@suprtrkr I found a site that is reputable that has fused clapton wire and a wide range of all the batteries u mentioned....eciggity
Thanks. Actually, I have ordered there before. They are good people. The shipping from Hawaii disturbs me a bit, but they're good folks.

I've never tried clapton wire just Kanthal 24G is the safest choice that I know is going to work decently enough. I have some Titanium 24G that I got from fasttech that I still havent opened lol. Other than that I got a bunch of different Stainless Steel wire in various gauges.(only thing im still needing is a few more gauges in 430 grade) Its good being able to use SS though because of its ability to be used in TC or regular Wattage Mode. Ideally some stainless steel clapton wires would be awesome but dont know if anybody actually sells that, heard of some people making there own claptons though with Stainless Steel and the flavor has to be outstanding.

I've held off on building the Mutank until today or tomorrow whenever my new flavoring supplies come in from Flavorah. Sort of used all my favorite flavorings up that I have had for many months and needed to restock so going to try these Flavorah flavorings which are supposed to be really good for the first time on the Mutank. Dont know if im more excited about the flavorings coming in or trying out the Mutank for the first time with my own build :)(been using the prebuilt coils and they are just OK, not great though)

I know suprtrkr you got a different tank then I got, the Mutation X? I got the Mutank but should be the same concept wicking as you said, going to follow your build pics as closely as possible, making sure to put enough wick into the channel... but hey are you stuffing the channel packing it tight in there or just lightly placing the tails onto/into the channel? Torn between building 3.5mm or 3mm coils probably start with 3mm since I am more familiar with how thick the Rayon is supposed to be but want to try some larger 3.5mm coils eventually like you use suprtrkr, I can only imagine the increased flavor and clouds! Cause I know the difference between 2.5mm and 3mm when I went bigger was instantly noticeable performance wise... Going to start simple though about 0.2ohm dual coil with 24G Kanthal, wicked with Rayon ;)

Cool, have to get him to tell us where he is buying that. Think fasttech might carry it, I bought the regular 304 and 316L SS in many gauges from them months ago. Matter of fact I have 24, 26 and 28 Gauge of 316L I might be able to make my own... Not sure though if 28/24 would be a good combo think the outer wire needs to be like 32G super thin... but dont know much about clapton other than its two wires the thinner one wrapped around the thicker one and its named after eric clapton cause it looks like a guitar string. Probably should just buy some premade lol

Wrap it and try it. Whats the worst that can happen? it works and you love it? Its just wire. Wire is cheap. as long as your build is safe i say try it. Ive made claptons with those gauges in Kanthal before.

Ordered my Black Project Sub ohm MuTank last night. had a coupon for 10% off so with expedited shipping it was 34 bucks. Hoping it gets here this week.

I wouldn't stuff it in. In fact, I just recently reworked MT #3 (that's the one in the photos) to take some out. I would now suggest, on the rayon strips on the deck, cut them flush with the ends of the deck before pulling wick in the coils or installing the barrel, leaving only the actual wicks sticking out to be trimmed later. The function of the deck strips is really just a dam to stop flooding, it doesn't add anything to the wicking ability at all, unless holding a quantity of juice on the deck itself is useful. It's just there to provide sufficient material to stop up the holes. I have also discovered the silly thing wants to flood on fresh rayon for some reason, no idea why. With a fresh wick, fill the tank about half way up, wait a few for saturation, then cap it and vape it a few pulls before opening it up and filling the rest of the way. As I say, no idea what it's doing, but this seems to work. YMMV, of course.

So suprtrkr the deck strips as you said are separate pieces of rayon...? Not the same Rayon pieces that serves as your actual wick going through the coil?

Next do you just leave the Rayon completely dry and let the tank saturate the wicks for you? I normally prewet the wicks myself with my dropper bottle of ejuice. That said Ill try anything new to prevent leaks, cant stand leakage.

Thanks again for the help

Nice to see they have some 32g for wrapping some claptons with. How low of a resistance is 26ish gauge wire? Think it's high enough to get fused claptons or just single claptons out it?

dude, Im getting 1000 feet of 24G SS 304 wire... Ill just make some damn paperclips! :pervy:

I looked at those Etsy links. for 10 bucks you get 150 feet of 24G 304. the listings for 316l has no length stated. That is why I went the route I did. Price per inch is great. and heck, I will hae plenty of wire to use for other things than wrapping coils.
