Get your friends and loved ones involved too. Senator Yoder does not want this bill in summer session! It is a long drawn-out process that will have him and the proceedings under scrutiny. They do not want that. They wanted this to be slipped through without much debate.

(Putting a legislator's bill into summer session is seen as a punishment by the assembly.)

It is a hearing on the senate floor, not a committee hearing, and it convenes at 1:30 pm eastern time. So no video until the gavel falls on the senate floor.

We have till 1:30 to let the entire state senate "feel" us from the phone calls.

BTW: The switchboard automatically blocks any calls from outside the state, so if you have a cell phone number from another state, like me, use a different phone.

Oh, and folks outside of Indiana, find your state's version of Hoosier Vapers that are active advocates, and CASAA supporters, and join them. If you don't have one, create a group.

We are serving as a means for shops and vapors to rally through. I would hate to think of what a horrible position we would be in if the Hoosier Vapers wasn't already in place and active. We managed to gather over 1000 signed letters against SB 539 in just 48 hours to the committee's first reading. We didn't have to spend time organizing nearly as much because we already existed.

If we manage to stop this onslaught here, they won't stop at Indiana, heck they won't even stop coming after us even if we throw them back. I've been in the trenches here for years and spoke a number of times in front of elected officials with seas of matching T-shirts behind me for the ANTZ. If we don't standup for ourselves, we may as well give the ANTZ everything they want, because it's the same result. You can't win if you're not in the fight.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox now...

Do you have any idea what changes have been made, if any?

Yes, they moved some stuff around to sound different and mean the same thing. Yoder was directed to fix the bill and meet with industry reps, he finally accepted the meeting for next week after he got his bill on the docket for today.

Again, of the dirty tricks that have happened, this is also a minor one. And a common one too.

It's crazy. We're working on printing stuff out and going through with a sharpie to have a copy that is legible to folks who don't speak bill-ize.

I cannot access the video behind the firewalls where I am, contracted R&D work, and have to use a workaround just to post here and keep up with reports coming from the chambers.

There are a number of forces at work and we are trying to determine which one is gaining momentum at this moment.

The Delph amendment is active, but cannot be acted upon untill the bill is introduced for hearing. Yoder can attempt to put the Delph on hold by passing on a reading to the senate, which means he to yank it off the docket in front of everybody. Can cause the Delph amendment to go cold, but it also reveals weakness on his part.

What does that mean?

This. I'll wait for Hoosier to comment.

Short story, he has to meet with us now..... I'm not one of those people you look forward to meeting with if you've already ...... me off.

(Grandma taught me how to cut an ego down to size with very nice words and a pleasant tone.). Oh, and I'm big, hairy, and look more like bigfoot than a teddy bear, so that kind of stuff coming out of me seems to really put people off their game.

Indiana has a General Assembly aka: Part-Time Legislative Branch. They meet in meet in the winter into spring. Summer session is like extra homework with a laundry list of requirements/hoops that have to be done to advance a bill through.

It is meant as a way to give important laws a chance to be fully debated by all sides and compromises reached. In practice most bills never survive summer session and most reps very much dislike being forced to perform their duties in the summer.

I still have issues with the vendor involvement here, or lack there of.
1. I rarely if ever buy from local vendors. 2 kits and some coils over the last 3 years. They are overpriced, condescending, and prefer that their customers don't even know there is an internet market.
2. I've been buying online & from china since 2009, long before the advent of B&M's here. I detest the bashing of Chinese products, because China brought this product to the market, not the "good ol' usa".
3. I have about a 5 year supply of nicotine on hand, and nothing else that I need will ever be regulated.
4. I do regret that if this industry is handed over to BT, those who have not explored it as a cessation option, will be deprived of that and probably just continue to smoke.

ECF members have long been the foot soldiers, sales force, tech support, R&D,.... for e-cigs.
Vendors need to fight this battle, because they have kept their B&M customers in the dark, for profits.
off my rant.
