Hey all, so I haven't been on here in a while; I've been extremely busy!

So I usually run my lava tube as my everyday device with an ego passthrough as my back up, or taking it on the rode for over night stays.

Unfortunately, I have to send my lava tube back in for some warranty service, and my ego passthrough has bit the dust. I haven't looked around in a while, and was wondering what was the latest and greatest ego (or ego type device) I could get was. I'm not 100% set on a passthrough, as I feel I could get away with not having one.

Thanks everybody, I appreciate your help! If you have any other recommendations of what type I should get, don't hesitate to post! Also, could you post links, I'm terrible at finding good places to buy things from!

Thanks!

I was watching pbusardo's review of gotvapes.com vv ego. But when I went to the site, it wasn't there anymore. In the review.. the voltage dropped considerably underload, meaning that it's highest setting.. it still gave the same voltage as a standard eGo. Meaning the vv feature doesn't work too well. (which is probably why it isn't on their site anymore). If you're looking for a vv device... does it have to be an ego type?

I would pick a Kgo or E-Power anyday over an ego and the EVO anyday over the lavatube. Kgo/E-power both have better batteries than the ego and the variable/selectable Evo does not have the limitations on what you can vape on it like the lavatube. These are all in the general same price/category as the ego/LT. For much better performance I would pick the Darwin or the Provari.

I'm not necessarily looking for something to replace my lava tube. I use that primarily and really enjoy it! My problem is I'm looking for something to replace my broken ego passthrough. I'd prefer to not get something as expensive as a VV mod or anything like that.

I also like the "smallness" of the ego/kgo/etc battery size. It is easy to put a carto on there and it doesn't look bad at all! Not as big as a lava tube with a tank on it :p

I wouldn't recommend looking for VV on a fat bat like an Ego/Riva if you're going to get one of those just get the reg or passtrough version.

Since you've already got a 18650 battery and charger though I'd recommend at least looking into a Bolt or Indulgence V3. They are both inexpensive, not much more than you'd pay for a fat battery and they are quite small in comparison to a Lava Tube. Plus with those if you want to get a kick for it when they are available you'll have a nice inexpensive variable wattage mod.

When I went looking for a back-up I wanted something that I almost couldn't brake, was a simplistic all mechanical device, and was versatile.
    This is what I chose.
Mako Midi V3 - Moju Republic
Electronicstix.com is where I got mine, but they show "out of stock".
Funny part is that now I consider everything else that I have the back-up to the Mako.
