Inawera Aroma Warnings

Hello, I am pretty new with the DIY liquids, and I don't know if it's worth a topic but I am alarmed with the warnings on certain Inawera flavors.

The most alarming for me was this from Inawera Whisky:

Contains 2-methylopropan-1-ol. Flammable liquid and vapour.


From Inawera eucalyptus mint:

Contains eucalyptus oil. May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.


Is it still safe to vape them?

I would say no. The eucalyptus is clearly marked as fatal. And I would think that any flammable vapor is not safe for your lungs or around equipment that uses electricity and could spark. IMHO the answer is a resounding NO.

All eliquid is flammable. It's why you can "burn" off your coils by simply putting heat to it. If there's eliquid on the coil it will catch fire.

I do use Eucalyptus with Mint from INW.

Was never a mint / menthol smoker but this particular flavor is very nice to vape
in between flavor changes.

I believe the warning might be in relation to swallowing the flavor in its original form
from the bottle rather than in its diluted state in a pg/vg solution.

It's just like pure nicotine. It can be fatal if swallowed too. You dilute it for vaping. It's the same with any flavorings...you dilute it for vaping purposes. A lot of pure flavorings can be harmful if you swallow it in large quantities.

Dosage/concentration matters.

The containers for post-mix concentrates of certain well-known softdrink manufacturers have HazMat labels all over them...

I've been using Inawera for about 2 years and I'm still kickin. Readily available cough drops have eucalyptus oil. You are breathing that in right? Like Steamix said, concentration matters.

A lot of flavorings have alcohol as a carrier sometimes with either vg or pg added - sometimes not. They are all considered ok to use for vaping. I tend to overnight air out the alcohol in mixed juices that I make from any alcohol based flavoring (leave the cap off). So far no problem using those flavorings.

Thank you all very much. I was actually more or less into the same decision with the eucalyptus oil but i was a little concerned with the 2 methylopropanol 1 ol because it did not return any meaningful results on google. But it seems it is because of a typo of Inawera and correct word is 2 methylpropanol 1.

The first time I bought nicotine it came with all kinds of warnings on the label. Danger, poison and other warnings and it was only 48mg. The warning scared me enough that before I even opened it I called the vendor I bought it from.

I talked to a very nice knowledgeable person that told me that they do that just so the end user will be aware that it can be potentially dangerous if not handled properly. Sometimes warning do seem to go overboard but are in fact necessary for some folks.

You have gotten some very good responses to your question but If you are truly concerned about the warnings posted about these particular flavorings it might be in your best interest to call the company and talk to them about it.

......Any flavoring that has alcohol in it is technically flammable while it is full strength. When it is diluted in a mix for vaping, it is NOT flammable; besides, this alcohol will evaporate while being steeped IMO.
Vape on.
