This is my first post, and, I figured, I'm too new to post a "success" story, let's give it a little more time.

Anyway, here's my experience with E-cigs thus far. I had absolutely no intention of quitting. I was a little under 1 pack/day smoker (Newports) for the past 10 years. I only bought an E-cig (KR-801D-1) so that I wouldn't be as uncomfortable in airports (I fly 100K+ miles per year for work). Last week I had to fly to Vegas (5 hour flight) and brought along my ecig. I had just gotten the PCC and brought along a few (not enough, I think I burned them all not knowing what I was doing) carts.

As usual, I took a few drags in the airport. And then, when I landed in Vegas, I jumped right in a cab and didn't take the time to smoke. Got the the hotel, checked in, got up to my room (on the 61st floor) and decided I didn't feel like walking back outside; so just had a few drags off the ecig can called it a night.

The next morning I woke up feeling pretty good. I normally would smoke before I get into the shower, but, again, it was about a 10 minute walk to the smoking area. I just used the e-cig again, hopped in the shower and then went about my day.

I was in Vegas for 5 days, and, by day 3, I started really thinking about "not smoking" and using the vape instead. It wasn't "hard", I just pretended I was smoking (walked outside to the smoking section) and fired up the 801 instead.

Came home from the trip and immediately ordered more supplies for the 801; and, also, placed an order for the Ego-T. Frankly, I don't care how much money I waste trying different models/liquids/etc; this is my life we're talking about here. I'm sure I'll find some things I like and some I don't (already found out that 24MG liquid is way too strong, as I sit typing this with a ripping headache). I don't care if the Ecigs cost me more than real cigs, this isn't a cost saving exercise, it's a life saving one. :)

Anyway, I just cannot believe how easy it was to transition from the "real stuff" to the eCig. It was amazing, I'm already starting to dislike the cig flavored carts and think I'll be moving to something a bit more palatable soon. :) I have 2 full cartons of Newports at home and have had 0 urge to smoke a single one. I'm sure I'll throw them out at some point, but, it's just not even an issue, I just don't want one.

I'm also going to pass along my VERY limited experience, and hope that it will help others..

If you're using the 801, get a PCC (personal charging case). It makes it much more "natural" to carry around and then you'll always have a good charge. When the charge gets low the vapor sucks, and you want to switch back to a real cig (this was my problem in the past, I didn't have the PCC and never really "liked" the 801 as much a real cig).

The "number of cigs per cart" number is totally bogus. The 801 carts are supposed to be a pack of smokes. In reality, they are probably 4-5 smokes. This isn't really a "problem", just realize it and plan accordingly.

Don't burn (if it tastes weak/bad, the cart is empty) your carts, put on a new one and...

Don't throw away your carts. Get some juice and refill them.. It couldn't be easier, and it's about 1/10th the cost of a new cart.

Hope my very limited experience helps others, really enjoying vaping and not smoking!

Yes, exactly. This is like magic. I smoked a pack+ a day for 40 years. I tried quitting cold-turkey, I tried patches, gum, Wellbutrin, hypnosis and acupuncture. Longest I ever quit was 5 weeks on Wellbutrin, but I couldn't stand taking the stuff anymore. I felt defeated and ashamed that I couldn't quit.

I decided to try out the e-cigarette, but had little hope that I would actually ever quit analogs. I cruised ECF, got a lot of good advice and ordered myself a 510, with spare batteries, etc. 11 days since my last analog, and I'm not panicking and feeling deprived and distracted. I'm *enjoying* this. I like it and I have no desire to light up a stinky analog. I feel good, and hopeful that I won't die of lung cancer as my mother did.

I'm on a tight budget, so saving money is a big plus for me, and all the wonderfully helpful people at ECF have helped there, too. I've bought all sorts of new toys, juices and such and still only spent about 1 month's worth of cigarette money. I want to hug every one of the people here at ECF for helping to change my life for the better.

Welcome to you also, MsTick. Isn't it grand to get your life back. I know I feel that way, and am sure most of ecf members do also. I was a heavy smoker for over 40 years and I tried all of the things on the market to quit. Ecigs are the ONLY thing that has worked for me. It is all incompasing(sp) as it takes care of the entire habit not just the nic part.
Good Luck and glad you found us.

Grats!! Another accidental quitter! I love accidental quitter stories because it just shows how well these things work.

Good model - BTW it's KR808D-1 aka KR8
You can use prefilled cartos from Vapor4Life (those are soft-caps), Bloog (probably softcaps?), and at LeCig the D1 and Greencig cartos, and there are some other prefilled KR808D-1 cartos around. Plus many styles of blanks.

I vape both KR8 and 510, both with cartos

BTW - if you go automatic batteries be extra careful when refilling cartos - make sure they are not going to leak out the bottom before putting on your battery. Autos have a drag sensor switch in the end.

Psycho..

In my VERY limited experience, my only suggestion is; DON'T deny yourself the vape. If you feel like smoking, vape. If you still feel like it, keep vaping. Eventually (like what I accidentally did earlier using a new (too strong) liquid) you'll OD on nicotine, and trust me, you won't feel like an analog then (and it's not like OD and die, you'll just feel like crap, and certainly will NOT feel like smoking a real cig).

What I found was that I was trying to "control" my use of the vape. Because of that, I wasn't getting enough nicotine, and that was making me want to smoke a real cig. Just keep puffing away until the need to smoke goes away, that was what I did differently this time (I've had the ecig for a long time, but never really let myself "use it", I just took 3-4 hits and put it away).

LOL, I have a half-full pack of smokes, that I pass several times every day. They're now getting stale, and I know there's not a chance I'll smoke 'em. I just keep them there as a reminder of how worthless that vice was.

F....! cigarettes!

Yeah, I've got an almost full pouch of rolling tobacco left over from when I still smoked. I keep it in the bag I take with me to work every day. Never even the hint of an urge to get it out and roll a smoke. I think I keep it in there just so I can laugh at it and show it who's boss!

Kind of amazing how well this works... almost scary

It's nothing short of astonishing. There's never been another product on the market that EVER had a single person say "I accidentally quit smoking". But that's exactly what the eCig did for me, I actually quit without realizing I quit. It is so heads and shoulders above the other options out there (patch, gum, etc) that it's almost criminal that it's not all over the news (and Drs offices) telling people to do this instead of smoke.

My only fear (which I realize is 99% unfounded) is that they are going to find out these things are seriously bad for you. Frankly, it almost feels like they should be; it doesn't seem like it's "right" that you can quit this easily. I'm just crossing my fingers; I certainly hope that such a day never comes (and don't really think it's going to come, but I'm a nervous person.. Even with nicotine!).

I hear you Puma. I bought an ecig just to cut back on my smoking costs. I would go through 1.5 to 2 cartons a week and at $56 a carton now I was just spending too much money. I thought that for less than the price of a carton I could get one of these kits and possibly just reduce the amount I was smoking. If it worked, then the cartridges would cost a lot less than the analogs.

After a few days of ecigs, analogs tasted so bad that I didn't want to smoke one. I still have an opened pack in my car with 19 cigarettes in it and two unopened packs at home. I figured that I would leave the open pack handy to see if my 40 year habit will still tempt me, but after about 2 weeks I still don't want one.

Like you, I was not attempting to totally give up cigarettes. The ecig just tastes better and satisfies the nicotine urge. Who'da thunk it?
