed with tanks I would have gone back to smoking. If he is having a hard time finding a tank he likes than dripping may be a more enjoyable experience as it was for me.

I'm a fan of the Kanger Unitank, but you do have to be careful to only fill it when your juice is below the second tank, or you'll flood and gurgle. Otherwise, I have 3 of them and have zero issues. I also use DCT pyrex tanks as well- great vapor and flavor, with no worries about flooding or gurgling.

So the Unitank has zero issues other than flooding & gurgling - the exact things the OP wants to get away from.

kayfun or Russian 91 clone or genuine of either depending on budget.Very easy build for an RBA imo and you can micro coil with out a blow torch if you're brave and there is about a million youtube videos on how to do it.

^^This.

Coil building is ridiculously easy and the rewards from switching to a chimney style tank like those mentioned above are countless.

My R91s and Kayfuns never leak, flood or gurgle.
The flavour is outstanding, as is the vapour production.

I group all the kanger, iclear, vivi novas et al together because they are severely lacking in design and function. If it's all you have ever used you don't know what you are missing but to recommend one as an upgrade over another is laughable.

Have used the Kanger Mini, Anyvape Davide Mini, Anyvape Davide BDC, Anyvape Davide King, Innokin iClear 30s, Vision Nano, and Aspire Nautilus. Been doing this now for a full 2 months, quit smoking on new year's eve. All of these have worked very well for me. I think I got the best flavor from the Kanger/Davide Minis (they are about the same thing). That said, I use the Vision Nanos on 510 batteries for work and they are really cheap and really good tasting. These are also great since I can easily switch back and forth between juices. The Nautilus I have two of those. Love the airflow adjustment, but the coils have not lasted for me and these are hard to get (must be a common problem). The Davide King I just got (with just two months of getting everything, everything I got I just got, hehe), but this one is a BDC that you can fill from the top. This is fantastic. It gurgles now and then but a little care and it's great. What I'm settling on are the Nautilus and the Nanos. The Nautilus for my favorite juices and the Nanos for everything else.

Maybe I'll get a VTR to wrap around the Davide King so I can fill it without removing it........

So much hypocrisy in this post.

Hypocrisy?????

Dear Say10, since you are relatively new to this forum, please bear in mind that you are posting in the New Members section. The idea is to help a new vaper with his/her problem, and it's recommended to read the original post carefully and come up with an answer that will best suit the OP. Most people who post in the NM forum are just starting to vape and their main goal is to find a PV that will help them transition from smoking to vaping. That usually means something simple that doesn't require setting up a workshop, buying a multimeter, torch, different gauge Kanthal wire, several sets of pliers and other tools, making cotton or hemp wicks--and the familiarity with the Ohm's law. :D

The OP said clearly that he's looking for a tank that will work "out of the box.. without rigging." That, in my mind, makes the entire discussion about RBAs moot--at least until we hear from the OP again. :D

I'll make sure to know every detail about a posters disabilities, technical limitations and finances before I respond from now on.

It's not a bad idea, you know. There are many people with all kinds of disabilities joining this forum every day. Some have poor vision, or poor motor skills, some are working moms and dads who have absolutely no time (or interest) in their busy lives to even contemplate rebuilding--they want plug and play devices that will help them quit. They don't care about intricacies of flavor, do not need a new hobby or view vaping as a competitive sport. They just want to quit smoking.

So yes, it's always a good idea to first ask the OP what exactly his/her needs are and how much they can/are willing to spend initially--just for starters--before offering suggestions.

Different things work for different people. There are many veterans on this forum who still use mini batteries with good cartomizers--because they prefer the small form and they don't mind constant recharging and refilling. I also know people who sold their mods (including ProVaris ;)) and use eGo-class batteries (vv or not) with simple tanks or carto tanks or dripping atties--and swear that nothing delivers a better taste than a Custom HH.357 Cisco Hybrid 510 Atomizer--not a Kayfun, not even a Vela Latina drip tank. :)

I certainly hope my post came off as me being right.

It's not about you being right or wrong. It's about helping the OP.

There is no right or wrong in vaping. What is right for you may not be right for somebody else. Please try to understand this.

Just like there is no single "right" car, cell phone, computer or a pair of sneakers for everyone's needs and lifestyle and price range.

Whatever works well and keeps a person from smoking cigarettes is the right PV for them.

+1 for the v-nanos with automatic batteries; excellent way for people who are STILL SMOKING and looking to try out vaping; they don't hold much - maybe the equivalent of half pack - I used to use them at work and carried a small bottle of eliquid to refill. It's cigalike style, and if you get a pack for 5 v-nanos, you can use them to experiment with 5 flavors till you settle on flavors that you like.
