My big boy tomatos have turned into large cherry tomatos..the heat is just killing them. But there is a lot of new growth among the yellow leaves..so maybe I will get a bumper crop later in the summer. I also suspept some bug activity, but I can't spot them..lots of dark spots on the tomatos and chewed up leaves. I will trim them up and keep on watering and feeding.
Fudgy, I am sorry about your tomatos! The only thing I can suggest is getting a q tip and trying to pollinate from flower to flower.

I will have to try that next time!

how about a pastic garabage bag....cover the plant in flower....shake it a bit...take it to the next one.....could that work for pollinating ?

I only have one, but I could do that to this one, just put it over it and shake. Like shake and bake :laugh: I do know we have bees around, I have found them in the pool.

At least they are big enough to skim out ! Here you have these teeny tiny gnats.......eeewwwww....

We have those too, annoying!!!

Why do those bugs and snakes and possums want to commit suicide in pools? I got tired of fishing them out!

One summer we got 3 squirrels out of the pool  One of them I saved he was on my kickboard barely hanging on. When I grabbed the board he didn't even care. Luckily we haven't had any this year, always happens when we haven't had enough rain for them to have water.

I haven't checked out this thread before so I guess I should show off what I grew last year. They are some kind of lilly and I was shocked spitless ;) that they flowered at all because I have a black thumb. I wasn't sure they would come back this year but they are just starting to open now and I'm going to get a few more this year.
