My other hobby/job I love to do is Roofing. It's hard work but I love to see a house I put a new roof on. It just makes the house look so much better to me replacing an old roof. Me and my father have our own construction business that is moving slow right now because people don't want to spend money on a new roof right now or new deck if they can't even make payments on the house. I love putting shingles down and watching the big puzzle come together to make a beautiful roof. I do more than roofing for the company but that is my all time favorite job. Sorry for rambling :)

I can honestly say I've never heard someone say they enjoy roofing. Or that it's their hobby. Kudos to you, man. That's awesome. I've done it once, twenty years ago, and there's a reason for that.

EDIT: But you know what my all-time favorite job ever was? Roads and Grounds-- filling potholes, mowing public lands, and snorkeling for golf ball. All for $2.39/hour. Every day, your work had a result. You never took your work home with you. Best crew of people, too.

It's a very hard job but I love driving by a house I have redone and seeing how amazing it looks and how much it changed. I learned it all from my father so it was like a hobby to me that I also got paid for so that was great too. When I would finish for the day I would eat a huge dinner and lay down in my bed and have the best sleep I would ever have. Very satisfying.

I used to paint a little but very unprofessionally Mos. I have to say that your paintings are wonderful. I like them so much, thats a real art to me!
I'm a painter in my spare time, even make a little $ doing it now and then..
As you can see, lots of vapor clouds in my work lol
I've really enjoyed seeing and reading what everyone's into, great thread!:vapor:

UK, I have a friend that restores his cars. A volvo and a citroen. He asks me all the time to make some parts for him on the machine. I really enjoy his passion. The other day we were talking about this stuff and he was complaining that the only person that he can talk about some serious things was only me

I've not really touched a car for over 18 months now they were taking over my whole life.
What Citroen has your friend got?
i've done quite a few old VW's and way back in the 80's i did scooters (its where i learnt how to metal polish)
I'd love an original DS those are just so cool if i get the chance to buy one id gladly restore it.

In the two above i've only done 900km's in the last year

I bet a KG wouldn't have won the March contest, though.

Good point ;-)
My parents wouldn't have appreciated the KG either; they weren't really car people.
Some people say i'm not either, but i do like my '70s american vehicles.
I've got a 1970 Cadillac and a 1979 Corvette. My first and second Us cars were a 1974 Gran Torino and a 1979 Cherokee Chief.
I'll propably stick to the '70s cars, i'll just have to avoid the Pacers and Pintos :)

That's a sweet Karmann Ghia you got there UK.
I've taken a lot of flack from my parents over the KG; they always claimed they were about to buy a KG, but then they had me instead :)

Are the old Citroen DS's available in the UK? I still see a few of them here in Denmark, but they are getting quite rare.

Shame on you denying your parents a KG, you know i have always been a VW man had some spilts, bays the kg a square back the notch several mk1 golfs and a Corrado G60 (G60 now theres a name for the new VV fitting as well seeing as it supercharged)
But never a beetle.
fetched a few from over in Europe as well.
You can get the DS over here but prices are very high anything for £7k upward for a good one and restos start at about £1.5k.
if i do ever get one it will be from Europe i found Sweden the best place for classics so would start any search there on Blocket S.E.
Who know maybe one day but i couldn't sell my last two.
The Mk1 golf in the picture was a blast i blue printed the engine and fitted a load of goodies to it in the end i bored it out to a 1.7 with high lift cam Audi throttle body larger injectors all the bottom end lightened ended up with 180BHP fun motor
